1 A nd the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward; and behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

Apoi Duhul m-a ridicat şi m-a dus la intrarea dinspre răsărit a Casei Domnului. Şi iată că la intrarea porţii erau douăzeci şi cinci de bărbaţi; printre ei i-am văzut pe Iaazania, fiul lui Azur, şi pe Pelatia, fiul lui Benaia, conducătorii poporului.

2 A nd he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city:

Domnul mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, aceştia sunt oamenii care pun la cale răutatea şi dau sfaturi rele în cetatea aceasta.

3 w ho say, It is not the time to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the flesh.

Ei zic: «Nu va fi oare în curând vremea potrivită pentru a zidi case? Cetatea este cazanul, iar noi suntem carnea!»

4 T herefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.

De aceea profeţeşte-le, profeţeşte, fiul omului!“

5 A nd the Spirit of Jehovah fell on me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and the things that come into your mind, I know them.

Duhul Domnului a venit peste mine şi mi-a zis: „Spune: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ‘Voi, cei din Casa lui Israel, ziceţi astfel, dar Eu vă cunosc gândurile.

6 Y e have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

V-aţi înmulţit crimele în cetatea aceasta şi i-aţi umplut străzile cu cei înjunghiaţi!’

7 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and it is the cauldron; but you will I bring forth out of the midst of it.

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: ‘Morţii pe care i-aţi întins în mijlocul cetăţii acesteia sunt carnea, iar cetatea este cazanul. Cât despre voi, vă voi scoate din mijlocul cetăţii.

8 Y e have feared the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Vă temeţi de sabie, dar sabie voi aduce peste voi, zice Stăpânul Domn.

9 A nd I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

Vă voi scoate din mijlocul cetăţii, vă voi da pe mâna străinilor şi Îmi voi împlini judecăţile împotriva voastră.

10 Y e shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the borders of Israel; and ye shall know that I Jehovah.

Veţi cădea loviţi de sabie, vă voi judeca la hotarul lui Israel şi veţi şti atunci că Eu sunt Domnul.

11 T his shall not be your cauldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it: I will judge you in the borders of Israel;

Cetatea aceasta nu va fi cazanul vostru şi nici voi nu-i veţi fi carnea, ci vă voi judeca la hotarul lui Israel.

12 a nd ye shall know that I Jehovah, in whose statutes ye have not walked, neither have done mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

Veţi şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul, ale Cărui porunci nu le-aţi urmat şi ale Cărui rânduieli nu le-aţi împlinit, ci aţi făcut după rânduielile neamurilor care vă înconjoară.’»“

13 A nd it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. And I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

În timp ce profeţeam, Pelatia, fiul lui Benaia, a murit. Atunci am căzut cu faţa la pământ şi am strigat cu glas tare, zicând: – Ah, Stăpâne Doamne, vei nimici Tu chiar şi rămăşiţa lui Israel? Promisiunea restaurării rămăşiţei

14 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

15 S on of man, thy brethren, thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, the whole of it, unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession.

– Fiul omului, fraţii tăi, fraţii tăi dintre rudele tale şi toată Casa lui Israel din exil, toţi aceştia sunt cei despre care locuitorii Ierusalimului zic: „S-au îndepărtat de Domnul! Nouă ne-a fost dată ţara aceasta în stăpânire!“

16 T herefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.

De aceea spune despre ei astfel: „Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Deşi i-am dus departe printre neamuri şi i-am împrăştiat în ţări străine, totuşi le-am fost un Lăcaş, pentru o vreme, în ţările în care au mers.»“

17 T herefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

De aceea să le spui astfel: „Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Vă voi strânge dintre popoare, vă voi aduna din ţările în care aţi fost împrăştiaţi şi vă voi da ţara lui Israel.»

18 A nd they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its abominations.

Când vor sosi în ea, vor scoate de acolo toţi idolii şi toate urâciunile.

19 A nd I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

Le voi da o inimă neîmpărţită şi voi pune în ei un duh nou. Voi scoate inima de piatră din trupul lor şi le voi da o inimă de carne,

20 t hat they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

ca astfel să urmeze hotărârile Mele, şi totodată să păzească şi să împlinească rânduielile Mele. Vor fi poporul Meu, iar Eu voi fi Dumnezeul lor.

21 B ut as for them whose heart walketh well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Cât despre aceia a căror inimă umblă după idolii şi urâciunile lor, le voi întoarce umbletele asupra capetelor lor, zice Stăpânul Domn. “

22 A nd the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

După aceea, heruvimii şi-au ridicat aripile, însoţiţi fiind de roţile care erau în apropierea lor; slava Dumnezeului lui Israel era deasupra lor.

23 A nd the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

Slava Domnului s-a ridicat din mijlocul cetăţii şi s-a oprit pe muntele de la răsăritul cetăţii.

24 A nd the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity; and the vision that I had seen went up from me.

Duhul m-a luat şi m-a dus într-o vedenie, prin Duhul lui Dumnezeu, la exilaţii din Caldeea. După ce a plecat de la mine vedenia pe care o văzusem,

25 A nd I spoke unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had shewn me.

am istorisit exilaţilor toate cuvintele Domnului, care-mi fuseseră descoperite.
