1 B e therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

بِما أنَّكُمْ أبناءُ اللهِ المَحبُوبُونَ، تَمَثَّلُوا بِهِ.

2 W alk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.

وَاسلُكُوا بِالمَحَبَّةِ كَما أحَبَّنا المَسِيحُ وَبَذَلَ نَفسَهُ مِنْ أجلِنا تَقدِمَةً وَذَبِيحَةً مُرضِيَةً للهِ.

3 B ut sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;

وَلا يُذكَرُ بَينَكُمُ الزِّنا وَكُلُّ أشكالِ النَّجاسَةِ وَالفِسقِ، كَما يَلِيقُ بِالمُؤمِنِينَ المُقَدَّسِينَ.

4 n or filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.

وَكَذَلِكَ الكَلامُ القَبِيحُ وَالسَّفِيهُ وَالنُّكاتُ القَذِرَةُ الَّتي لا تَليقُ بِكُمْ، بَلْ كُونُوا شاكِرِينَ.

5 K now this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.

فَاعلَمُوا يَقِيناً أنَّهُ ما مِنْ زانٍ أوْ نَجِسٍ، أوْ فاسِقٍ – وَالفِسقُ عِبادَةُ أوثانٍ – يُمكِنُ أنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ نَصِيبٌ فِي مَلَكُوتِ المَسِيحِ وَاللهِ.

6 L et no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

فَلا تَسمَحُوا لِأحَدٍ بِأنْ يَخدَعَكُمْ بِكَلامٍ فارِغٍ. فَبِسَبَبِ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ سَيَنصَبُّ غَضَبُ اللهِ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَحيَونَ حَياةَ العِصيانِ.

7 T herefore don’t be partakers with them.

فَلا تَشتَرِكُوا مَعَهُمْ فِي خَطاياهُمْ هَذِهِ.

8 F or you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

كانَتْ حَياتُكُمْ ذاتَ يَومٍ مَملوءَةً بِالظُّلمَةِ، أمّا الآنَ فَحَياتُكُمْ مَملوءَةٌ بِالنُّورِ كَما يَلِيقُ بِأتباعٍ لِلرَّبِّ. فَاسلُكوا كَما يَليقُ بأولادِ النُّورِ.

9 f or the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,

فَالنُّورُ لا يُنتِجُ إلّا الصَّلاحَ وَالبِرَّ وَالحَقَّ.

10 p roving what is well pleasing to the Lord.

فَاسعَوا عَلَى الدَّوامِ إلَى مَعرِفَةِ ما يُرضِي اللهَ،

11 H ave no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

وَلا تَشتَرِكُوا فِي أعمالِ الظُّلمَةِ غَيرِ البَنّاءَةِ، بَلْ يَجدُرُ بِكُمْ أنْ تَكشِفُوها.

12 F or the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.

إنَّ مُجَرَّدَ الحَدِيثِ عَنْ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ الَّتِي تُمارَسُ فِي الخَفاءِ هُوَ أمرٌ مُخجِلٌ،

13 B ut all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.

لَكِنَّ كُلَّ شَيءٍ يَصِيرُ مَنظُوراً حِينَ يُعَرَّضُ لِلنُّورِ.

14 T herefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

وَكُلُّ ما يَصِيرُ مَنظُوراً يُمكِنُ أيضاً أنْ يَصِيرَ نُوراً. وَلِهَذا تَقُولُ التَّرنِيمَةُ: «استَيقِظْ أيُّها النّائِمُ، وَقُمْ مِنَ المَوتِ، وَسَيُشرِقُ المَسِيحُ عَلَيكَ.»

15 T herefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;

فَانتَبِهُوا لِسُلُوكِكُمْ، وَلا تَكُونُوا كَالجُهّالِ، بَلْ كَالحُكَماءِ

16 r edeeming the time, because the days are evil.

الَّذِينَ يَنتَهِزُونَ كُلَّ فُرصَةٍ لِعَمَلِ الخَيْرِ، عالِمينَ أنَّ الأيّامَ مَملوءَةٌ بِالشَّرِّ.

17 T herefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

فَلا تَكُونُوا حَمقَى، بَلِ افهَمُوا ما هِيَ مَشِيئَةُ الرَّبِّ.

