1 W e give thanks to you, God. We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.

نُسَبِّحُكَ يا اللهُ، نُسَبِّحُكَ. قَرِيبٌ أنتَ. النّاسُ يُخْبِرُونَ عَنْ أعْمالِكَ العَجِيبَةِ.

2 W hen I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly.

يَقُولُ اللهُ: «حِينَ أعقِدُ المَحكَمَةَ، فَإنِّي بِالإنْصافِ أقضِي!

3 T he earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.

قَدْ تَرتَجِفُ الأرْضُ وَسُكّانُها، لَكِنِّي أُثَبِّتها وَأدعَمُ أساساتِها. سِلاهْ

4 I said to the arrogant, “Don’t boast!” I said to the wicked, “Don’t lift up the horn.

«أنا أمَرْتُ المُتَكَبِّرِينَ بِأنْ يَكُفُّوا عَنِ التَّكَبُّرِ. وَأمُرْتُ الأشرارَ بِأنْ يَكُفُّوا عَنِ التَّباهِي بِقُوَّتِهِمْ.

5 D on’t lift up your horn on high. Don’t speak with a stiff neck.”

‹لا تَتَحَدُّوا اللهَ بِقُوَّتِكُمْ. وَبِعَجرَفَةٍ لا تَتَكَلَّمُوا.›»

6 F or neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.

لِأنَّ قُوَّةَ الإنسانِ لا تَأتِي مِنَ الشَّرقِ أوْ مِنَ الغَربِ أوْ مِنَ الصَّحراءِ الجَبَلِيَّةِ.

7 B ut God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.

لَكِنَّ اللهَ القاضِي هُوَ الَّذِي يُذِلُّ وَيَرفَعُ!

8 F or in Yahweh’s hand there is a cup, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.

فِي يَدِ اللهِ كَأسٌ مَملُوءَةٌ نَبِيذاً أحمَرَ مَمزُوجاً بِسُمٍّ. وَسَيَسكُبُ مِنْ كَأسِهِ، وَسَيَشرَبُها أشرارُ الأرْضِ حَتَّى الثُّمالَةِ.

9 B ut I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

أمّا أنا فَأحكِي الحِكايَةَ دائِماً. أشدُو تَسبِيحاً لإلَهِ يَعْقُوبَ.

10 I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

يَقُولُ اللهُ: «سَأُكَسِّرُ قُوَّةَ الأشرارِ، وَسَأنصُرُ الأبرارَ.»
