1 A nd Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead.

وَدَعا النَّبِيُّ ألِيشَعُ واحِداً مِنْ جَماعَةِ الأنْبِياءِ وَقالَ لَهُ: «اسْتَعِدَّ وَخُذْ مَعَكَ قِنِّينَةَ زَيتٍ صَغِيرَةٍ، وَاذْهَبْ إلَى جِلْعادَ.

2 A nd when thou art come thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him rise up from among his brethren, and bring him to an inner chamber;

وَعِندَما تَصِلُ إلَى هُناكَ، جِدْ ياهُو بْنَ يَهُوشافاطَ بْنِ نَمشِي. وَادخُلْ ثُمَّ أقِمْهُ مِنْ بَينِ إخْوَتِهِ. وَخُذْهُ إلَى غُرْفَةٍ داخِلِيَّةٍ.

3 t hen take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head and say, Thus saith Jehovah: I have anointed thee king over Israel; and open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

وَخُذْ قِنِّينَةَ الزَّيتِ، وَاسْكُبْهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ ياهُو. وَقُلْ: ‹هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: قَدْ مَسَحْتُكَ كَي تُصبِحَ مَلِكَ إسْرائِيلَ الجَدِيدَ.› ثُمَّ افتَحِ البابَ وَاهْرُبْ. أسْرِعْ وَلا تَتَباطَأْ!»

4 A nd the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth-Gilead.

فانطَلَقَ النَّبِيُّ الشّابُّ إلَى رامُوتَ جِلْعادَ.

5 A nd when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting. And he said, I have an errand to thee, captain. And Jehu said, To which of all of us? And he said, To thee, captain.

وَلَمّا وَصَلَ، رَأى قادَةَ الجَيشِ جالِسِينَ، فَقالَ: «أيُّها القائِدُ، عِندِي رِسالَةٌ لَكَ.» فَقالَ ياهُو: «لِمَنْ مِنّا الرِّسالَةُ؟» فَقالَ النَّبِيُّ الشّابُّ: «لَكَ أنتَ يا سَيِّدِي.»

6 A nd he rose up and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: I have anointed thee king over the people of Jehovah, over Israel.

فَقامَ ياهُو وَدَخَلَ البَيتَ. فَسَكَبَ النَّبِيُّ الشّابُ زَيتاً عَلَى رَأْسِ ياهُو وَقالَ لَهُ: «يَقُولُ اللهُ إلَهُ إسْرائِيلَ: ‹أنا أمسَحُكَ لِتَصِيرَ مَلِكاً عَلَى شَعبِ اللهِ ، إسْرائِيلَ.

7 A nd thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master; and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah at the hand of Jezebel.

فَاقضِي عَلَى عائِلَةِ سَيِّدِكَ أخآبَ، وَهَكَذا أُعاقِبُ إيزابَلَ عَلَى قَتلِ خُدّامِي الأنبِياءِ، وَقَتلِ جَمِيعِ خُدّامِ اللهِ.

8 A nd the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, and him that is shut up and left in Israel.

يَنبغِي أنْ تَمُوتَ عائِلَةِ أخآبَ كُلِّها، وَلا يَبقَى مِنْهُمْ ذَكَرٌ حَيّاً فِي إسْرائِيلَ، حُرّاً أمْ عَبْداً.

9 A nd I will make the house of Ahab as the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

وَهَكَذا أجعَلُ عائِلَةَ أخآبَ مِثلَ عائِلَةِ يَرُبْعامَ بْنِ ناباطَ، وَمِثلَ عائِلَةِ بَعْشا بْنِ أخِيّا.

10 A nd the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the plot of Jizreel, and none shall bury her. And he opened the door and fled.

وَسَتَأْكُلُ الكِلابُ إيزابَلَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ يَزرَعِيلَ، وَلَنْ تُدفَنَ.›» ثُمَّ فَتَحَ النَّبِيُّ الشّابُّ البابَ وَهَرَبَ. الخُدّامُ يُعلِنُونَ ياهُو مَلِكاً

11 A nd Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord. And one said to him, Is all well? why came this madman to thee? And he said to them, Ye know the man, and his mind.