18 D on’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

وَلا تَسكَرُوا بِالخَمرِ الَّتِي تُؤَدِّي إلَى الانحِلالِ، بَلِ امتَلِئُوا مِنَ الرُّوحِ.

19 s peaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

رَنِّمُوا مَزامِيرَ وتَرانِيمَ وَأغانِي رُوحِيَّةً فِيما بَينَكُمْ، رَنِّمُوا وَأطلِقُوا الألحانَ مِنْ قُلُوبِكُمْ لِلرَّبِّ،

20 g iving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;

شاكِرِينَ اللهَ الآبَ دائِماً وَفِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ، بِاسْمِ رَبِّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ.

21 s ubjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

اخضَعُوا بَعضُكُمْ لِبَعضٍ إكراماً للمَسِيحِ. الزَّوجاتُ وَالأزواج

22 W ives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

أيَّتُها الزَّوجاتُ، اخضَعْنَ لِأزواجِكُنَّ كَما تَخْضَعْنَ لِلرَّبِّ.

23 F or the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.

فَالزَّوجُ هُوَ الرَّأْسُ عَلَى زَوجَتِهِ، كَما أنَّ المَسِيحَ هُوَ الرَّأْسُ عَلَى الكَنِيسَةِ. وَهُوَ نَفسُهُ مُخَلِّصُ الجَسَدِ، أيِ الكَنِيسَةِ.

24 B ut as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

لَكِنْ يَنْبَغيْ أنْ تَخضَعَ الزّوجاتُ لِأزواجِهِنَّ فِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ، كَما تَخضَعُ الكَنِيسَةُ لِلمَسِيحِ.

25 H usbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;

أمّا أنتُمْ أيُّها الأزواجُ، فَعامِلُوا زَوجاتِكُمْ بِكُلِّ مَحَبَّةٍ، كَما أحَبَّ المَسِيحُ كَنِيسَتَهُ وَبَذَلَ نَفسَهُ مِنْ أجلِها،

26 t hat he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

لِكَي يُقَدِّسَها بَعدَ أنْ طَهَّرَها بِغَسلِها بِالماءِ، بِالكَلِمَةِ.

27 t hat he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect.

وَذَلِكَ لِكَي يَأْخُذَها لِنَفسِهِ عَرُوساً مُتَألِّقَةً، بِلا شائِبَةٍ أوْ تَجَعُّدٍ، أوْ أيِّ عَيبٍ آخَرِ. فَهُوَ يَبتَغِيها نَقِيَّةً وَبِلا لَومٍ.

28 E ven so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

هَكَذا يَنبَغي أنْ يُحِبَّ الأزواجُ زَوجاتِهِنَّ، كَما يُحِبُّونَ أجسادَهُمْ. وَمَنْ يُحِبُّ زَوجَتَهُ، يُحِبُّ بِذَلِكَ نَفسَهُ.

29 F or no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;

فَما مِنْ أحَدٍ يُبغِضُ جَسَدَهُ، بَلْ يُغَذِّيهِ وَيَهتَمُّ بِهِ، تَماماً كَما يَفعَلُ المَسِيحُ مَعَ الكَنِيسَةِ،

30 b ecause we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.

لِأنَّنا نَحنُ أعضاءُ جَسَدِهِ.

31 “ For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.”

فَكَما يَقُولُ الكِتابُ: «لِهَذا يَترُكُ الرَّجُلُ أباهُ وَأُمَّهُ، وَيَتَّحِدُ بِزَوجَتِهِ. وَيَصِيْرُ الاثنانِ جَسَداً واحِداً.»

32 T his mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.

هَذا السِّرُّ عَظِيمٌ! وَأنا أقُولُ إنَّ هَذا يَنطَبِقُ عَلَى المَسِيحِ وَالكَنِيسَةِ.

33 N evertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

فَلْيُحِبَّ كُلُّ واحِدٍ مِنكُمْ زَوجَتَهُ كَما يُحِبُّ نَفسَهُ. وَلْتُعامِلِ الزَّوجَةُ زَوجَها باحتِرامٍ شَدِيدٍ.
