1 A fter these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. And he manifested thus.

După aceea, Isus li S-a arătat din nou ucenicilor, la Marea Tiberiadei. Li S-a arătat astfel:

2 T here were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael who was of Cana of Galilee, and the of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

Simon Petru, Toma – cel numit „Didimus“ –, Natanael din Cana Galileii, fiii lui Zebedei şi alţi doi dintre ucenicii lui Isus, erau împreună.

3 S imon Peter says to them, I go to fish. They say to him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and went on board, and that night took nothing.

Simon Petru le-a zis: – Mă duc să pescuiesc! Ei i-au răspuns: – Venim şi noi cu tine! Au ieşit şi s-au suit într-o barcă, dar în noaptea aceea n-au prins nimic.

4 A nd early morn already breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; the disciples however did not know that it was Jesus.

Când se făcuse deja dimineaţă, Isus stătea pe ţărm. Ucenicii însă nu ştiau că este Isus.

5 J esus therefore says to them, Children, have ye anything to eat? They answered him, No.

El le-a zis: – Copilaşi, nu aveţi ceva peşte de mâncare? – Nu! I-au răspuns ei.

6 A nd he said to them, Cast the net at the right side of the ship and ye will find. They cast therefore, and they could no longer draw it, from the multitude of fishes.

El le-a zis: – Aruncaţi năvodul în partea dreaptă a bărcii şi veţi găsi! L-au aruncat şi nu l-au mai putut trage din cauza mulţimii peştilor.

7 T hat disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, It is the Lord. Simon Peter therefore, having heard that it was the Lord, girded his overcoat (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea;

Atunci ucenicul pe care-l iubea Isus i-a zis lui Petru: „Este Domnul!“ Auzind că este Domnul, Simon Petru şi-a pus haina pe el, pentru că era dezbrăcat, şi s-a aruncat în mare.

8 a nd the other disciples came in the small boat, for they were not far from the land, but somewhere about two hundred cubits, dragging the net of fishes.

Ceilalţi ucenici au venit cu barca, trăgând năvodul cu peşti, căci nu era departe de ţărm, doar cam la două sute de coţi.

9 W hen therefore they went out on the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

Când au coborât pe uscat, au văzut un foc de cărbuni, peşte pus deasupra şi pâine.

10 J esus says to them, Bring of the fishes which ye have now taken.

Isus le-a zis: „Aduceţi din peştii pe care i-aţi prins acum!“

11 S imon Peter went up and drew the net to the land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not rent.

Simon Petru s-a suit în barcă şi a tras năvodul la ţărm, plin cu o sută cincizeci şi trei de peşti mari; însă, cu toate că erau atâţia, năvodul nu s-a rupt.

12 J esus says to them, Come dine. But none of the disciples dared inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Isus le-a zis: „Veniţi şi luaţi micul dejun!“ Nici unul dintre ucenici nu îndrăznea să-L întrebe: „Tu Cine eşti?“, pentru că ştiau că este Domnul.

13 J esus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish in like manner.

Isus S-a apropiat, a luat pâinea şi le-a dat-o; la fel a făcut şi cu peştele.

14 T his is already the third time that Jesus had been manifested to the disciples, being risen from among dead.

Aceasta era deja a treia oară când Isus li Se arăta ucenicilor Săi după ce fusese înviat dintre cei morţi. Isus şi Petru

15 W hen therefore they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Feed my lambs.

După ce au luat micul dejun, Isus l-a întrebat pe Simon Petru: – Simon, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubeşti tu mai mult decât aceştia? El I-a răspuns: – Da, Doamne, Tu ştii că Te iubesc! Isus i-a zis: – Paşte mieii Mei!

16 H e says to him again a second time, Simon, of Jonas, lovest thou me? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Shepherd my sheep.

L-a întrebat din nou, a doua oară: – Simon, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubeşti? El I-a răspuns: – Da, Doamne, Tu ştii că Te iubesc! Isus i-a zis: – Păstoreşte oile Mele!

17 H e says to him the third time, Simon, of Jonas, art thou attached to me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Art thou attached to me? and said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

L-a întrebat a treia oară: – Simon, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubeşti? Petru s-a întristat pentru că-i zisese a treia oară: „Mă iubeşti?“ şi I-a răspuns: – Doamne, Tu le ştii pe toate, Tu ştii că Te iubesc! Isus i-a zis: – Paşte oile Mele!

18 V erily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst where thou desiredst; but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and bring thee where thou dost not desire.

Adevărat, adevărat îţi spun că, atunci când erai mai tânăr, tu însuţi te încingeai şi te duceai unde voiai; însă când vei îmbătrâni, îţi vei întinde mâinile şi altcineva te va încinge şi te va duce unde nu vei voi!

19 B ut he said this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he says to him, Follow me.

A spus acestea ca să arate cu ce fel de moarte Îl va proslăvi Petru pe Dumnezeu. Apoi i-a zis: – Urmează-Mă! Isus şi ucenicul iubit

20 P eter, turning round, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned at supper on his breast, and said, Lord, who is it that delivers thee up?

Petru s-a întors şi l-a văzut venind după ei pe ucenicul pe care-l iubea Isus, acela care la cină stătuse la masă la pieptul lui Isus şi-L întrebase: „Doamne, cine este cel ce Te va trăda?“

21 P eter, seeing him, says to Jesus, Lord, and what this ?

Văzându-l, Petru L-a întrebat pe Isus: – Doamne, dar cu acesta ce va fi?

22 J esus says to him, If I will that he abide until I come, what to thee? Follow thou me.

Isus i-a răspuns: – Dacă vreau ca el să rămână până vin Eu, ce te priveşte pe tine?! Tu urmează-Mă!

23 T his word therefore went out among the brethren, That disciple does not die. And Jesus did not say to him, He does not die; but, If I will that he abide until I come, what to thee?

Din pricina aceasta a ieşit zvonul între fraţi că acel ucenic nu va muri. Dar Isus nu-i spusese că nu va muri, ci: „Dacă vreau ca el să rămână până vin Eu, ce te priveşte pe tine?!“

24 T his is the disciple who bears witness concerning these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his witness is true.

Acesta este ucenicul care depune mărturie cu privire la aceste lucruri şi care a scris aceste lucruri. Şi ştim că mărturia lui este adevărată.

25 A nd there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would contain the books written.

Mai sunt multe alte lucruri pe care le-a făcut Isus, care, dacă ar fi fost scrise fiecare, cred că nici chiar în lumea aceasta n-ar fi încăput cărţile scrise.
