1 I n the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

تَوَلَّى عَزَرْيا بْنُ أمَصْيا حُكْمَ يَهُوذا فِي السَّنَةِ السّابِعَةِ وَالعِشْرِينَ مِنْ حُكْمِ يَرُبْعامَ لإسْرائِيلَ.

2 S ixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

وَكانَ فِي السّادِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِندَما تَوَلَّى الحُكمَ. وَحَكَمَ اثْنَتَينِ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً فِي القُدْسِ. وَاسْمُ أُمِّهِ يَكُلْيا، وَهِيَ مِنَ القُدْسِ.

3 A nd he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

وَعَمِلَ عَزَرْيا ما يُرْضِي اللهَ حَسَبَ كُلِّ ما فَعَلَهُ أبُوهُ أمَصْيا.

4 s ave that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَهدِمِ المُرتَفَعاتِ. فَكانَ هُناكَ مَنْ يُقَدِّمُونَ ذَبائِحَ وَيُحرِقُونَ بَخُوراً فِي تِلْكَ المُرتَفَعاتِ.

5 A nd the Lord smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

وَأصابَ اللهُ المَلِكَ عَزَرْيا بِالبَرَصِ، فَكانَ أبْرَصَ حَتَّى يَوْمِ مَوْتِهِ. ولذا سَكَنَ فِي بَيتٍ خاصٍّ. فَتَوَلَّى ابْنُهُ يُوثامُ الإشْرافَ عَلَى بَيتِ المَلِكِ وَإدارَةَ شُؤُونِ الشَّعبِ.

6 A nd the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ عَزَرْيا، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ يَهُوذا.

7 S o Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

وَماتَ عَزَرْيا وَدُفِنَ مَعَ آبائِهِ فِي مَدِينَةِ داوُدَ. وَخَلَفَهُ فِي الحُكمِ ابْنُهُ يُوثامُ. حُكْمُ زَكَرِيّا القَصِيرِ لإسْرائِيل

8 I n the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

حَكَمَ زَكَرِيّا بْنُ يَرُبْعامَ عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ فِي السّامِرَةِ مُدَّةَ سِتَّةِ أشْهُرٍ. وَكانَ ذَلِكَ فِي السَّنَةِ الثّامِنَةِ وَالثَّلاثِينَ مِنْ حُكْمِ عَزَرْيا لِيَهُوذا.

9 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

وَفَعَلَ زَكَرِيّا الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ كَآبائِهِ. وَتَمَسَّكَ بِخَطايا يَرُبْعامَ بْنِ نَباطَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ يُخطِئُونَ.

10 A nd Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

وَتَآمَرَ شَلُومُ بْنُ يابِيشَ عَلَى زَكَرِيّا. وَقَتَلَهُ فِي قِبَلِعامَ، وَاسْتَولَى عَلَى الحُكْمِ.

11 A nd the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

وَكُلُّ الأُمُورِ الأُخرَى المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِزَكَرِيّا مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ.

12 T his was the word of the Lord which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

وَهَكَذا تَحَقَّقَ كَلامُ اللهِ. فَقَدَ سَبَقَ أنْ أخبَرَ اللهُ ياهُو أنَّ أربَعَةَ أجيالٍ مِنْ نَسلِهِ سَيَكُونُونَ مُلُوكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ. حُكْمُ شَلُومَ القَصِيرِ لإسْرائِيل

13 S hallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

تَوَلَّى شَلُومُ بْنُ يابِيشَ الحُكمَ فِي إسْرائِيلَ فِي السَّنَةِ التّاسِعَةِ وَالثَّلاثِينَ مِنْ حُكْمِ عَزَرْيا لِيَهُوذا. وَحَكَمَ شَلُومُ شَهْراً واحِداً فِي السّامِرَةِ.

14 F or Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

وَصَعِدَ مَناحِيمُ بْنُ جادِي مِنْ تِرْصَةَ إلَى السّامِرَةِ. وَقَتَلَ شَلُومَ بْنَ يابِيشَ. وَتَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ بَعدَهُ.

15 A nd the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

وَكُلُّ الأُمُورِ الأُخرَى المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِشَلُومَ وَأعمالِهِ وَتَآمُرِهِ عَلَى زَكَرِيّا، مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ. مَناحِيمُ مَلِكُ إسْرائِيل

16 T hen Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

وَهَزَمَ مَناحِيمُ تَفْسَحَ وَالمِنطَقَةَ المُحِيطَةَ بِها. فَقَدْ كانَ أهلُها قَدْ رَفَضُوا أنْ يَفتَحُوا البَوّابَةَ لَهُ، فاقتَحَمَ المَدِينَةَ وَشَقَّ بُطُونَ الحَوامِلِ فِيها.

17 I n the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

تَوَلَّى مَناحِيمُ بْنُ جادِي حُكْمَ إسْرائِيلَ فِي السَّنَةِ التّاسِعَةِ وَالثَّلاثِينَ لِحُكْمِ عَزَرْيا مَلِكاً عَلَى يَهُوذا. وَحَكَمَ مَناحِيمُ عَشَرَ سَنَواتٍ فِي السّامِرَةِ.

18 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

وَفَعَلَ مَناحِيمُ الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ. وَتَمَسَّكَ بِخَطايا يَرُبْعامَ بْنِ نَباطَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ يُخطِئُونَ.

19 A nd Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

وَجاءَ فُولُ مَلِكُ أشُّورَ، لِمُحارَبَةِ إسْرائِيلَ. فَأعطاهُ مَناحِيمُ ألفَ قِنْطارٍ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ مُقابِلَ الحُصُولِ عَلَى دَعْمِهِ وَمُساعَدَتِهِ فِي تَثبِيتِ سَيطَرَتِهِ عَلَى المَملَكَةِ.

