1 N ow these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ شَجَرَةُ عائِلَةِ أبْناءِ نُوحَ، سامَ وَحامَ وَيافَثَ. وَقَدْ وُلِدَ لَهُمْ أبْناءٌ بَعْدَ الطُّوفانِ. نسلُ يافَث

2 T he sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

أبْناءُ يافَثَ هُمْ جُومَرُ وَماجُوجُ وَمادايُ وَياوانُ وَتُوبالُ وَماشِكُ وَتِيراسُ.

3 A nd the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

وَأبْناءُ جُومَرَ هُمْ أشْكَنازُ وَرِيفاثُ وَتُوجَرْمَةُ.

4 A nd the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

وَأبْناءُ ياوانَ هُمْ ألِيشَةُ وَتَرْشِيشُ وَكِتِّيمُ وَدُودانِيمُ.

5 B y these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

وَمِنْ بَنِي يافَثَ هَؤُلاءِ انْتَشَرَتِ الشُّعُوبُ عَلَى طُولِ سَواحِلِ البَحْرِ، وَكَوَّنَتْ بُلْداناً لَها لُغاتُها، حَسَبَ عَشائِرِها وَشُعُوبِها. نسلُ حام

6 A nd the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

وَأبْناءُ حامَ هُمْ كُوشُ وَمِصْرايمُ وَفُوطُ وَكَنْعانُ.

7 A nd the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

وَأبْناءُ كُوشَ هُمْ سَبا وَحَوِيلَةُ وَسَبْتا وَرَعْما وَسَبَتْكا. وَابْنا رَعْمَةَ هُما شَبا وَدَدانُ.

8 A nd Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

وَأنجَبَ كُوشُ نِمْرُودَ. وَكانَ نِمْرُودُ أوَّلَ مُحارِبٍ جَبَّارٍ عَلَى الأرْضِ.

9 H e was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.

وَكانَ صَيّاداً جَبّاراً فِي حَضرَةِ اللهِ. وَلِهَذا يُضْرَبُ فِيهِ المَثَلُ فَيُقالُ: «هَذا كَنِمْرُودَ، صَيّادٌ جَبّارٌ فِي حَضرَةِ اللهِ.»

10 A nd the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

بَدَأ نِمْرُودُ مَملَكَتَهُ فِي بابِلَ وَأرَكَ وَأكَّدَ وَكَلْنَةَ فِي أرْضِ شِنْعارَ.

11 O ut of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

وَمِنْ تِلْكَ الأرْضِ دَخَلَ إلَى أشُّورَ. وَهُناكَ بَنَى نِينَوَى، وَرَحُوبُوتَ عِيرَ، وَكالَحَ،

12 a nd Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

وَرَسَنَ بَينَ نِينَوَى وَكالَحَ. وَكالَحُ هِيَ المَدِينَةُ الكَبِيرَةُ.

13 A nd Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

وَأنْجَبَ مِصْرايْمُ بَنِي لُودَ وَبَنِي عَنامَ وَبَنِي لَهابَ وَبَنِي نَفْتُوحَ

14 a nd Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

وَبَنِي فَتْرُوسَ وَبَنِي كَسلُوحَ، الَّذِينَ خَرَجَ مِنْهُمُ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ، وَبَنِي كَفْتُورَ.

15 A nd Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

وَأنجَبَ كَنْعانُ ابْنَهُ البِكْرَ صِيدُونَ. وَهُوَ أبُو الحِثِّيِّينَ

16 a nd the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

وَاليَبُوسِيِّينَ وَالأمُورِيِّينَ وَالجِرْجاشِيِّينَ

17 a nd the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

وَالحِوِّيِّينَ وَالعَرْقِيِّينَ وَالسِّينِيِّينَ

18 a nd the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

وَالأرْوادِيِّينَ وَالصَّمّارِيِّينَ وَالحَماثِيِّينَ. وَانتَشَرَتْ فِيما بَعْدُ عَشائِرُ الكَنْعانِيِّينَ فِي بِلادٍ كَثيرَةٍ.

19 A nd the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

وَامتَدَّتْ أرْضُ الكَنْعانِيِّينَ مِنْ صَيدُونَ، فِي اتِّجاهِ جَرارَ، حَتَّى غَزَّةَ، فِي اتِّجاهِ سَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ وَأدْمَةَ وَصَبُويِيمَ حَتَّى لاشَعَ.

20 T hese are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

كانَتْ هَذِهِ العَشائِرُ مِنْ نَسلِ حامَ. وَكانَتْ لَها لُغاتُها وَأراضِيها وَشُعُوبُها. نسلُ سام

21 U nto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

سامُ هُوَ الأخُ الأكْبَرُ لِيافَثَ. وَقَدْ أنْجَبَ سامُ أيضاً، وَمِنْ نَسلِهِ جاءَ عابِرُ أبو جَمِيعِ العِبْرانيينَ.

22 T he children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

فَأبْناءُ سامَ هُمْ عِيلامُ وَأشُّورُ وَأرْفَكْشادُ وَلُودُ وَآرامُ.

23 A nd the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

وَأبْناءُ أرامَ هُمْ عُوصُ وَحُولُ وَجاثَرُ وَماشِكُ.

24 A nd Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

وَأنْجَبَ أرْفَكْشادُ شالَحَ. وَأنْجَبَ شالَحُ عابِرَ.

25 A nd unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

وَوُلِدَ لِعابِرَ ابْنانِ: كانَ اسْمُ أوَّلِهِما فالَجُ لأنَّ الأرْضَ قُسِمَتْ فِي أيّامِهِ. وَكانَ لِفالَجَ أخٌ اسْمُهُ يَقْطانُ.

26 A nd Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

وَأنْجَبَ يَقْطانُ ألْمُودادَ وَشالَفَ وَحَضْرَمَوْتَ وَيارَحَ

27 a nd Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

وَهَدُورامَ وَأُوزالَ وَدِقلَةَ

28 a nd Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

وَعُوبالَ وَأبِيمايِلَ وَشَبا

29 a nd Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

وَأُوفِيرَ وَحَوِيلَةَ وَيُوبابَ. كانَ هَؤُلاءِ كُلُّهُمْ نَسلَ يَقْطانَ.

30 A nd their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

وَسَكَنُوا فِي الرِّيفِ الشَّرْقِيِّ الجَبَلِيِّ، مِنْ مِيشا فِي اتِّجاهِ سَفارَ.

31 T hese are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

هَؤُلاءِ هُمْ نَسلُ سامَ، بِعَشائِرِهِمْ وَلُغاتِهِمْ وَأراضِيهِمْ وَأُمَمِهِمْ.

32 T hese are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

هَذِهِ هِيَ أنْسابُ عَشائِرِ بَنِي نُوحَ بِحَسَبِ الأُمَمِ الّتِي كَوَّنُوها. وَمِنْ هَذِهِ العَشائِرِ انتَشَرَ البَشَرُ فِي الأرْضِ بَعْدَ الطُّوفانِ.
