1 I rejoiced when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of Jehovah.

فَرِحتُ بِالقائِلِينَ: «هَيّا نَصعَدُ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ.»

2 O ur feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

نَقِفُ عِندَ بَوّاباتِكِ يا قُدسُ.

3 J erusalem, which art built as a city that is compact together,

نَعَمْ، القُدسُ المَدِينَةُ الَّتِي بُنِيَتْ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ مَدِينَةً مُوَحَّدَةً واحِدَةً.

4 W hither the tribes go up, the tribes of Jah, a testimony to Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

تَصعِدُ القَبائِلُ إلَى هُناكَ، قَبائِلُ يهوه لِيَحمَدُوا اسْمَ يهوه، بِحَسَبِ فَرائِضِهِ لِبَنِي إسرائِيلَ.

5 F or there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

لأنَّهُ هُناكَ تُقامُ عُرُوشُ العَدلِ، عُرُوشُ نَسلِ داوُدَ.

6 P ray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

صَلُّوا مِنْ أجلِ سَلامِ القُدسِ. قُولُوا: «لَيتَ مُحِبِّيكِ يَنعَمُونَ بِالسَّلامِ!

7 P eace be within thy bulwarks, prosperity within thy palaces.

لَيتَ السَّلامَ يَسكُنُ داخِلَ أسوارِكِ وَقُصُورِكِ.»

8 F or my brethren and companions' sakes I will say, Peace be within thee!

مِنْ أجلِ السَّلامِ فِي القُدسِ أُصَلِّي، مِنْ أجلِ إخْوَتِي وَجِيرانِي.

9 B ecause of the house of Jehovah our God I will seek thy good.

أطلُبُ لَكِ خَيراً مِنْ أجلِ بَيتِ إلَهِنا.
