1 G reat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

عَظِيمٌ هُوَ اللهُ وَمُستَحِقٌّ كُلَّ تَسبِيحٍ فِي مَدِينَةِ إلَهِنا، حَيثُ جَبَلُهُ المُقَدَّسُ.

2 B eautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

القُدسُ جَمِيلَةُ الارتِفاعِ، وَهِيَ فَرَحُ لِلأرْضِ كُلِّها. جَبَلُ صِهْيَوْنُ كَقِمَّةِ صافُونَ. القُدسُ مَدِينَةُ المَلِكِ العَظِيمِ.

3 G od is known in her palaces for a refuge.

فِي حُصُونِها أظهَرَ اللهُ أنَّهُ مَلجَأٌ.

4 F or, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

فَحِينَ احتَشَدَ المُلُوكُ الغُرَباءُ لإفنائِها.

5 T hey saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

رَأَوْها فَدُهِشُوا وَفَزِعُوا وَهَرَبُوا.

6 F ear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

خافُوا وَارتَعَدُوا. كامرَأةٍ أمسَكَتْ بِها آلامُ الوِلادَةِ.

7 T hou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

كَالرِّيحِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ الَّتِي تُحَطِّمُ السُّفُنَ العَظِيمَةَ.

8 A s we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

رَأينا قُوَّةَ اللهِ تَماماً كَما سَمِعْنا عَنها. فِي مَدِينَةِ اللهِ القَدِيرِ فِي مَدِينَةِ إلَهِنا. يُثَبِّتُها اللهُ إلَى الأبَدِ. سِلاهْ

9 W e have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

بِرَحْمَتِكَ نَحتَفِلُ يا اللهُ فِي وَسَطِ هَيكَلِكَ.

10 A ccording to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

وَكَما ذاعَ اسْمُكَ، لِيُذَعْ تَسبِيحُكَ فِي كُلِّ الأرْضِ أيضاً. لِيَعرِفِ الجَمِيعُ أنَّكَ مُمتَلِئٌ بِالبِرِّ وَالصَّلاحِ.

11 L et mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

لَيتَ النّاسَ عَلَى جَبَلِ صِهْيَوْنَ يَبتَهِجُونَ، وَلَيتَ مُدُنَ يَهُوذا تَبتَهِجُ بِأحكامِكَ الصّالِحَةِ.

12 W alk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

طُوفُوا حَولَ صِهْيَوْنَ، وَتَأمَّلُوا المَدِينَةَ. أحْصُوا كُلَّ أبْراجِها.

13 M ark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

تَأمَّلُوا أسوارَها وَتَغَزَّلُوا بِقُصُورِها، لِكَي تُحَدِّثُوا عَنها أجيالاً قادِمَةً.

14 F or this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

لأنَّ اللهَ هُوَ إلَهُنا إلَى الأبَدِ. وَهُوَ يَهدِينا حَتَّى عَبْرَ المَوتِ.
