1 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

2 S peak unto all the assembly of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Holy shall ye be, for I Jehovah your God am holy.

„Vorbeşte întregii adunări a israeliţilor şi spune-le: «Fiţi sfinţi, pentru că Eu, Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, sunt sfânt.

3 Y e shall reverence every man his mother, and his father, and my sabbaths shall ye keep: I am Jehovah your God.

Fiecare din voi să-şi cinstească mama şi tatăl şi să ţină Sabatele Mele. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

4 Y e shall not turn unto idols, and ye shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.

Să nu vă întoarceţi spre idoli şi să nu vă turnaţi idoli. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

5 A nd if ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance.

Când veţi aduce o jertfă de pace pentru Domnul, să o aduceţi în aşa fel încât să fie primită.

6 O n the day when ye sacrifice it shall it be eaten, and on the morrow; and that which remaineth until the third day shall be burned with fire.

Să fie mâncată în ziua când o veţi jertfi sau în ziua următoare; ce va mai rămâne până a treia zi să fie ars în foc.

7 A nd if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an unclean thing: it shall not be accepted.

Dacă se va mânca ceva din ea a treia zi, fapta aceasta va fi o urâciune şi, prin urmare, jertfa nu va fi primită.

8 A nd he that eateth it shall bear his iniquity; for he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.

Acela care va mânca din ea îşi va purta pedeapsa pentru că a profanat ceea ce este sfânt pentru Domnul; omul acela să fie nimicit din poporul său.

9 A nd when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou shalt not gather.

Când veţi secera holdele ţării, să nu seceri până la marginea ogorului tău şi să nu aduni spicele rămase după seceriş.

10 A nd thy vineyard shalt thou not glean, neither shalt thou gather what hath been left of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am Jehovah your God.

Să nu aduni ciorchinii de struguri rămaşi după culesul viei tale şi să nu aduni boabele căzute din viţă, ci să le laşi pentru cel sărac şi pentru străin. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul tău.

11 Y e shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.

Să nu furaţi, să nu vă purtaţi cu vicleşug şi să nu vă minţiţi unii pe alţii.

12 A nd ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

Să nu juraţi fals pe Numele Meu, profanând Numele Dumnezeului vostru. Eu sunt Domnul.

13 T hou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of the hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

Să nu-ţi înşeli semenul şi nici să nu-l jefuieşti; să nu opreşti până a doua zi plata zilerului.

14 T hou shalt not revile a deaf person, and thou shalt not put a stumbling-block before a blind one; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

Să nu vorbeşti de rău pe cel surd şi să nu pui o piatră înaintea celui orb, ci să te temi de Dumnezeul tău. Eu sunt Domnul.

15 Y e shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the lowly, nor honour the person of the great; in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

Să nu faceţi nici o nedreptate la judecată; să nu fii părtinitor cu cel sărac şi să nu favorizezi pe nimeni dintre cei mari, ci să-l judeci cu dreptate pe semenul tău.

16 T hou shalt not go about as a talebearer among thy people; thou shalt not stand up against the life of thy neighbour: I am Jehovah.

Să nu umbli cu bârfe în popor şi să nu te atingi de viaţa semenului tău. Eu sunt Domnul.

17 T hou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt earnestly rebuke thy neighbour, lest thou bear sin on account of him.

Să nu-l urăşti în inima ta pe fratele tău, ci mustră-l pe semenul tău, pentru a nu te încărca cu păcat din cauza lui.

18 T hou shalt not avenge thyself, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Jehovah.

Să nu te răzbuni şi să nu ţii necaz pe cei din poporul tău, ci să-l iubeşti pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi. Eu sunt Domnul.

19 M y statutes shall ye observe. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with another sort; thou shalt not sow thy field with seed of two sorts; and a garment woven of two materials shall not come upon thee.

Să păziţi poruncile Mele. Să nu împerechezi două vite de rasă diferită; să nu semeni ogoarele cu două feluri de seminţe; să nu porţi haine ţesute din două feluri de fire.

