1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

فَرِحتُ بِالقائِلِينَ: «هَيّا نَصعَدُ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ.»

2 O ur feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

نَقِفُ عِندَ بَوّاباتِكِ يا قُدسُ.

3 J erusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

نَعَمْ، القُدسُ المَدِينَةُ الَّتِي بُنِيَتْ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ مَدِينَةً مُوَحَّدَةً واحِدَةً.

4 w hither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.

تَصعِدُ القَبائِلُ إلَى هُناكَ، قَبائِلُ يهوه لِيَحمَدُوا اسْمَ يهوه، بِحَسَبِ فَرائِضِهِ لِبَنِي إسرائِيلَ.

5 F or there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

لأنَّهُ هُناكَ تُقامُ عُرُوشُ العَدلِ، عُرُوشُ نَسلِ داوُدَ.

6 P ray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

صَلُّوا مِنْ أجلِ سَلامِ القُدسِ. قُولُوا: «لَيتَ مُحِبِّيكِ يَنعَمُونَ بِالسَّلامِ!

7 P eace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

لَيتَ السَّلامَ يَسكُنُ داخِلَ أسوارِكِ وَقُصُورِكِ.»

8 F or my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

مِنْ أجلِ السَّلامِ فِي القُدسِ أُصَلِّي، مِنْ أجلِ إخْوَتِي وَجِيرانِي.

9 B ecause of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

أطلُبُ لَكِ خَيراً مِنْ أجلِ بَيتِ إلَهِنا.
