1 T his is the third time I am coming to you. “At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”

هَذِهِ هِيَ المَرَّةُ الثّالِثَةُ الَّتِي سَآتِي فِيها لِزِيارَتِكُمْ. فَكَما يَقُولُ الكِتابُ: «تَتَثَبَّتُ كُلُّ مَسألَةٍ بِشَهادَةِ شاهِدَيْنِ أوْ ثَلاثَةٍ.»

2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;

فَحِينَ زُرتُكُمْ لِلمَرَّةِ الثّانِيَةِ أنذَرتُكُمْ، وَها أنا أُنذِرُكُمْ ثانِيَةً وَأنا بَعِيدٌ عَنكُمْ. فَأقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أخطَأُوا مِنْ قَبلُ وَلِكُلِّ مَنْ يُخطِئُ إنَّنِي إنْ جِئتُ ثانِيَةً، لَنْ أُشفِقَ عَلَيهِمْ.

3 s eeing that you seek a proof of Christ who speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you.

لِأنَّكُمْ تَبحَثُونَ عَنْ بُرهانٍ أنَّ المَسِيحَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِعلاً بِواسِطَتي، مَعَ أنَّ المَسِيحَ لَيسَ ضَعِيفاً لَكُمْ، بَلْ هُوَ قَوِيٌّ بَينَكُمْ.

4 F or he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

صَحِيحٌ أنَّهُ ماتَ ضَعِيفاً عَلَى الصَّلِيبِ، لَكِنَّهُ الآنَ حَيٌّ بِقُوَّةِ اللهِ. وَصَحِيحٌ أيضاً أنَّنا ضُعَفاءُ فِيهِ، لَكِنَّنا سَنَحيا مَعَهُ الآنَ بِقُوَّةِ اللهِ عِندَما نَتَعامَلُ مَعَكُمْ.

5 E xamine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

فَافْحَصُوا أنفُسَكُمْ لِتَعرِفُوا إنْ كُنتُمْ تَحيَونَ بِالإيمانِ. امتَحِنُوا أنفُسَكُمْ. أمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ لا تُدرِكُونَ أنَّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحَ فِيكُمْ؟ إلّا إنْ كُنْتُمْ قَدْ فَشِلتُمْ فِي الِامتِحانِ!

6 B ut I hope that you will know that we aren’t disqualified.

غَيرَ أنِّي أرجُو أنْ تُدرِكُوا أنَّنا لَمْ نَفشَلْ.

7 N ow I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we are as reprobate.

وَنَحنُ نَدعُو اللهَ ألّا تُخطِئُوا! لا لِكَيْ نَظهَرَ نَحنُ كَناجِحِينَ، بَلْ لِكَي تَفعَلُوا أنْتُمْ ما هُوَ صَوابٌ، حَتَّى لَوْ عَنَى ذَلِكَ أنْ نَظهَرَ نَحنُ كَأنَّنا فَشِلنا.

8 F or we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

فَنَحنُ لا نَستَطيعُ أنْ نَفعَلَ شَيئاً مُنافِياً لِلحَقِّ، بَلْ مِنْ أجلِ الحَقِّ.

9 F or we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. And this we also pray for, even your perfecting.

وَإنَّهُ لَيُسعِدُنا أنْ نَكُونَ نَحنُ ضُعَفاءَ وَأنتُمْ أقوِياءَ! لَكِنَّنا نُصَلِّي أنْ يُصلَحَ حالُكُمْ.

10 F or this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for tearing down.

لِهَذا أكتُبُ هَذهِ الأشياءَ وَأنا بَعِيدٌ عَنكُمْ، لِئَلّا أُضطَرَّ عِندَما آتِي إلَى التَّعامُلِ مَعكُمْ بِشِدَّةٍ. لِأنَّ السُّلطانَ الَّذِي مَنَحَهُ الرَّبُّ لِي هُوَ مِنْ أجلِ بُنيانِكُمْ، لا مِنْ أجلِ هَدمِكُمْ.

11 F inally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

أخِيراً أيُّها الإخوَةُ، تَحِيَّةً لَكُمْ. اسعوا إلَى الكَمالِ. اقبَلُوا ما قُلناهُ لَكُمْ. وَهُوَ أنْ تَكُونُوا مُتَّحِدينَ فِي الرَّأيِ. عِيشُوا فِي سَلامٍ. وَسَيَكُونُ مَعَكُمُ اللهُ الَّذِي هُوَ مَصدَرُ المَحَبَّةِ وَالسَّلامِ.

12 G reet one another with a holy kiss.

حَيُّوا بَعضُكُمْ بَعضاً بِقُبلَةٍ مُقَدَّسَةٍ.

13 A ll the saints greet you.

يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكُمْ جَمِيعُ المُؤمِنِينَ المُقَدَّسِينَ.

14 T he grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.

لِتَكُنْ نِعمَةُ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ، وَمَحَبَّةُ اللهِ، وَشَرِكَةُ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ مَعَكُمْ جَمِيعاً. آمِين.
