1 T herefore thou art inexcusable, O man, every one who judgest, for in that in which thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Por eso eres inexcusable, hombre, tú que juzgas, quienquiera que seas, porque al juzgar a otro, te condenas a ti mismo, pues tú, que juzgas, haces lo mismo.

2 B ut we know that the judgment of God is according to truth upon those who do such things.

Pero sabemos que el juicio de Dios contra los que practican tales cosas es según la verdad.

3 A nd thinkest thou this, O man, who judgest those that do such things, and practisest them, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Y tú, hombre, que juzgas a los que hacen tales cosas y haces lo mismo, ¿piensas que escaparás del juicio de Dios?

4 o r despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads thee to repentance?

¿O menosprecias las riquezas de su benignidad, paciencia y generosidad, ignorando que su benignidad te guía al arrepentimiento?

5 b ut, according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up to thyself wrath, in day of wrath and revelation of righteous judgment of God,

Pero por tu dureza y por tu corazón no arrepentido, atesoras para ti mismo ira para el día de la ira y de la revelación del justo juicio de Dios,

6 w ho shall render to each according to his works:

el cual pagará a cada uno conforme a sus obras:

7 t o them who, in patient continuance of good works, seek for glory and honour and incorruptibility, life eternal.

vida eterna a los que, perseverando en hacer el bien, buscan gloria, honra e inmortalidad;

8 B ut to those that are contentious, and are disobedient to the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation,

pero ira y enojo a los que son contenciosos y no obedecen a la verdad, sino que obedecen a la injusticia.

9 t ribulation and distress, on every soul of man that works evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek;

Tribulación y angustia sobre todo ser humano que hace lo malo, sobre el judío en primer lugar, y también sobre el griego;

10 b ut glory and honour and peace to every one that works good, both to Jew first and to Greek:

en cambio, gloria, honra y paz a todo el que hace lo bueno: al judío en primer lugar y también al griego,

11 f or there is no acceptance of persons with God.

porque para Dios no hay acepción de personas.

12 F or as many as have sinned without law shall perish also without law; and as many as have sinned under law shall be judged by law,

Todos los que sin la Ley han pecado, sin la Ley también perecerán; y todos los que bajo la Ley han pecado, por la Ley serán juzgados,

13 ( for not the hearers of the law just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

pues no son los oidores de la Ley los justos ante Dios, sino que los que obedecen la Ley serán justificados.

14 F or when nations, which have no law, practise by nature the things of the law, these, having no law, are a law to themselves;

Cuando los gentiles que no tienen la Ley hacen por naturaleza lo que es de la Ley, estos, aunque no tengan la Ley, son ley para sí mismos,

15 w ho shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts accusing or else excusing themselves between themselves;)

mostrando la obra de la Ley escrita en sus corazones, dando testimonio su conciencia y acusándolos o defendiéndolos sus razonamientos

16 i n day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my glad tidings, by Jesus Christ.

en el día en que Dios juzgará por medio de Jesucristo los secretos de los hombres, conforme a mi evangelio. Los judíos y la Ley

17 B ut if thou art named a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast in God,

Tú te llamas judío, te apoyas en la Ley y te glorías en Dios;

18 a nd knowest the will, and discerningly approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

conoces su voluntad e, instruido por la Ley, apruebas lo mejor;

19 a nd hast confidence that thou thyself art a leader of the blind, a light of those who in darkness,

estás convencido de que eres guía de ciegos, luz de los que están en tinieblas,

20 a n instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and of truth in the law:

instructor de los ignorantes, maestro de niños y que tienes en la Ley la forma del conocimiento y de la verdad.

21 t hou then that teachest another, dost thou not teach thyself? thou that preachest not to steal, dost thou steal?

Tú, pues, que enseñas a otro, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo? Tú que predicas que no se ha de robar, ¿robas?

22 t hou that sayest not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

Tú que dices que no se ha de adulterar, ¿adulteras? Tú que abominas de los ídolos, ¿cometes sacrilegio?

23 t hou who boastest in law, dost thou by transgression of the law dishonour God?

Tú que te jactas de la Ley, ¿con infracción de la Ley deshonras a Dios?,

24 F or the name of God is blasphemed on your account among the nations, according as it is written.

pues, como está escrito: «El nombre de Dios es blasfemado entre los gentiles por causa de vosotros.»

25 F or circumcision indeed profits if thou keep law; but if thou be a law-transgressor, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision.

La circuncisión, en verdad, aprovecha si guardas la Ley; pero si eres transgresor de la Ley, tu circuncisión viene a ser incircuncisión.

26 I f therefore the uncircumcision keep the requirements of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision,

Por tanto, si el incircunciso guarda las ordenanzas de la Ley, ¿no será considerada su incircuncisión como circuncisión?

27 a nd uncircumcision by nature, fulfilling the law, judge thee, who, with letter and circumcision, a law-transgressor?

Y el que físicamente es incircunciso, pero guarda perfectamente la Ley, te condenará a ti, que con la letra de la Ley y la circuncisión eres transgresor de la Ley.

28 F or he is not a Jew who one outwardly, neither that circumcision which is outward in flesh;

No es judío el que lo es exteriormente, ni es la circuncisión la que se hace exteriormente en la carne;

29 b ut he a Jew inwardly; and circumcision, of the heart, in spirit, not in letter; whose praise not of men, but of God.

sino que es judío el que lo es en lo interior, y la circuncisión es la del corazón, en espíritu y no según la letra. La alabanza del tal no viene de los hombres, sino de Dios.