وَرَجِعَ ياهُو إلَى خُدّامِ مَلِكِهِ. فَقالَ أحَدُهُمْ لِياهُو: «هَلْ كُلُّ شَيءٍ عَلَى ما يُرامُ؟ لِماذا أتَى هَذا الرَّجُلُ المَجنُونُ إلَيكَ؟» فَأجابَ ياهُو: «أنتُمْ تَعرِفُونَ الرَّجُلَ وَالأشياءَ الغَرِيبَةَ الَّتِي يَقُولُهُا.»

12 A nd they said, It is false! tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spoke he to me saying, Thus saith Jehovah: I have anointed thee king over Israel.

فَقالُوا لَهُ: «لا تَكْذِبْ! قُلِ الحَقِيقَةَ.» فَقالَ «هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ لِي: ‹يَقُولُ اللهُ قَدْ مَسَحْتُكَ مَلِكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ.›»

13 T hen they hasted and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the very stairs, and blew with trumpets, and said, Jehu is king!

فَخَلَعَ كُلُّ خادِمٍ مِنْهُمْ ثَوْبَهُ وَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى الدَّرَجِ أمامَ ياهُو. ثُمَّ نَفَخُوا فِي الأبواقِ وَقالُوا: «صارَ ياهُو مَلِكاً!» ياهُو يَذْهَبُ إلَى يَزرَعِيل

14 A nd Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. (Now Joram kept Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

وَتَمَرَّدَ ياهُو بْنُ يَهُوشافاطَ بْنِ نَمْشِي عَلَى يُورامَ. فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، كانَ يُورامُ وَبَنُو إسْرائِيلَ يُحاوِلُونَ الدِّفاعَ عَنْ رامُوتِ جِلْعادَ ضِدَّ حَزائِيلَ مَلِكِ أرامَ.

15 a nd king Joram had returned to be healed in Jizreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your will, let not a fugitive escape out of the city to go to tell in Jizreel.

وَكانَ المَلِكُ يُورامُ قَدْ حارَبَ حَزائِيلَ، مَلِكَ أرامَ. لَكِنَّ الأرامِيِّينَ جَرَحُوا المَلِكَ يُورامَ، فَذَهَبَ إلَى يَزْرَعِيلَ لِيَتَعافَى مِنْ جِراحِهِ. فَقالَ ياهُو لِخُدّامِ المَلِكِ: «مادُمْتُمْ قَبِلْتُمُونِي مَلِكاً، فَلا تَسْمَحُوا لأحَدٍ بِأنْ يَهرُبَ مِنَ المَدِينَةِ لِيَنْشُرَ الخَبَرَ فِي يَزرَعِيلَ.»

16 A nd Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jizreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

وَكانَ يُورامُ يَقْضِي فَتْرَةَ نَقاهَةٍ فِي يَزرَعِيلَ. فَرَكِبَ ياهُو مَرْكَبَتَهُ وَذَهَبَ إلَيهِ. وَكانَ المَلِكُ أخَزْيا مَلِكُ يَهُوذا، قَدْ جاءَ أيضاً لِيَزُورَ يُورامَ.

17 A nd the watchman stood on the tower in Jizreel, and saw Jehu's company as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

وَكانَ حارِسٌ واقِفاً عَلَى البُرجِ فِي يَزرَعِيلَ. فَرَأى جَماعَةَ ياهُو الكَبِيرَةَ آتِيَةً. فَقالَ: «أرَى جَماعَةً كَبِيرَةً مِنَ النّاسِ!» فَقالَ يُورامُ: «أرسِلْ فارِساً لِلِقائِهِمْ، وَاطلُبْ إلَيهِ أنْ يَسألَهُمْ هَل هُم قادِمُونَ فِي سَلامٍ.»

18 S o there went one on horseback to meet him; and he said, Thus saith the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told saying, The messenger came to them, and he does not return.

فامتَطَى الرَّسُولُ حِصاناً لِمُلاقاةِ ياهُو، وَقالَ: «يَسْألُ المَلِكُ يُورامُ: ‹هَلْ أنتُمْ قادِمُونَ فِي سَلامٍ؟›» فَقالَ لَهُ ياهُو: «أيُّ سَلامٍ هَذا؟ تَعالَ وَاتبَعْنِي.» فَقالَ الحارِسُ لِيُورامَ: «ذَهَبَ الرَّسُولُ إلَى الجَماعَةِ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَعُدْ بَعْدُ.»

