1 G ive ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness for ever.

Alabad a Jehová, porque él es bueno, porque para siempre es su misericordia.

2 L et the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

Díganlo los redimidos de Jehová, los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo

3 A nd gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

y los ha congregado de las tierras, del oriente y del occidente, del norte y del sur.

4 T hey wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

Anduvieron perdidos por el desierto, por soledad sin camino, sin hallar ciudad en donde vivir.

5 H ungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

Hambrientos y sedientos, su alma desfallecía en ellos.

6 T hen they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, he delivered them out of their distresses,

Entonces clamaron a Jehová en su angustia y los libró de sus aflicciones.

7 A nd he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Los dirigió por camino derecho, para que llegaran a ciudad habitable.

8 L et them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

¡Alaben la misericordia de Jehová y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres!,

9 F or he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

porque sacia al alma menesterosa, y llena de bien al alma hambrienta.

10 S uch as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

Algunos moraban en tinieblas y en sombra de muerte, aprisionados en aflicción y en hierros,

11 B ecause they had rebelled against the words of God, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; …

por cuanto fueron rebeldes a las palabras de Jehová, y aborrecieron el consejo del Altísimo.

12 A nd he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

Por eso con el trabajo quebrantó sus corazones; cayeron, y no hubo quien los ayudara.

13 T hen they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, he saved them out of their distresses;

Luego que clamaron a Jehová en su angustia, los libró de sus aflicciones;

14 H e brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

los sacó de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte, y rompió sus prisiones.

15 L et them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

¡Alaben la misericordia de Jehová y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres!,

16 F or he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

porque quebrantó las puertas de bronce y desmenuzó los cerrojos de hierro.

17 F ools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

Fueron afligidos los insensatos a causa del camino de su rebelión y a causa de sus maldades;

18 T heir soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

su alma rechazó todo alimento y llegaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

19 T hen they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, he saveth them out of their distresses;

Pero clamaron a Jehová en su angustia y los libró de sus aflicciones.

20 H e sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

Envió su palabra y los sanó; los libró de su ruina.

21 L et them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

¡Alaben la misericordia de Jehová y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres!

22 A nd let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

¡Ofrezcan sacrificios de alabanza y publiquen sus obras con júbilo!

23 T hey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

Los que descienden al mar en naves y hacen negocio en las muchas aguas,

24 T hese see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

ellos han visto las obras de Jehová y sus maravillas en las profundidades,

25 F or he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

porque habló, e hizo levantar un viento tempestuoso que encrespa sus olas.

26 T hey mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

Suben a los cielos, descienden a los abismos; sus almas se derriten con el mal.

27 T hey reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

Tiemblan y titubean como ebrios, y toda su ciencia es inútil.

28 T hen they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

Entonces en su angustia claman a Jehová, y él los libra de sus aflicciones.

29 H e maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

Cambia la tempestad en sosiego y se apaciguan sus olas.

30 A nd they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Luego se alegran, porque se apaciguaron, y así los guía al puerto que deseaban.

31 L et them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

¡Alaben la misericordia de Jehová y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres!

32 L et them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

¡Exáltenlo en la asamblea del pueblo, y en la reunión de ancianos lo alaben!

33 H e maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

Él convierte los ríos en desierto y los manantiales de las aguas en sequedales;

34 A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

la tierra fructífera en estéril, por la maldad de los que la habitan.

35 H e maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

Vuelve el desierto en estanques de aguas y la tierra seca en manantiales.

36 A nd there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

Allí establece a los hambrientos y fundan ciudad donde vivir.

37 A nd sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

Siembran campos y plantan viñas; rinden abundante fruto.

38 A nd he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Los bendice, y se multiplican en gran manera; y no disminuye su ganado.

39 A nd they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

Luego son menoscabados y abatidos a causa de tiranía, de males y congojas.

40 H e poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

Él esparce menosprecio sobre los príncipes y los hace andar perdidos, vagabundos y sin camino.

41 B ut he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh families like flocks.

Levanta de la miseria al pobre y hace multiplicar las familias como a rebaños de ovejas.

42 T he upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

Véanlo los rectos y alégrense, y todos los malos cierren su boca.

43 W hoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.

Quien sea sabio y guarde estas cosas, entenderá las misericordias de Jehová.
