1 Z edekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

2 A nd he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

3 F or, because the anger of Jehovah was against Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

A causa de la ira de Jehová llegó esto a suceder en Jerusalén y Judá, hasta que los arrojó de su presencia. Y se rebeló Sedequías contra el rey de Babilonia. Sitio y caída de Jerusalén

4 A nd it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem; and they encamped against it, and built turrets against it round about.

Aconteció, por tanto, a los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, que vino Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, él y todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén, y acamparon contra ella, y la cercaron totalmente con baluartes.

5 A nd the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

6 I n the fourth month, on the ninth of the month, the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

7 A nd the city was broken into: and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden (now the Chaldeans were near the city round about); and they went the way toward the plain.

Y fue abierta una brecha en el muro de la ciudad, y todos los hombres de guerra huyeron, y salieron de la ciudad de noche por el camino de la puerta entre los dos muros que había cerca del jardín del rey, y se fueron por el camino del Arabá, estando aún los caldeos junto a la ciudad alrededor.

8 A nd the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

Y el ejército de los caldeos siguió al rey, y alcanzaron a Sedequías en los llanos de Jericó; y todo su ejército se dispersó de su lado.

9 A nd they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon, unto Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he pronounced judgment upon him.

Entonces prendieron al rey, y le hicieron venir al rey de Babilonia, a Riblá en tierra de Hamat, donde pronunció sentencia contra él.

10 A nd the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes; and he slaughtered also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

11 A nd he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with chains of brass; and the king of Babylon carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

12 A nd in the fifth month, on the tenth of the month, which was in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzar-adan, captain of the body-guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, came unto Jerusalem;

Y en el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, que era el año diecinueve del reinado de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, vino a Jerusalén Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, que solía estar delante del rey de Babilonia.

13 a nd he burned the house of Jehovah, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; and every great house he burned with fire.

Y quemó la casa de Jehová, y la casa del rey, y todas las casas de Jerusalén; y destruyó con fuego todo edificio grande.

14 A nd all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the body-guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

Y todo el ejército de los caldeos, que venía con el capitán de la guardia, destruyó todos los muros de Jerusalén en derredor.

15 A nd Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard carried away captive of the poorest sort of the people, and the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the deserters that had deserted to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

16 B ut Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard left of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

17 A nd the brazen pillars that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of Jehovah, the Chaldeans broke up, and carried all the brass thereof to Babylon.

18 T he pots also, and the shovels, and the knives, and the bowls, and the cups, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, they took away.

19 A nd the basons and the censers, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the cups, and the goblets, that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, the captain of the body-guard took away.

y los incensarios, tazones, copas, ollas, candeleros, escudillas y tazas; lo de oro por oro, y lo de plata por plata, se lo llevó el capitán de la guardia.

20 T he two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that formed the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Jehovah: for the brass of all these vessels there was no weight.

Las dos columnas, el estanque, y los doce bueyes de bronce que estaban debajo de las basas, que había hecho el rey Salomón para la casa de Jehová; el peso del bronce de todo esto era incalculable.

21 A nd as to the pillars: the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a line of twelve cubits encompassed it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

22 A nd the capital upon it was brass, and the height of the one capital five cubits; and the network and the pomegranates, upon the capital round about, all of brass; and similarly for the second pillar, and the pomegranates.

Y había sobre ella un capitel de bronce; y la altura de cada capitel era de cinco codos, con una red y granadas alrededor del capitel, todo de bronce; y lo mismo era lo de la segunda columna con sus granadas.

23 A nd there were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates upon the network were a hundred round about.

Había noventa y seis granadas en cada hilera; todas ellas eran ciento sobre la red alrededor.

24 A nd the captain of the body-guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.

25 A nd out of the city he took a eunuch that was set over the men of war, and seven men of them that were in the king's presence, who were found in the city, and the scribe of the captain of the host, who enrolled the people of the land. And sixty men of the people of the land that were found in the midst of the city.

26 A nd Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah;

Los tomó, pues, Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia, y los llevó al rey de Babilonia en Riblá.

27 a nd the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

Y el rey de Babilonia los hirió, y los mató en Riblá, en la tierra de Hamat. Así Judá fue deportada de su tierra.

28 T his is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand and twenty-three Jews;

29 i n the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar from Jerusalem eight hundred and thirty-two persons;

31 A nd it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;

Y sucedió que en el año treinta y siete del cautiverio de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, a los veinticinco días del mes, Evil-merodac, rey de Babilonia, en el año primero de su reinado, alzó la cabeza de Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo sacó de la cárcel.

32 a nd he spoke kindly unto him, and set his seat above the seat of the kings that were with him in Babylon.

33 A nd he changed his prison garments; and he ate bread before him continually all the days of his life;

34 a nd his allowance was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Y continuamente se le daba su sustento de parte del rey de Babilonia, cada día una porción durante todos los días de su vida, hasta el día de su muerte.
