1 C hildren, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

أيُّها الأبناءُ، أطِيعُوا آباءَكُمْ وَأُمَّهاتِكُمُ انسِجاماً مَعَ طاعَتِكُمْ لِلرَّبِّ. فَهَذا أمرٌ لائِقٌ بِكُمْ.

2 H onour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

«أكرِمْ أباكَ وَأُمَّكَ.» وَهَذِهِ أوَّلُ وَصِيَّةٍ مَصحُوبَةٍ بِوَعدٍ. وَالوَعدُ هُوَ:

3 t hat it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

«لِكَيْ تَكُونَ مُوَفَّقاً فِي حَياتِكَ، وَيَطُولَ عُمرُكَ عَلَى الأرْضِ.»

4 A nd, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

أيُّها الآباءُ، لا تُغِيظُوا أبناءَكُمْ، بَلْ رَبُّوهُمْ بِالتَّدرِيبِ وَالإرشادِ اللَذينِ يَتَوافَقانِ وَإرادَةِ الرَّبِّ. العَبيدُ وَالأسياد

5 S ervants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

أيُّها العَبيدُ، أطِيعُوا سادَتَكُمُ الأرْضِيِّينَ باحتِرامٍ وَهَيْبَةٍ، وَاخدِمُوهُمْ بِإخلاصٍ منْ قُلُوبِكُمْ، كَأنَّكُمْ تَخدِمُونَ المَسِيحَ.

6 n ot with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

وَلا تَعمَلُوا فَقَطْ حِينَ تَكُونُونَ تَحتَ مُراقَبَةِ أسيادِكُمْ لِكَيْ تُرضُوهُمْ، بَلِ كَما يَلِيقُ بِخُدّامِ المَسِيحِ الَّذِينَ يَعمَلُونَ مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ.

7 w ith good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

فَاعمَلُوا بِفَرَحٍ حاسِبِينَ أنَّكُمْ تَخدِمُونَ الرَّبَّ، لا النّاسَ.

8 k nowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

وَتَذَكَّرُوا أنَّ الرَّبَّ سَيُجازِي كُلَّ واحِدٍ مِنكُمْ عَلَى الخَيرِ الَّذِي يَصنَعُهُ، سَواءٌ أكانَ عَبداً أمْ حُرّاً.

9 A nd, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

أمّا أنتُمْ أيُّها الأسيادُ، فَعامِلُوا عَبِيدَكُمْ بِالطَّرِيقَةِ نَفسِها، فَلا تَلجَأُوا إلَى تَهْديدِهِمْ، مُتَذَكِّرينَ أنَّ سَيِّدَكُمْ وَسَيِّدَهُمْ واحِدٌ، وَهُوَ مَوجُودٌ فِي السَّماءِ، وَلا يَتَحَيَّزُ لِأحَدٍ. البَسُوا سِلاحَ اللهِ بِكامِلِه

10 F inally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

وَفِي الخِتامِ أقُولُ لَكُمْ: تَحَصَّنُوا بِالرَّبِّ وَبِقُوَّتِهِ الهائِلَةِ.

11 P ut on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

البَسُوا سِلاحَ اللهِ بِكامِلِهِ، لِكَي تَقدِرُوا عَلَى الصُّمُودِ أمامَ مَكائِدِ إبلِيسَ.

12 F or we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

فَكِفاحُنا لَيسَ ضِدَّ بَشَرٍ، بَلْ ضِدَّ الحُكّامِ وَالسُّلُطاتِ وَالقُوَى الكَونِيَّةِ فِي ظُلْمَةِ هَذا العالَمِ، وَضِدَّ القُوّاتِ الرُّوحِيَّةِ الشَّرِّيرَةِ فِي العالَمِ السَّماوِيِّ.

13 W herefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

لِذَلِكَ تَقَلَّدُوا سِلاحَ اللهِ بِكامِلِهِ، وَهَكَذا تَكُونُونَ قادِرِينَ عَلَى المُقاوَمَةِ عِندَ مَجِيءٍ اليَومِ الشِّرِّيْرِ. وَبَعدَ أنْ تُحارِبُوا إلَى النِّهايَةِ، كُونوا صامِدِينَ.

14 S tand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

فَاصمِدوا مُتَحَزِّمينَ بِالحَقَّ، لابِسينَ البِرَّ دِرعا،

15 a nd your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

جاعِلينَ مِنَ استِعدادِكُمْ لإعلانِ بِشارَةِ السَّلامِ حِذاءً لِأرجُلِكُمْ.

16 a bove all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

وَفَوقَ هَذا كُلِّهِ، احمِلوا الإيمانَ تُرساً تَنطَفِئُ عَلَيهِ كُلُّ سِهامِ الشِّرِّيْرِ المُلتَهِبَةِ.

17 A nd take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

واضِعينَ الخَلاصَ خُوذَةً، وَمُشْهِرينَ كَلِمَةَ اللهِ سَيفاً لِلرُّوحِ،

18 p raying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

مُصَلَّينَ بِمَعُونَةِ الرُّوحِ فِي كُلِّ وَقتٍ وَفِي كُلِّ أمرٍ. انتَبِهُوا لِأهَمِّيَّةِ الصَّلاةِ، مُثابِرينَ عَلَيها دائماً مِنْ أجلِ كُلِّ المُؤمِنِينَ،

19 a nd for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

وَمِنْ أجلِي أنا أيضاً، لِكَيْ يُعطِيَنِي اللهُ رِسالَةً مُناسِبَةً كُلَّما أُتِيحَتْ لِي فُرصَةُ الكَلامِ، لِكَيْ أُعَلِّمَ النّاسَ بِجُرأةٍ بِسِرِّ البِشارَةِ،

20 f or which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

الَّتي أنا سَفِيرٌ لَها مُقَيَّدٌ فِي سَلاسِلَ، لِكَيْ أتَمَكَّنَ مِنْ إيصالِها بِشَجاعَةٍ، وَكَما يَنبَغِي. تَحِيّاتٌ أخِيرَة

21 B ut that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

سَيُخبِرُكُمْ تِيخِيكُسُ كُلَّ شَيءٍ عَنْ أحوالِي وَعَمّا أفعَلُ، لِأنِّي أُرِيدُكُمْ أنْ تَطمَئِنُّوا عَلَيَّ. وَتِيخِيكُسُ أخٌ مَحبُوبٌ خادِمٌ أمينٌ فِي عَمَلِ الرَّبِّ.

22 w hom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

وَها أنا أُرسِلُهُ إلَيكُمْ لِكَي تَعرِفُوا مِنهُ أحوالَنا، وَلِكَيْ يُشَجِّعَكُمْ.

23 P eace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

لِيُمَتِّعْكُمُ اللهُ الآبُ وَالرَّبُّ يَسُوعُ المَسِيحُ بِالسَّلامِ وَالمَحَبَّةِ وَالإيمانِ.

24 G race be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Written from Rome unto the Ephesians by Tychicus.

وَلْتَكُنْ نِعمَةُ اللهِ مَعَ كُلِّ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ رَبَّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ مَحَبَّةً لا تَزُولُ.
