1 T hen sang Moses and the children of Israel this song to Jehovah, and spoke, saying, I will sing unto Jehovah, for he is highly exalted: The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Entonces Moisés y los hijos de Israel entonaron este cántico a Jehová: «Cantaré yo a Jehová, porque se ha cubierto de gloria; ha echado en el mar al caballo y al jinete.

2 M y strength and song is Jah, and he is become my salvation: This is my God, and I will glorify him; My father's God, and I will extol him.

Jehová es mi fortaleza y mi cántico. Ha sido mi salvación. Éste es mi Dios, a quien yo alabaré; el Dios de mi padre, a quien yo enalteceré.

3 J ehovah is a man of war; Jehovah, his name.

Jehová es un guerrero. ¡Jehová es su nombre!

4 P haraoh's chariots and his army hath he cast into the sea; His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea.

Echó al mar los carros del faraón y de su ejército. Lo mejor de sus capitanes, en el Mar Rojo se hundió.

5 T he depths covered them; they sank to the bottom as a stone.

Los abismos los cubrieron; descendieron a las profundidades como piedra.

6 T hy right hand, Jehovah, is become glorious in power: Thy right hand, Jehovah, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Tu diestra, Jehová, ha magnificado su poder. Tu diestra, Jehová, ha aplastado al enemigo.

7 A nd by the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown thine adversaries: Thou sentest forth thy burning wrath, it consumed them as stubble.

Con la grandeza de tu poder has derribado a los que se levantaron contra ti. Enviaste tu ira y los consumió como a hojarasca.

8 A nd by the breath of thy nostrils the waters were heaped up; The streams stood as a mound; The depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

Al soplo de tu aliento se amontonaron las aguas, se juntaron las corrientes como en un montón, los abismos se cuajaron en medio del mar.

9 T he enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul shall be sated upon them; I will unsheath my sword, my hand shall dispossess them.

»El enemigo dijo: “Perseguiré, apresaré, repartiré despojos; mi alma se saciará de ellos. Sacaré mi espada, los destruirá mi mano.”

10 T hou didst blow with thy breath, the sea covered them; They sank as lead in the mighty waters.

Soplaste con tu viento, los cubrió el mar; se hundieron como plomo en las impetuosas aguas.

11 W ho is like unto thee, Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like unto thee, glorifying thyself in holiness, Fearful praises, doing wonders?

¿Quién como tú, Jehová, entre los dioses? ¿Quién como tú, magnífico en santidad, terrible en maravillosas hazañas, hacedor de prodigios?

12 T hou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.

Extendiste tu diestra; la tierra los tragó.

13 T hou by thy mercy hast led forth the people that thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them by thy strength unto the abode of thy holiness.

Condujiste en tu misericordia a este pueblo que redimiste. Lo llevaste con tu poder a tu santa morada.

14 T he peoples heard it, they were afraid: A thrill seized the inhabitants of Philistia.

Lo oirán los pueblos y temblarán. El dolor se apoderará de la tierra de los filisteos.

15 T hen the princes of Edom were amazed; The mighty men of Moab, trembling hath seized them; All the inhabitants of Canaan melted away.

Entonces los caudillos de Edom se turbarán, a los valientes de Moab los asaltará temblor, se acobardarán todos los habitantes de Canaán.

16 F ear and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of thine arm they are still as a stone; Till thy people pass over, Jehovah, Till the people pass over that thou hast purchased.

¡Que caiga sobre ellos temblor y espanto! Ante la grandeza de tu brazo enmudezcan como una piedra, hasta que haya pasado tu pueblo, oh Jehová, hasta que haya pasado este pueblo que tú rescataste.

17 T hou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, The place that thou, Jehovah, hast made thy dwelling, The Sanctuary, Lord, that thy hands have prepared.

Tú los introducirás y los plantarás en el monte de tu heredad, en el lugar donde has preparado, oh Jehová, tu morada, en el santuario que tus manos, oh Jehová, han afirmado.

18 J ehovah shall reign for ever and ever!

¡Jehová reinará eternamente y para siempre!»

19 F or the horse of Pharaoh, with his chariots and with his horsemen, came into the sea, and Jehovah brought again the waters of the sea upon them; and the children of Israel went on dry through the midst of the sea.

Cuando el faraón entró cabalgando con sus carros y su gente de a caballo en el mar, Jehová hizo que las aguas del mar se volvieran contra ellos, mientras los hijos de Israel pasaron en seco por en medio del mar.

20 A nd Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the tambour in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambours and with dances.

Entonces María, la profetisa, hermana de Aarón, tomó un pandero en su mano, y todas las mujeres salieron detrás de ella con panderos y danzas.

21 A nd Miriam answered them, Sing to Jehovah, for he is highly exalted: The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Y María repetía: «Cantad a Jehová, porque se ha cubierto de gloria; ha echado en el mar al caballo y al jinete.» El agua amarga de Mara

22 A nd Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

Moisés hizo partir a Israel del Mar Rojo. Salieron al desierto de Shur y anduvieron tres días por el desierto sin hallar agua.

23 A nd they came to Marah, and could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore the name of it was called Marah.

Llegaron a Mara, pero no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara.

24 A nd the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

El pueblo se puso a murmurar contra Moisés, diciendo: «¿Qué hemos de beber?»

25 A nd he cried to Jehovah; and Jehovah shewed him wood, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There he made for them a statute and an ordinance; and there he tested them.

Entonces Moisés clamó a Jehová, y Jehová le mostró un árbol; lo echó en las aguas, y las aguas se endulzaron. Allí les dio estatutos y ordenanzas, y allí los probó.

26 A nd he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, and do what is right in his eyes, and incline thine ears to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the complaints upon thee that I have put upon the Egyptians; for I am Jehovah who healeth thee.

Les dijo: «Si escuchas atentamente la voz de Jehová, tu Dios, y haces lo recto delante de sus ojos, das oído a sus mandamientos y guardas todos sus estatutos, ninguna enfermedad de las que envié sobre los egipcios traeré sobre ti, porque yo soy Jehová, tu sanador.»

27 A nd they came to Elim; and twelve springs of water were there, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there by the waters.

Después llegaron a Elim, donde había doce fuentes de aguas y setenta palmeras, y acamparon allí junto a las aguas.
