1 G od is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

مَلجَأُنا وَقُوَّتُنا هُوَ اللهُ. هُوَ مُعِينٌ يَسهُلُ إلَيهِ الوُصُولُ فِي الضِّيقاتِ.

2 T herefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

لِهَذا لا نَخافُ حَتَّى لَو تَزَلْزَلَتِ الأرْضُ وَسَقَطَتِ الجِبالُ فِي البَحرِ.

3 t hough the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

حَتَّى لَو هاجَتِ البِحارُ وَماجَتْ وَهَزَّ كِبرِياؤُها الجِبالَ. سِلاهْ

4 T here is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

هُناكَ نَهْرٌ رَوافِدُهُ تُفَرِّحُ مَدِينَةَ اللهِ، المَسكِنَ المُقَدَّسَ للهِ العَلِيِّ.

5 G od is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

اللهُ فِي المَدِينَةِ، فَلَنْ تَسقُطَ أبَداً. اللهُ هُناكَ لِيُدافِعَ عَنها حَتَّى قَبلَ الفَجرِ.

6 T he heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

الشُّعُوبُ تَرتَعِدُ خَوفاً، وَتَسقُطُ المَمالِكُ وَتَنْحَلُّ الأرْضُ حِينَ يُرْعِدُ اللهُ بِصَوتِهِ.

7 T he Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

اللهُ القَدِيرُ مَعَنا إلَهُ يَعقُوبَ هُوَ قَلْعَتُنا. سِلاهْ

8 C ome, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

هَلُمُّوا انظُرُوا بِأنفُسِكُمْ أعْمالَ اللهِ القَوِيَّةَ. انظُرُوا أعمالَهُ الَّتِي تُوقِعُ الرَّهبَةَ فِي النُّفُوسِ.

9 H e maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

هُوَ الَّذِي يُخمِدُ الحُرُوبَ فِي الأرْضِ كُلِّها، مُكَسِّراً الأقواسَ وَقاطِعاً الرِّماحَ وَحارِقاً التُّرُوسَ.

10 B e still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

يَقُولُ: «كُفُّوا عَنِ القِتالِ، وَاعلَمُوا أنِّي أنا اللهَ، مُرتَفِعٌ فَوقَ الشُّعُوبِ وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ الأرْضِ.»

11 T he Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
