1 A fter these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. And he manifested thus.

Después de esto, Jesús se manifestó otra vez a sus discípulos junto al Mar de Tiberias; y se manifestó de esta manera:

2 T here were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael who was of Cana of Galilee, and the of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

Estaban juntos Simón Pedro, Tomás, llamado el Dídimo, Natanael, el de Caná de Galilea, los hijos de Zebedeo y otros dos de sus discípulos.

3 S imon Peter says to them, I go to fish. They say to him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and went on board, and that night took nothing.

Simón Pedro les dijo: —Voy a pescar. Ellos le dijeron: —Vamos nosotros también contigo. Salieron, pues, y entraron en una barca; pero aquella noche no pescaron nada.

4 A nd early morn already breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; the disciples however did not know that it was Jesus.

Cuando ya iba amaneciendo, se presentó Jesús en la playa, pero los discípulos no sabían que era Jesús.

5 J esus therefore says to them, Children, have ye anything to eat? They answered him, No.

Y les dijo: —Hijitos, ¿tenéis algo de comer? Le respondieron: —¡No!

6 A nd he said to them, Cast the net at the right side of the ship and ye will find. They cast therefore, and they could no longer draw it, from the multitude of fishes.

Él les dijo: —Echad la red a la derecha de la barca y hallaréis. Entonces la echaron, y ya no la podían sacar, por la gran cantidad de peces.

7 T hat disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, It is the Lord. Simon Peter therefore, having heard that it was the Lord, girded his overcoat (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea;

Entonces aquel discípulo a quien Jesús amaba dijo a Pedro: —¡Es el Señor! Simón Pedro, cuando oyó que era el Señor, se ciñó la ropa (porque se había despojado de ella) y se tiró al mar.

8 a nd the other disciples came in the small boat, for they were not far from the land, but somewhere about two hundred cubits, dragging the net of fishes.

Los otros discípulos fueron con la barca, arrastrando la red llena de peces, pues no distaban de tierra sino como doscientos codos.

9 W hen therefore they went out on the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

Al descender a tierra, vieron brasas puestas y un pescado encima de ellas, y pan.

10 J esus says to them, Bring of the fishes which ye have now taken.

Jesús les dijo: —Traed de los peces que acabáis de sacar.

11 S imon Peter went up and drew the net to the land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not rent.

Subió Simón Pedro y sacó la red a tierra, llena de grandes peces, ciento cincuenta y tres; y aun siendo tantos, la red no se rompió.

12 J esus says to them, Come dine. But none of the disciples dared inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Les dijo Jesús: —Venid, comed. Y ninguno de los discípulos se atrevía a preguntarle: «¿Tú, quién eres?», sabiendo que era el Señor.

13 J esus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish in like manner.

Vino, pues, Jesús, y tomó el pan y les dio, y asimismo del pescado.

14 T his is already the third time that Jesus had been manifested to the disciples, being risen from among dead.

Ésta era ya la tercera vez que Jesús se manifestaba a sus discípulos, después de haber resucitado de los muertos. Apacienta mis ovejas

15 W hen therefore they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Feed my lambs.

Después de comer, Jesús dijo a Simón Pedro: —Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas más que estos? Le respondió: —Sí, Señor; tú sabes que te quiero. Él le dijo: —Apacienta mis corderos.

16 H e says to him again a second time, Simon, of Jonas, lovest thou me? He says to him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. He says to him, Shepherd my sheep.

Volvió a decirle la segunda vez: —Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas? Pedro le respondió: —Sí, Señor; tú sabes que te quiero. Le dijo: —Pastorea mis ovejas.

17 H e says to him the third time, Simon, of Jonas, art thou attached to me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Art thou attached to me? and said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I am attached to thee. Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

Le dijo la tercera vez: —Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me quieres? Pedro se entristeció de que le dijera por tercera vez: «¿Me quieres?», y le respondió: —Señor, tú lo sabes todo; tú sabes que te quiero. Jesús le dijo: —Apacienta mis ovejas.

18 V erily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst where thou desiredst; but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and bring thee where thou dost not desire.

De cierto, de cierto te digo: Cuando eras más joven, te ceñías e ibas a donde querías; pero cuando ya seas viejo, extenderás tus manos y te ceñirá otro, y te llevará a donde no quieras.

19 B ut he said this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he says to him, Follow me.

Esto dijo dando a entender con qué muerte había de glorificar a Dios. Y dicho esto, añadió: —Sígueme. El discípulo amado

20 P eter, turning round, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned at supper on his breast, and said, Lord, who is it that delivers thee up?

Volviéndose Pedro, vio que los seguía el discípulo a quien amaba Jesús, el mismo que en la cena se había recostado al lado de él y le había dicho: «Señor, ¿quién es el que te ha de entregar?»

21 P eter, seeing him, says to Jesus, Lord, and what this ?

Cuando Pedro lo vio, dijo a Jesús: —Señor, ¿y qué de éste?

22 J esus says to him, If I will that he abide until I come, what to thee? Follow thou me.

Jesús le dijo: —Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo vuelva, ¿qué a ti? Sígueme tú.

23 T his word therefore went out among the brethren, That disciple does not die. And Jesus did not say to him, He does not die; but, If I will that he abide until I come, what to thee?

Se extendió entonces entre los hermanos el rumor de que aquel discípulo no moriría. Pero Jesús no le dijo que no moriría, sino: «Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo vuelva, ¿qué a ti?»

24 T his is the disciple who bears witness concerning these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his witness is true.

Éste es el discípulo que da testimonio de estas cosas, y escribió estas cosas; y sabemos que su testimonio es verdadero.

25 A nd there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would contain the books written.

Hay también otras muchas cosas que hizo Jesús, las cuales, si se escribieran una por una, pienso que ni aun en el mundo cabrían los libros que se habrían de escribir. Amén.