20 A nd if a man lie with a woman for copulation, and she is a bondwoman betrothed to a husband, but not at all ransomed, nor hath freedom been given to her, there shall be a chastisement: they shall not be put to death, for she was not free.

Dacă un om se va culca cu o femeie, o sclavă, logodită cu un alt bărbat, care nu fusese încă răscumpărată sau eliberată, să fie pedepsiţi amândoi. Să nu fie însă omorâţi, pentru că ea nu fusese eliberată.

21 A nd he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a trespass-offering.

El va trebui să aducă Domnului o jertfă pentru vină la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii; să aducă un berbec ca jertfă pentru vină.

22 A nd the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath done; and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

Cu berbecul jertfei pentru vină preotul va face ispăşire pentru el înaintea Domnului, pentru păcatul pe care l-a săvârşit şi astfel păcatul pe care l-a săvârşit îi va fi iertat.

23 A nd when ye come into the land and plant all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count its fruit as uncircumcised, three years shall it be uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of;

Când veţi intra în ţară şi veţi planta tot felul de pomi pentru hrană, să priviţi roadele lor ca fiind interzise; timp de trei ani să fie interzise pentru voi; să nu le mâncaţi.

24 a nd in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy for praise to Jehovah;

În al patrulea an, toate roadele lor să fie închinate Domnului, spre lauda Lui.

25 a nd in the fifth year shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may increase unto you the produce thereof: I am Jehovah your God.

În al cincilea an, să mâncaţi din roadele lor, pentru ca roadele lor să vi se înmulţească. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

26 Y e shall eat nothing with the blood.—Ye shall not practise enchantment, nor use auguries.

Să nu mâncaţi nimic cu sânge. Să nu vă îndeletniciţi cu vrăjitoria sau ghicirea.

27 — Ye shall not shave the corners of your head round, neither shalt thou mutilate the corners of thy beard.

Să nu vă tundeţi părul de pe tâmple şi să nu-ţi razi colţurile bărbii.

28 A nd cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.

Să nu vă faceţi tăieturi în carne pentru un mort şi să nu vă imprimaţi nici un semn pe piele. Eu sunt Domnul.

29 — Do not profane thy daughter, to give her up to whoredom; lest the land practise whoredom, and the land become full of infamy.

Să nu-ţi pângăreşti fiica, făcând-o prostituată, pentru ca nu cumva ţara să ajungă un loc de prostituţie şi să se umple de nelegiuire.

30 — My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

Să ţineţi Sabatele Mele şi să cinstiţi Lăcaşul Meu. Eu sunt Domnul.

31 — Turn not unto necromancers and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God.

Să nu vă duceţi la cei ce cheamă duhurile morţilor sau la descântători; să nu-i căutaţi ca să nu vă spurcaţi cu ei. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

32 B efore the hoary head thou shalt rise up, and shalt honour the face of an old man; and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

Să te ridici înaintea perilor albi şi să onorezi pe cel bătrân; să te temi de Dumnezeul tău. Eu sunt Domnul.

33 A nd if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not molest him.

Dacă vreun străin vine să locuiască împreună cu voi în ţara voastră, să nu-l asupriţi.

34 A s one born among you shall the stranger who sojourneth with you be unto you; and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

Străinul să fie privit ca un băştinaş între voi; să-l iubiţi ca pe voi înşivă, căci şi voi aţi fost străini în ţara Egiptului. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

35 Y e shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measure of length, in weight, and in measure of capacity:

Să nu faceţi nedreptate în ce priveşte standardele de măsurare a lungimii sau de cântărire a greutăţii şi a cantităţii.

36 j ust balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

Să aveţi cumpene drepte, greutăţi corecte, o efă corectă şi un hin corect. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, Care v-am scos din ţara Egiptului.

37 A nd ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.

Să păziţi toate poruncile şi toate legile Mele şi să le împliniţi. Eu sunt Domnul. »“
