1 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ مُوآبَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَزايِدَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لِأنَّهُمْ أحرَقُوا عِظامَ مَلِكِ أدُومَ حَتَّى تَفَتَّتْ كالكِلْسِ.

2 b ut I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

وَلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى مُوآبَ، لِتَلتَهِمَ قُصُورَ مَدِينَةِ قَرْيُوتَ. وَسَيَمُوتُ مُوآبُ فِي ضَجِيجِ المَعرَكَةِ، وَسَطَ الصُّراخِ وَأصَواتِ البوقِ.

3 a nd I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the Lord.

وَسَأُزِيلُ الحاكِمَ مِنهُ، وَسَأقتُلُ كُلَّ رُؤَسائِهِ مَعَهُ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ يَهُوذا

4 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the Lord, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ بَنِي يَهُوذا المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ رَفَضُوا أنْ يُطِيعُوا شَرِيعَةَ الله ، وَلَمْ يَحفَظُوا فَرائِضَهُ. قَدِ انْحَرَفُوا وَراءَ الأكاذِيبِ الَّتِي تَبِعَها آباؤُهُمْ.

5 b ut I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

وَلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى يَهُوذا، فَتَلتَهِمَ قُصُورَ مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ إسْرائِيل

6 T hus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ باعُوا الأبرِياءَ الصّالِحِينَ كَعَبِيدٍ بِفِضَّةٍ، وَالمَساكِينَ بِثَمَنِ حِذاءٍ.

7 t hat pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:

يَدُوسُونَ رُؤُوسَ الضُّعَفاءِ كَما لَوْ كانُوا يَدُوسُونَ تُرابَ الأرْضِ، كَما يَدفَعُونَ المَساكِينَ إلَى خارِجِ الطَّرِيقِ. الرَّجُلُ وَأبُوهُ يُعاشِرانِ الفَتاةَ ذاتَها. وَلِذَلِكَ فَإنَّ اسْمِي المُقَدَّسَ يَتَعَرَّضُ لِلتَّدنِيسِ.

8 a nd they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

يَستَلقُونَ بِجانِبِ كُلِّ مَذبَحٍ عَلَى ثِيابٍ سَلَبوها مِنَ الفُقَراءِ كَرَهنٍ عَلَى ديُونِهِمْ. فِي بَيتِ إلَهِهِمْ يَشرَبُونَ الخَمرَ الَّتِي حَصَلُوا عَلَيها كَغَرامَةٍ مِنَ الآخرِينَ.

9 Y et destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

أنا مَنْ أبادَ الأمُورِيِّينَ مِنْ أمامِهِمْ، الَّذِينَ كانُوا طِوالاً كَشَجَرِ الأرْزِ وَأقوِياءَ كَالبَلُّوطِ. قَدْ أبَدْتُهُمْ بِالكامِلِ.

10 A lso I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

أنا أخْرَجْتُكُمْ مِنْ أرْضِ مِصْرَ وَقُدتُكُمْ فِي البَرِّيَّةِ أِرْبَعِينَ سَنَةٍ، لِتَمتَلِكُوا أرْضَ الأمُورِيِّينَ.

11 A nd I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the Lord.

أنا مَنِ اختارَ بَعضَ أبنائِكُمْ لِيَكُونُوا أنبِياءً، وَبَعضَ شَبابِكُم لِيَكُونُوا نَذِيرِينَ. ألَيسَ كَذَلِكَ يا بَني إسْرائِيلَ؟» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ.

12 B ut ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

«لَكِنَّكُمْ جَعَلْتُمُ النَذِيرِينَ يَشرَبُونَ خَمْراً كاسِرِينَ عُهُودَهُمْ. وَأمرتُمِ الأنبِياءَ وَقُلْتُمْ لَهُمْ: ‹لا تَتَنَبَّأُوا.›

13 B ehold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

لِذَلِكَ ها أنا أُضغَطُ بِسَبَبِكُمْ كَما تُضغَطُ عَرَبَةٌ مُحَمَّلَةٌ بِحُزَمِ القَمحِ!

14 T herefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

لَنْ يَكُونَ السَّرِيعُ قادِراً عَلَى الهَرَبِ، وَلَنْ يَحتَفِظَ الأقوِياءُ بِقُوَّتِهِمْ، وَلَنْ يَستَطِيعَ حَتَّى الجُنُودُ أنْ يُنقِذُوا أنفُسَهمْ.

15 n either shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.

لَنْ يَصْمِدَ حامِلُوا الأقواسِ فِي المَعرَكَةِ، وَلَنْ يَهرُبَ السَّرِيعُونَ فِي الجَريِ، وَلَنْ يُخَلِّصَ راكِبُو الخُيُولِ أنفُسَهُمْ.

16 A nd he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the Lord.

وَأشجَعُ المُقاتِلِينَ سَيَهْرُبُونَ تارِكِينَ أسلِحَتَهُمْ خَلفَهُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ.» هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ.
