1 T his is the book of Adam's generations. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.

وَهَذا هُوَ سِجِلُّ نَسلِ آدَمَ. عِنْدَما خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ، شَكَّلَهُ كَمِثالِ اللهِ.

2 M ale and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

وَخَلَقَ اللهُ النَّاسَ ذَكَراً وَأُنْثَى. وَسَمّاهُمْ أُناساً يَوْمَ خَلَقَهُمْ.

3 A nd Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot in his likeness, after his image, and called his name Seth.

وَبَعْدَ أنْ صارَ لِآدَمَ مِئَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ سَنَةً مِنَ العُمْرِ، أنجَبَ ابْناً آخَرَ كَمِثالِهِ وَصُورَتِهِ، سَمّاهُ شِيثاً.

4 A nd the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters.

وَعاشَ آدَمُ ثَمانِي مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ بَعْدَ وِلادَةِ شِيثٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

5 A nd all the days of Adam that he lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها آدَمُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَها ماتَ.

6 A nd Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.

وَعاشَ شِيثٌ مِئَةً وَخَمْسَ سِنِينٍ، وَأنجَبَ أنُوشَ.

7 A nd Seth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَعاشَ شِيثٌ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَ سِنِينَ بَعْدَ وِلادَةِ أنُوشَ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

8 A nd all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها شِيثٌ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

9 A nd Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.

وَعاشَ أنُوشُ تِسْعِينَ سَنَةً، وَأنجَبَ ابْناً سَمَّاهُ قِينانُ.

10 A nd Enosh lived after he had begotten Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعدَ وِلادَةِ قِينانَ عاشَ أنُوشُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

11 A nd all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها أنُوشُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَ سَنَواتٍ، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

12 A nd Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalaleel.

وَعاشَ قِينانُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ مَهلَلْئِيلَ.

13 A nd Cainan lived after he had begotten Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ مَهلَلْئِيلَ عاشَ قِينانُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَأربَعِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

14 A nd all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها قِينانُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَعَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

15 A nd Mahalaleel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.

وَعاشَ مَهلَلْئِيلُ خَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ يارَدَ.

16 A nd Mahalaleel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعدَ وِلادَةِ يارَدَ عاشَ مَهلَلْئِيلُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

17 A nd all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها مَهلَلْئِيلُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

18 A nd Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.

وَعاشَ يارَدُ مِئَةً وَاثْنَتَينِ وِسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ أخنُوخَ.

19 A nd Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ أخنُوخَ عاشَ يارَدُ ثَمانِي مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

20 A nd all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها يارَدُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَينِ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

21 A nd Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methushelah.

وَعاشَ أخنُوخُ خَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ مَتُوشالَحَ.

22 A nd Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ مَتُوشالَحَ سارَ أخنُوخُ فِي طَرِيقِ اللهِ ثَلاثَ مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الأثْناءِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

23 A nd all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

فَكانَ مَجْمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها أخنُوخُ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً.

24 A nd Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

وَسارَ أخنُوخُ مَعَ اللهِ، ثُمَّ اختَفَى، لأنَّ اللهَ رَفَعَهُ إلَيهِ.

25 A nd Methushelah lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lemech.

وَعاشَ مَتُوشالَحُ مِئَةً وَسَبْعاً وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ لامَكَ.

26 A nd Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ لامَكَ، عاشَ مَتُوشالَحُ سَبْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَينِ وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

27 A nd all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجْمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها مَتُوشالَحُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَتِسْعاً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ ماتَ.

28 A nd Lemech lived a hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son.

وَعاشَ لامَكُ مِئَةً وَاثْنَتَينِ وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً.

29 A nd he called his name Noah, saying, This shall comfort us concerning our work and concerning the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.

وَسَمَّى لامَكُ ابْنَهُ نُوحَ وَقالَ: «لَيتَ ابْنِي هَذا يُرِيحُنا مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلِنا وَمِنْ كُلِّ تَعَبٍ أيضاً بِسَبَبِ اللَّعْنَةِ الَّتِي وَضَعَها اللهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ.»

30 A nd Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and begot sons and daughters.

وَبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ نُوحَ عاشَ لامَكُ خَمْسَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

31 A nd all the days of Lemech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.

فَكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها لامَكُ سَبْعَ مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعاً وَسَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ ماتَ.

32 A nd Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

وَعاشَ نُوحُ خَمْسَ مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ، وَأنجَبَ سامَ وَحامَ وَيافَثَ.
