1 C ome and let us return unto Jehovah: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

„Haideţi să ne întoarcem la Domnul! Căci El ne-a sfâşiat, dar tot El ne va vindeca. El ne-a lovit, dar tot El ne va lega rana.

2 A fter two days will he revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before his face;

Ne va reînvia în două zile; a treia zi ne va ridica şi vom trăi înaintea Lui.

3 a nd we shall know,—we shall follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is assured as the morning dawn; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain which watereth the earth.

Să-L cunoaştem, să căutăm să-L cunoaştem pe Domnul! Aşa cum este sigur că vine răsăritul, aşa va fi de sigură şi venirea Lui; El va veni la noi ca o ploaie de iarnă, ca ploaia târzie care udă pământul.“

4 W hat shall I do unto thee, Ephraim? What shall I do unto thee, Judah? For your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away.

„Ce să fac cu tine, Efraime? Ce să fac cu tine, Iudo? Dragostea voastră este ca ceaţa de dimineaţă, ca roua care dispare devreme.

5 T herefore have I hewed by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and my judgment goeth forth as the light.

De aceea i-am tăiat în bucăţi prin profeţi, i-am ucis prin cuvintele gurii Mele, iar judecata Mea a strălucit ca lumina.

6 F or I delight in loving-kindness, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.

Căci milă doresc, nu jertfă, şi cunoştinţă de Dumnezeu, mai mult decât arderi de tot.

7 B ut they like Adam have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

Ei au încălcat legământul ca Adam – acolo au fost necredincioşi faţă de Mine.

8 G ilead is a city of them that work iniquity; it is tracked with blood.

Ghiladul este o cetate de răufăcători, plină de urme de sânge.

9 A nd as troops of robbers lie in wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way of Shechem; yea, they commit lewdness.

Aşa cum tâlharii stau la pândă după un om, tot aşa pândeşte şi ceata preoţilor. Ei ucid pe drumul Şehemului, săvârşind mişelii.

10 I n the house of Israel have I seen a horrible thing: the whoredom of Ephraim is there; Israel is defiled.

Am văzut un lucru oribil în Casa lui Israel: acolo Efraim s-a dedat la desfrânare şi Israel s-a întinat.

11 A lso, for thee, Judah, is a harvest appointed, when I shall turn again the captivity of my people.

Şi pentru tine, Iudo, este pregătit un seceriş!“ „Când vreau să îi aduc înapoi pe captivii poporului Meu,
