1 N ow these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

فِيما يَلِي أسْماءَ سُكّانِ مِنْطَقَةِ يَهُوذا الَّذِينَ عادُوا مِنَ السَّبيِ، الَّذِينَ كانَ المَلِكُ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ قَد سَبَى عَشائِرَهُمْ إلَى بابِلَ. وَقَد عادُوا جَمِيعاً إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ وَيَهُوذا، كُلُّ واحِدٍ إلَى بَلدَتِهِ.

2 w hich came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

عادُوا مَعَ زَرُبّابِلَ وَيَشُوعَ وَنَحَمْيا وَسَرايا وَرَعْلايا وَمُرْدَخايَ وَبِلْشانَ وَمِسْفارَ وَبِغْوايَ وَرَحُومَ وَبَعنَةَ. وَهَذِهِ قائِمَةٌ بِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ العائِدِينَ:

3 t he children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.

بَنُو فَرْعُوشَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَمِئَةٌ وَاثنانِ وَسَبعُونَ.

4 T he children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.

بَنُو شَفَطْيا وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَسَبعُون.

5 T he children of Arah, seven hundred seventy and five.

بَنُو آرَحَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

6 T he children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

بَنُو فَحَثَ مُوآبَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ يَشُوعَ وَيُوآبَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَثَمانُ مِئَةٍ وَاثنا عَشَرَ.

7 T he children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

بَنُو عِيلامَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَأربَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

8 T he children of Zattu, nine hundred forty and five.

بَنُو زَتُّو وَعَدَدُهُمْ تِسعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

9 T he children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.

بَنُو زَكّايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ.

10 T he children of Bani, six hundred forty and two.

بَنُو بانِي وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَأربَعُونَ.

11 T he children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو بابايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

12 T he children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred twenty and two.

بَنُو عَرْجَدَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَاثنانِ وَعِشرُونَ.

13 T he children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

بَنُو أدُونِيقامَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَسِتُّونَ.

14 T he children of Bigvai, two thousand fifty and six.

بَنُو بِغْوايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفانِ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

15 T he children of Adin, four hundred fifty and four.

بَنُو عادِينَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ أربَعُ مِئَةٍ وَأرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

16 T he children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

بَنُو آطِيرَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ حَزَقِيّا، وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَمانِيَةٌ وَتِسعُونَ.

17 T he children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو بِيصايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ.

18 T he children of Jorah, an hundred and twelve.

بَنُو يُورَةَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَاثنا عَشَرَ.

19 T he children of Hashum, two hundred twenty and three.

بَنُو حَشُومَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَتانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

20 T he children of Gibbar, ninety and five.

بَنُو جِبّارَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ خَمسَةٌ وَتِسعُونَ.

21 T he children of Beth-lehem, an hundred twenty and three.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ بَيتَ لَحْمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

22 T he men of Netophah, fifty and six.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ نَطُوفَةُ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

23 T he men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عَناثُوثَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

24 T he children of Azmaveth, forty and two.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عَزْمُوتَ وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنانِ وَأربَعُونَ.

25 T he children of Kirjath-arim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty and three.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ قَريَةِ عارِيمَ وَكَفِيرَةَ وَبِئِيرُوتَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

26 T he children of Ramah and Geba, six hundred twenty and one.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَتَيِّ الرّامَةِ وَجَبَعَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مئَةٍ وَواحِدٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

27 T he men of Michmas, an hundred twenty and two.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ مِخْماسَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةُ وَاثنانِ وَعِشرُونَ.

28 T he men of Beth-el and Ai, two hundred twenty and three.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَتَيّ إيلَ وَعايَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَتانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

29 T he children of Nebo, fifty and two.

الرِّجال مِنْ بَلدَةِ نَبُو وَعَدَدُهُمُ اثْنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

30 T he children of Magbish, an hundred fifty and six.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ مَغْبِيشَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

31 T he children of the other Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ عِيلامَ الأُخرَى وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَأربَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

32 T he children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ حارِيمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ.

33 T he children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty and five.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلداتِ لُودَ وَحادِيدَ وَأُونُو وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

34 T he children of Jericho, three hundred forty and five.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ أرِيحا وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

35 T he children of Senaah, three thousand and six hundred and thirty.

الرِّجالُ مِنْ بَلدَةِ سَناءَةَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثَةُ آلافٍ وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثُونَ.

36 T he priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.

أمّا الكَهَنَةُ العائِدُونَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو يَدْعِيّا، مِنْ عائِلَةِ يَشُوعَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ تِسعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

37 T he children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.

بَنُو إمِّيرَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَاثنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

38 T he children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.

بَنُو فَشْحُورَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَمِئَتانِ وَسَبعَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ.

39 T he children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.

بَنُو حارِيمَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ ألفٌ وَسَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ.

40 T he Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four.

أمّا اللّاوِيُّونَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو يَشُوعَ وَقَدْمِيئِيلَ، مِنْ عائِلَةِ هُودُويا، وَعَدَدُهُمْ أربَعَةٌ وَسَبعُونَ.

41 T he singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

وَالمُرَنِّمُونَ: بَنُو آسافَ وَعَدَدُهُمْ مِئَةٌ وَثَمانِيَةٌ وَعِشرُونَ.

42 T he children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all an hundred thirty and nine.

وَبَنُو حُرّاس بَوّاباتِ الهَيكَلِ: بَنُو شَلُّومَ وَآطِيرَ وَطَلْمُونَ وَعُقُّوبَ وَحَطِيطا وَشُوبايَ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ جَمِيعاً مِئَةٌ وَتِسعَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ.

