1 T he transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

Для диригенту хору. Раба Господнього Давида. (36-2) Грішне слово безбожного в серці моїм: Нема страху Божого перед очима його,

2 F or he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

(36-3) бо в очах своїх він до себе підлещується, щоб буцім то гріх свій знайти, щоб зненавидіти.

3 T he words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

(36-4) Слова його уст то марнота й обмана, перестав він бути мудрим, щоб чинити добро.

4 H e deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

(36-5) Беззаконство задумує він на постелі своїй, стає на дорозі недобрій, не цурається злого.

5 T hy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

(36-6) Господи, аж до небес милосердя Твоє, аж до хмар Твоя вірність,

6 T hy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

(36-7) Твоя справедливість немов гори Божі, Твої суди безодня велика, людину й худобу спасаєш Ти, Господи!

7 H ow excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

(36-8) Яка дорога Твоя милість, о Боже, і ховаються людські сини в тіні Твоїх крил:

8 T hey shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

(36-9) вони з ситости дому Твого напоюються, і Ти їх напуваєш з потока Своїх солодощів,

9 F or with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

(36-10) бо в Тебе джерело життя, в Твоїм світлі побачимо світло!

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

(36-11) Продовж Свою милість на тих, хто знає Тебе, а правду Свою на людей щиросердих!

11 L et not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

(36-12) Нога пишних нехай не наступить на мене, і безбожна рука нехай не викидає мене!

12 T here are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

(36-13) Попадали там беззаконники, повалено їх і встати не зможуть.
