1 T he transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

فِي أعماقِ قَلبِ الشِّرِّيرِ صَوتٌ يَدعُوهُ للإثمِ. وَلا يَضَعُ مَهابَةَ اللهِ أمامَ عَينَيهِ.

2 F or he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

يَكذِبُ عَلَى نَفسِهِ فَلا يَرَى إثْمَهُ. وَلِهَذا لا يَطلُبُ الغُفْرانَ.

3 T he words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

كَلِماتُهُ أكاذِيبٌ باطِلَةٌ وَخِداعٌ، لا تُعطِي حِكمَةً وَلا نَفْعَ مِنْها.

4 H e deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

يُخَطِّطُ لِعَمَلِ الشَّرِّ وَهُوَ مُسْتَلْقٍ فِي فِراشِهِ. يَقُومُ وَيَسلُكُ فِي طَرِيقٍ لا نَفْعَ مِنْها. لا يَرفُضُ أنْ يَفعَلَ شَرّاً.

5 T hy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

يا اللهُ ، يا ساكِنَ السَّماواتِ، إلَى السَّماءِ مَحَبَّتُكَ الصّادِقَةُ، وَإلَى السَّحابِ أمانَتُكَ!

6 T hy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

بِرُّكَ كالجِبالِ الشّاهِقَةِ. وَأحكامُكَ كَعُمْقِ المُحِيطِ. تَهتَمُّ بِالإنسانِ وَالحَيوانِ يا اللهُ.

7 H ow excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

أثْمَنُ مِنْ مَحَبَّتِكَ المُخلِصَةِ لا يُوجَدُ. المَلائِكَةُ وَالنّاسُ يَلجَأُونَ إلَى ظِلِّ جَناحَيكَ.

8 T hey shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

مِنْ فَيضِ أطايِبِ بَيتِكَ يَأكُلُونَ. مِنْ نَهرِكَ العَذْبِ يَشْرَبُونَ.

9 F or with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

فَمِنْكَ يَتَدَفَّقُ يُنبُوعُ الحَياةِ، وَبِفَضلِ نُورِكَ نَرَى النُّورَ.

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

فَأظهِرْ لُطفَكَ وَرَحمَتَكَ لِعارِفِيكَ، وَجُودَكَ لِمُستَقِيمِي القَلْبِ.

11 L et not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

لا تَدَعِ المُتَكَبِّرِينَ يَدُوسُونِي، وَلا الأشْرارَ يُؤْذُونِي.

12 T here are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

انظُرْ أينَ سَقَطَ فاعِلُو الشَّرِّ. ها هُمْ مَطرُوحُونَ لا يَقُومُونَ.