43 T he Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

أمّا خُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ فَهُمْ: بَنُو صِيحا وَحَسُوفا وَطَباعُوتَ،

44 t he children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,

وَبَنُو قِيرُوسَ وَسيعَها وَفادُونَ،

45 t he children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,

وَبَنُو لَبانَةَ وَحَجابَةَ وَعَقُّوبَ،

46 t he children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan,

وَبَنُو حاجابَ وَشَمُلايَ وَحانانَ،

47 t he children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,

وَبَنُو جَدِيلَ وَحَجَرَ وَرَآيا،

48 t he children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,

وَبَنُو رَصِينَ وَنَقُودا وَجَزّامَ،

49 t he children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,

وَبَنُو عُزّا وَفاسِيحَ وَبِيسايَ،

50 t he children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim,

وَبَنُو أسْنَةَ وَمَعُونِيمَ وَنَفُوسِيمَ،

51 t he children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,

وَبَنُو بَقْبُوقَ وَحَقُوفا وَحَرْحُورَ،

52 t he children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

وَبَنُو بَصلُوتَ وَمَحِيدا وَحَرْشا،

53 t he children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,

وَبَنُو بَرْقُوسَ وَسِيسَرا وَثامَحَ،

54 t he children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

وَبَنُو نَصِيحَ وَحَطِيفا.

55 T he children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,

أمّا خُدّامِ سُلَيْمانَ فَهُمْ: بَنُو سُوطايَ وَهَسُّوفَرَثَ وَفَرُودا.

56 t he children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

وَبَنُو يَعلَةَ وَدَرْقُونَ وَجَدِّيلَ،

57 t he children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami.

وَبَنُو شَفَطْيا وَحَطِّيلَ وَفُوخَرَةِ الظِّباءِ وَآمِي.

58 A ll the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

فَبَلَغَ عَدَدُ خُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ وَأبناءُ خُدّامِ سُلَيْمانَ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَينِ وَتِسعِينَ شَخصاً.

59 A nd these were they which went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father’s house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

وَجاءَتِ الجَماعاتُ التّالِيَةُ مِنْ مُدُنِ تَلِّ مِلْحٍ وَتَلِّ حَرْشا وَكَرُوبَ وَأدّانَ وَإمِّيرَ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَمَكَّنُوا مِنْ إثباتِ نَسَبِهِمْ إلَى بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ:

60 t he children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.

بَنُو دَلايا وَطُوبِيّا وَنَقُودا وَعَدَدُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثنانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

61 A nd of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

وَمِن عائِلَةِ الكَهَنَةِ: بَنُو حَبايا وَهَقُّوصَ وَبَرْزِلّايَ الَّذِي كانَ قَد تَزَوَّجَ مِنْ إحدَى بَناتِ بَرْزَلّايَ الجِلْعادِيِّ، فَدُعِيَ بِاسْمِهِ.

62 t hese sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

بَحَثَ هَؤلاءِ فِي السِّجِلّاتِ الرَّسمِيَّةِ عَن أصلِهِم وَنَسَبِهِمْ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ ذِكرٌ فِيها، فَتَمَّ استِثْناؤُهُمْ مِنْ خِدْمَةِ الكَهَنُوتِ.

63 A nd the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

وَأمَرَهُمِ الوالِي بِأنْ لا يَأكُلُوا مِنْ أطعِمَةِ قُدسِ الأقداسِ إلَى أن يَظهَرَ كاهِنٌ يَستَطِيعُ أن يَسألَ اللهَ بِواسِطَةِ الأُورِيمِ وَالتُّمِّيمِ فِي أمرِهِمْ.

64 T he whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,

وَقَد بَلَغَ مَجمُوعُ الجَماعَةِ اثْنَينِ وَأربَعِينَ ألفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وستِّينَ شَخصاً.

65 b eside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

هَذا بِالإضافَةِ إلَى خُدّامِهِمْ وَخادِماتِهِمِ الَّذِينَ بَلَغَ عَدَدُهُمْ سَبْعَةَ آلافٍ وَثَلاثَمِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَةً وَثَلاثِينَ. كَما كانَ مَعَهُمْ مِئَتا مُرَنِّمٍ وَمُرَنِّمَةٍ.

66 T heir horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

وَكانَ لَدَيهِمْ سَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ حِصاناً، وَمِئَتانُ وَخَمسَةٌ وَأربَعُونَ بَغلاً،

67 t heir camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

وَأربَعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمسَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ جَمَلاً، وَسِتَّةُ آلافٍ وَسَبعُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشرُونَ حِماراً.

68 A nd some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

وَقَدَّمَ بَعضُ رُؤَساءِ العائِلاتِ وَالعَشائِرِ عِندَ وُصُولِهِمْ إلَى بَيتِ اللهِ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ، تَبَرُّعاتٍ لِبَيتِ اللهِ، مِنْ أجلِ أن يُعادَ بِناؤُهُ فِي مَكانِهِ.

69 t hey gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

فَكانَت تَبَرُّعاتُهُمْ لِهَذا البِناءِ قَدرَ طاقَتِهِمْ: واحِداً وَسِتِّينَ ألفَ دِرْهَمٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ، وَخَمسَةَ آلافِ رَطلٍ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ، وَمِئَةَ ثَوبٍ للكَهَنَةِ.

70 S o the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

وَأقامَ الكَهَنَةُ وَاللّاوِيُّونَ وَبَعضُ الشَّعبِ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ مَعَ المُغَنِّينَ وَحُرّاسِ الأبْوابِ وَخُدّامِ الهَيكَلِ. وَسَكَنَ جَمِيعُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ فِي مُدُنِهِمْ.