19 A nd he sent out a second on horseback; and he came to them and said, Thus saith the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

فَأرسَلَ يُورامُ فارِساً آخَرَ. فَجاءَ الفارِسُ إلَى جَماعَةِ ياهُو وَقالَ: «يَقُولُ المَلِكُ يُورامُ: ‹هَلْ أنتُمْ قادِمُونَ فِي سَلامٍ؟›» فَأجابَ ياهُو: «أيُّ سَلامٍ هَذا؟ تَعالَ وَاتبَعْنِي.»

20 A nd the watchman told saying, He came to them, and does not return. And the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.

فَقالَ الحارِسُ لِيُورامَ: «ذَهَبَ الرَّسُولُ الثّانِي إلَى الجَماعَةِ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَعُدْ بَعدُ. وَهُناكَ رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ مَرْكَبَتَهُ بِجُنُونٍ عَلَى طَرِيقَةِ ياهُو بْنِ نَمْشِي.»

21 T hen Joram said, Make ready! And they made ready his chariot. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and met him in the plot of Naboth the Jizreelite.

فَقالَ يُورامُ: «هاتُوا لِي مَركَبَتِي!» فَأحضَرَ الخادِمُ مَركَبَةَ يُورامَ. فَرَكِبَ كُلٌّ مِنْ يُورامَ، مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ وَأخَزْيا مَلِكِ يَهُوذا مَرْكَبَتَهُ. وَخَرَجَ الاثْنانِ لِلِقاءِ ياهُو. فَقابَلاهُ عِنْدَ حَقلِ نابُوتَ اليَزرَعِيلِيِّ.

22 A nd it came to pass when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he said, What peace, so long as the fornications of thy mother Jezebel and her sorceries are so many?

فَسَألَ يُورامُ ياهُو: «هَلْ أنتَ قادِمٌ فِي سَلامٍ؟» فَأجابَ ياهُو: «لا سَلامَ ما دامَتْ أُمُّكَ تُمارِسُ أعمالَ العُهْرِ وَالسِّحْرِ!»

23 T hen Joram turned his hand, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, Treachery, Ahaziah!

فَغَيَّرَ يُورامُ اتِّجاهَ مَرْكَبَتِهِ لِيَهرُبَ، وَقالَ لِأخَزْيا: «إنَّها خِيانَةٌ يا أخَزْيا!»

24 A nd Jehu took his bow in his hand, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out through his heart; and he sank down in his chariot.

فَأمسَكَ ياهُو بِقَوْسِهِ. وَأطلَقَ سَهْماً عَلَى يُورامَ. فَأصابَهُ فِي مُنتَصَفِ ظَهْرِهِ مُختَرِقاً قَلْبَهُ. فَسَقَطَ يُورامُ فِي مَركَبَتِهِ مَيِّتاً.

25 A nd he said to Bidkar his captain, Take him up cast him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jizreelite. For remember how, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, that Jehovah laid this burden upon him:

ثُمَّ قالَ ياهُو لِبَدْقَرَ، سائِقِ المَركَبَةِ: «خُذْ جُثَّةَ يُورامَ وَارمِها فِي حَقلِ نابُوتَ اليَزرَعِيلِيِّ. فَلَعَلَّكَ تَذكُرُ أنَّنِي عِندَما رَكِبْتُ مَعَكَ وَراءَ أخآبَ إلَى يُورامَ، قالَ اللهُ إنَّ هَذا سَيَكُونُ مَصِيرَهُ.

26 C ertainly I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith Jehovah; and I will requite thee in this plot, saith Jehovah. And now, take cast him into the plot, according to the word of Jehovah.

فَقَدْ قالَ اللهُ: ‹بِالأمْسِ رَأيتُ دَمَ نابُوتَ وَأولادِهِ. لِهَذا سَأُعاقِبُكَ، يا أخآبُ، فِي هَذا الحَقلِ نَفسِهِ.› هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. فَخُذْ جُثَّةَ يُورامَ وَارْمِها فِي الحَقلِ، كَما قالَ اللهُ.»

