1 J ehovah, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.

Jehová, escucha mi oración y llegue a ti mi clamor.

2 H ide not thy face from me: in the day of my trouble, incline thine ear unto me; in the day I call, answer me speedily.

No escondas de mí tu rostro en el día de mi angustia; inclina a mí tu oído; apresúrate a responderme el día que te invoque,

3 F or my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as a firebrand.

porque mis días se desvanecen como el humo y mis huesos cual tizón están quemados.

4 M y heart is smitten and withered like grass; yea, I have forgotten to eat my bread.

Mi corazón está herido y seco como la hierba, por lo cual me olvido de comer mi pan.

5 B y reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my flesh.

Por la voz de mi gemido mis huesos se han pegado a mi carne.

6 I am become like the pelican of the wilderness, I am as an owl in desolate places;

Soy semejante al pelícano del desierto; soy como el búho de las soledades;

7 I watch, and am like a sparrow alone upon the housetop.

Me desvelo y soy como un pájaro solitario sobre el tejado.

8 M ine enemies reproach me all the day; they that are mad against me swear by me.

Cada día me deshonran mis enemigos. Los que se burlan de mí ya se han conjurado en mi contra.

9 F or I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

Por lo cual yo como ceniza a manera de pan y mi bebida mezclo con lágrimas,

10 B ecause of thine indignation and thy wrath; for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

a causa de tu enojo y de tu ira, pues me alzaste y me has arrojado.

11 M y days are like a lengthened-out shadow, and I, I am withered like grass.

Mis días son como una sombra que se va y me he secado como la hierba.

12 B ut thou, Jehovah, abidest for ever, and thy memorial from generation to generation.

Mas tú, Jehová, permanecerás para siempre y tu memoria de generación en generación.

13 T hou wilt rise up, thou wilt have mercy upon Zion: for it is the time to be gracious to her, for the set time is come.

Te levantarás y tendrás misericordia de Sión, porque es tiempo de tener misericordia de ella, porque el plazo ha llegado,

14 F or thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour her dust.

porque tus siervos aman sus piedras y del polvo de ella tienen compasión.

15 A nd the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

Entonces las naciones temerán el nombre de Jehová y todos los reyes de la tierra tu gloria,

16 W hen Jehovah shall build up Zion, he will appear in his glory.

por cuanto Jehová habrá edificado a Sión y en su gloria será visto.

17 H e will regard the prayer of the destitute one, and not despise their prayer.

Habrá considerado la oración de los desvalidos y no habrá desechado el ruego de ellos.

18 T his shall be written for the generation to come; and a people that shall be created shall praise Jah:

Se escribirá esto para la generación venidera y el pueblo que está por nacer alabará a Jah,

19 F or he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from the heavens hath Jehovah beheld the earth,

porque miró desde lo alto de su santuario; miró Jehová desde los cielos a la tierra

20 T o hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those that are appointed to die;

para oír el gemido de los presos, para soltar a los sentenciados a muerte,

21 T hat the name of Jehovah may be declared in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem,

para que se publique en Sión el nombre de Jehová y su alabanza en Jerusalén,

22 W hen the peoples shall be gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.

cuando los pueblos y los reinos se congreguen en uno para servir a Jehová.

23 H e weakened my strength in the way, he shortened my days.

Él debilitó mi fuerza en el camino; acortó mis días.

24 I said, My God, take me not away in the midst of my days! … Thy years are from generation to generation.

Dije: «¡Dios mío, no me cortes en la mitad de mis días! ¡Por generación y generación son tus años!»

25 O f old hast thou founded the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands:

Desde el principio tú fundaste la tierra, y los cielos son obra de tus manos.

26 T hey shall perish, but thou continuest; and all of them shall grow old as a garment: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.

Ellos perecerán, mas tú permanecerás; y todos ellos como una vestidura se envejecerán, como un vestido los mudarás y serán mudados;

27 B ut thou art the Same, and thy years shall have no end.

pero tú eres el mismo y tus años no se acabarán.

28 T he children of thy servants shall abide, and their seed shall be established before thee.

Los hijos de tus siervos habitarán seguros y su descendencia será establecida delante de ti.
