1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let’s go to Yahweh’s house!”

فَرِحتُ بِالقائِلِينَ: «هَيّا نَصعَدُ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ.»

2 O ur feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem;

نَقِفُ عِندَ بَوّاباتِكِ يا قُدسُ.

3 J erusalem, that is built as a city that is compact together;

نَعَمْ، القُدسُ المَدِينَةُ الَّتِي بُنِيَتْ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ مَدِينَةً مُوَحَّدَةً واحِدَةً.

4 w here the tribes go up, even Yah’s tribes, according to an ordinance for Israel, to give thanks to Yahweh’s name.

تَصعِدُ القَبائِلُ إلَى هُناكَ، قَبائِلُ يهوه لِيَحمَدُوا اسْمَ يهوه، بِحَسَبِ فَرائِضِهِ لِبَنِي إسرائِيلَ.

5 F or there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of David’s house.

لأنَّهُ هُناكَ تُقامُ عُرُوشُ العَدلِ، عُرُوشُ نَسلِ داوُدَ.

6 P ray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper.

صَلُّوا مِنْ أجلِ سَلامِ القُدسِ. قُولُوا: «لَيتَ مُحِبِّيكِ يَنعَمُونَ بِالسَّلامِ!

7 P eace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.

لَيتَ السَّلامَ يَسكُنُ داخِلَ أسوارِكِ وَقُصُورِكِ.»

8 F or my brothers’ and companions’ sakes, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”

مِنْ أجلِ السَّلامِ فِي القُدسِ أُصَلِّي، مِنْ أجلِ إخْوَتِي وَجِيرانِي.

9 F or the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek your good.

أطلُبُ لَكِ خَيراً مِنْ أجلِ بَيتِ إلَهِنا.