27 W hen Ahaziah king of Judah saw, he fled by the way of the garden-house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in his chariot. It was on the ascent of Gur, which is by Jibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

فَلَمّا رَأى المَلِكُ أخَزْيا هَذا، حاوَلَ الهَرَبَ. فَسَلَكَ طَرِيقَ «بَيْتِ البُسْتانِ.» فَطارَدَهُ ياهُو، وَقالَ: «اقتُلُوا أخَزْيا أيضاً!» فَأُصِيبَ أخَزْيا فِي مَرْكَبَتِهِ عَلَى طَرِيقِ عَقْبَةِ جُورَ قُرْبَ يِبلَعامَ. لَكِنَّهُ وَاصَلَ الهَرَبَ حَتَّى مَجِدُّو، وَهُناكَ ماتَ.

28 A nd his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

فَحَمَلَ خُدّامُهُ جُثَّتَهُ فِي المَركَبَةِ إلَى مَدِينَةِ القُدْسِ، وَدَفَنُوهُ هُناكَ مَعَ آبائِهِ فِي مَدِينَةِ داوُدَ.

29 ( And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab had Ahaziah begun to reign over Judah.)

كانَ أخَزْيا قَدْ صارَ مَلِكاً عَلَى يَهُوذا فِي السَّنَةِ الحادِيَةَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ حُكْمِ يُورامَ لإسْرائِيلَ. إيزابَلُ تَمُوتُ ميتةً شَنِيعة

30 A nd Jehu came to Jizreel; and Jezebel heard of it, and she put paint to her eyes, and decked her head, and looked out at the window.

وَذَهَبَ ياهُو إلَى يَزْرَعِيلَ. فَسَمِعَتْ إيزابَلُ بِالخَبَرِ. فَوَضَعَتْ مَساحِيقَ تَجمِيلٍ عَلَى وَجهِها وَرَتَّبَتْ شَعرَها. ثُمَّ وَقَفَتْ عِندَ النّافِذَةِ وَنَظَرَتْ مِنْها.

31 A nd when Jehu came in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of his master?

فَلَمّا دَخَلَ ياهُو المَدِينَةَ، قالَتْ لَهُ إيزابِيلُ: «أجِئْتَ للسَّلامِ يا مَنْ قَتَلَ سَيِّدَهُ كَما فَعَلَ زِمْري؟»

32 A nd he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And two or three chamberlains looked out to him.

فَتَطَلَّعَ ياهُو إلَى النّافِذَةِ، وَنادَى: «مَنْ مَعِي؟» فَأطَلَّ اثْنانِ أوْ ثَلاثَةُ خُدّامٍ مِنَ النّافِذَةِ.

33 A nd he said, Throw her down! And they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses; and he trampled on her.

فَقالَ لَهُمْ ياهُو: «اطْرَحُوا إيزابَلَ إلَى أسْفَلَ!» فَطَرَحَها الخُدّامُ إلَى أسْفَلَ. فَتَطايَرَ دَمُها عَلَى السُّورِ وَعَلَى الخُيُولِ، فَداسَتْها.

34 A nd he came in, and ate and drank; and he said, Go, look, I pray you, after this cursed, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.

بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، دَخَلَ ياهُو البَيتَ وَأكَلَ وَشَرِبَ. ثُمَّ قالَ: «انْظُرُوا فِي أمْرِ هَذِهِ المَرأةِ اللَّعِينَةِ، وَادفِنُوها فَهِيَ بِنْتُ مَلِكٍ.»

35 A nd they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.

فَذَهَبَ الرِّجالُ لِيَدفِنُوا إيزابَلَ، لَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَجِدُوا جُثَّتَها. وَوَجَدُوا الجُمجُمَةَ وَالقَدَمَينِ وَراحَتَي اليَدَينِ.

36 A nd they came back and told him. And he said, This is the word of Jehovah, which he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite saying, In the plot of Jizreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;

فَرَجِعَ الرِّجالُ وَأخبَرُوا ياهُو. فَقالَ ياهُو: «أمَرَ اللهُ عَبْدَهُ إيلِيّا التَّشْبِيّ أنْ يُوصِلَ هَذِهِ الرِّسالَةَ حَيثُ قالَ: ‹سَتَأْكُلُ الكِلابُ جُثَّةَ إيزابَلَ فِي يَزرَعِيلَ.

37 a nd the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the open field in the plot of Jizreel, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

فَتَصِيرُ جُثَّتَها كَالزِّبلِ عَلَى الحَقلِ، حَتَّى لا يَستَطِيعُ أحَدٌ أنْ يُمَيِّزَها!›»