20 A nd Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

جَمَعَ مَناحِيمُ هَذا المَبلَغَ مِنَ المالِ بِأنْ فَرَضَ عَلَى أغنِياءِ بَلَدِهِ دَفْعَ خَمِسِينَ مِثْقالاً مِنَ الفِضَّةِ. وَهَكَذا رَجِعَ مَلِكُ أشُّورَ مِنْ دُونَ أنْ يَحتَلَّ إسْرائِيلَ.

21 A nd the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

وَكُلَّ الأُمُورِ الأُخرَى المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِمَناحِيمَ وَأعمالِهِ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ.

22 A nd Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

وَماتَ مَناحِيمُ وَدُفِنَ مَعَ آبائِهِ. وَتَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ بَعدَهُ ابْنُهُ فَقَحْيا. فَقَحْيا مَلِكُ إسْرائِيل

23 I n the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.

تَوَلَّى فَقَحْيا بْنُ مَناحِيمَ حُكْمَ إسْرائِيلَ فِي السَّنَةِ الخَمْسِينَ مِنْ حُكْمِ عَزَرْيا لِيَهُوذا. وَحَكَمَ فَقَحْيا سَنَتَينِ.

24 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

وَفَعَلَ فَقَحْيا الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ. وَتَمَسَّكَ بِخَطايا يَرُبْعامَ بْنِ نَباطَ الَّذِي جَرَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلَى الخَطِيَّةِ.

25 B ut Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

وَتَآمَرَ عَلَيهِ فَقَحُ آمِرُ الجَيشِ، وَقَتَلَهُ فِي السّامِرَةِ فِي قَصْرِ المَلِكِ. وَكانَ مَعَهُ خَمْسُونَ رَجُلاً حِينَ قَتَلَهُ. وَاسْتَولَى فَقَحُ عَلَى الحَكْمِ بَعْدَهُ.

26 A nd the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

وَكُلُّ الأُمُورِ الأُخرَى المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِفَقَحْيا وَأعمالِهِ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ. فَقَحُ مَلِكُ إسْرائِيل

27 I n the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.

وَتَوَلَّى فَقَحُ بْنُ رَمَلْيا حُكْمَ إسْرائِيلَ فِي السّامِرَةِ فِي السَّنَةِ الثّانِيَةِ وَالخَمْسِينَ مِنْ حُكْمِ عَزَرْيا لِيَهُوذا. وَحَكَمَ فَقَحٌ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً.

28 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

وَفَعَلَ فَقَحُ الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ. وَتَمَسَّكَ بِخَطايا يَرُبْعامَ بْنِ نَباطَ الَّذِي جَرَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلَى الخَطِيَّةِ.

29 I n the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

وَجاءَ تَغلَثُ فَلاسِرُ، مَلِكُ أشُّورَ، لِمُحارَبَةِ إسْرائِيلَ أثْناءَ حُكْمِ فَقَحَ. وَاستَولَى عَلَى عُيُونَ وَآبِلَ وَبَيتِ مَعْكَةَ وَيانُوحَ وَقادِشَ وَحاصُورَ وَجِلْعادَ وَالجَلِيلِ وَكُلَّ مِنْطَقَةِ نَفتالِي. وَسَبَى أهلَها إلَى أشُّورَ.

30 A nd Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

وَتَآمَرَ هُوشَعُ بْنُ أيلَةَ عَلَى فَقَحَ بْنِ رَمَلْيا، وَقَتَلَهُ. وَاسْتَولَى عَلَى العَرشِ بَعْدَهُ. كانَ هَذا فِي السَّنَةِ العِشْرِينَ مِنْ حُكمِ يُوثامَ بْنِ عُزِّيّا لِيَهُوذا.

31 A nd the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ فَقَحَ، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ. يُوثامُ مَلِكُ يَهُوذا

32 I n the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

وَتَوَلَّى يُوثامُ بْنُ عُزِّيّا حُكْمَ يَهُوذا فِي السَّنَةِ الثّانِيَةِ مِنْ حُكْمِ فَقَحَ بْنِ رَمَلْيا لإسْرائِيلَ.

33 F ive and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

وَكانَ يُوثامُ فِي الخامِسَةِ وَالعِشْرِينَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِندَما تَوَلَّى الحُكمَ، وَحَكَمَ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فِي القُدْسِ. وَأُمُّهُ هِيَ يَرُوشا بِنْتُ صادُوقَ.

34 A nd he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

وَعَمِلَ يُوثامُ ما يُرضِي اللهَ كَأبِيهِ عُزِّيّا.

35 H owbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the Lord.

غَيرَ أنَّهُ لَمْ يَهدِمِ المُرتَفَعاتِ. فَكانَ هُناكَ مَنْ يُقَدِّمُونَ ذَبائِحَ وَيُحرِقُونَ بَخُوراً فِي تِلْكَ المُرتَفَعاتِ. وَبَنَى يُوثامُ البَوّابَةَ العُلوِيَّةَ لِبَيتِ اللهِ.

36 N ow the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ يُوثامَ، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ يَهُوذا.

37   In those days the Lord began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، بَدَأ اللهُ يُرسِلُ راصِينَ، مَلِكَ أرامَ، وَفَقَحاً بْنِ رَمَلْيا لِمُحارَبَةِ يَهُوذا.

38 A nd Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

وَماتَ يُوثامُ وَدُفِنَ مَعَ آبائِهِ فِي مَدِينَةِ داوُدَ. فَخَلَفَهُ فِي الحُكْمِ ابنُهُ آحازُ.
