1 I waited patiently for Jehovah; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

Am nădăjduit în Domnul, iar El S-a aplecat înspre mine şi mi-a ascultat strigătul.

2 A nd he brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock; he hath established my goings:

M-a scos din groapa pieirii, din murdăria mocirlei. Mi-a pus piciorul pe stâncă şi mi-a întărit paşii.

3 A nd he hath put a new song in my mouth, praise unto our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall confide in Jehovah.

Mi-a pus în gură un cântec nou, o laudă pentru Dumnezeul nostru. Mulţi vor vedea, se vor teme şi se vor încrede în Domnul.

4 B lessed is the man that hath made Jehovah his confidence, and turneth not to the proud, and to such as turn aside to lies.

Ferice de omul care îşi pune încrederea în Domnul, care nu se abate spre cei mândri şi nici spre cei ce se închină la idoli!

5 T hou, O Jehovah my God, hast multiplied thy marvellous works, and thy thoughts toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee; would I declare and speak, they are more than can be numbered.

Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, multe sunt minunile şi planurile Tale pe care le-ai făcut faţă de noi! Nimeni nu se poate asemăna cu Tine! Am vrut să le vestesc şi să vorbesc despre ele, dar sunt prea multe ca să le povestesc!

6 S acrifice and oblation thou didst not desire: ears hast thou prepared me. Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not demanded;

Tu nu ai dorit nici jertfă, nici dar de mâncare, ci mi-ai străpuns urechile. Tu nu ai cerut nici ardere de tot, nici jertfă pentru păcat.

7 T hen said I, Behold, I come, in the volume of the book it is written of me—

Atunci am zis: „Iată că vin! În sulul cărţii este scris despre mine.

8 T o do thy good pleasure, my God, is my delight, and thy law is within my heart.

Îmi găsesc plăcerea în a face voia Ta, Dumnezeul meu; Legea Ta este înăuntrul meu.“

9 I have published righteousness in the great congregation: behold, I have not withheld my lips, Jehovah, thou knowest.

Vestesc dreptatea Ta în adunarea cea mare; Tu, Doamne, ştii că nu-mi închid buzele!

10 I have not hidden thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

Nu ascund dreptatea Ta în inima mea, ci vorbesc despre credincioşia şi mântuirea Ta; nu acopăr îndurarea şi adevărul Tău în adunarea cea mare.

11 W ithhold not thou, Jehovah, thy tender mercies from me; let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

Doamne, nu-Ţi opri mila faţă de mine! Fie ca îndurarea Ta şi adevărul Tău să mă păzească mereu!

12 F or innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head: and my heart hath failed me.

Căci rele fără număr mă înconjoară; păcatele mele m-au copleşit şi nu mai sunt în stare să văd; sunt mai multe decât perii capului meu şi-mi înmoaie inima.

13 B e pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me; Jehovah, make haste to my help.

Binevoieşte, Doamne, de mă izbăveşte! Doamne, vino degrabă în ajutorul meu!

14 L et them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be turned backward and confounded that take pleasure in mine adversity;

Să se facă de râs şi să rămână de ruşine cu toţii, cei ce caută să-mi piardă viaţa! Să dea înapoi şi să fie umiliţi cei ce-mi doresc răul!

15 L et them be desolate, because of their shame, that say unto me, Aha! Aha!

Să rămână înmărmuriţi din pricina ruşinii lor cei ce-mi ziceau: „Ha! Ha!“

16 L et all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee; let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified!

Să tresalte de veselie însă şi să se bucure în Tine toţi cei ce Te caută! Cei ce iubesc mântuirea Ta să zică mereu: „Mărit să fie Domnul!“

17 B ut I am afflicted and needy: the Lord thinketh upon me. Thou art my help and my deliverer: my God, make no delay.

Cât despre mine, eu sunt chinuit şi în nevoie, dar Stăpânul se va gândi la mine. Tu eşti ajutorul şi izbăvitorul meu! Dumnezeul meu, nu întârzia!
