1 Z edekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

Era Sedequías de edad de veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Hamutai, hija de Jeremías, de Libná.

2 H e did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

E hizo lo que es malo ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todo lo que hizo Joacim.

3 F or through Yahweh’s anger this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

A causa de la ira de Jehová llegó esto a suceder en Jerusalén y Judá, hasta que los arrojó de su presencia. Y se rebeló Sedequías contra el rey de Babilonia. Sitio y caída de Jerusalén

4 I n the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about.

Aconteció, por tanto, a los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, que vino Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, él y todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén, y acamparon contra ella, y la cercaron totalmente con baluartes.

5 S o the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

Y estuvo sitiada la ciudad hasta el undécimo año del rey Sedequías.

6 I n the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

En el mes cuarto, a los nueve días del mes, arreció el hambre en la ciudad, hasta no haber pan para la gente del pueblo.

7 T hen a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city all around;) and they went toward the Arabah.

Y fue abierta una brecha en el muro de la ciudad, y todos los hombres de guerra huyeron, y salieron de la ciudad de noche por el camino de la puerta entre los dos muros que había cerca del jardín del rey, y se fueron por el camino del Arabá, estando aún los caldeos junto a la ciudad alrededor.

8 B ut the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

Y el ejército de los caldeos siguió al rey, y alcanzaron a Sedequías en los llanos de Jericó; y todo su ejército se dispersó de su lado.

9 T hen they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.

Entonces prendieron al rey, y le hicieron venir al rey de Babilonia, a Riblá en tierra de Hamat, donde pronunció sentencia contra él.

10 T he king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he killed also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

Y degolló el rey de Babilonia a los hijos de Sedequías delante de sus ojos, y también degolló en Riblá a todos los jefes de Judá.

11 H e put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.

Además, le sacó los ojos a Sedequías, y el rey de Babilonia le ató con grillos, y lo hizo llevar a Babilonia; y lo metió en la cárcel hasta el día en que murió. Cautividad de Judá

12 N ow in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:

Y en el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, que era el año diecinueve del reinado de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, vino a Jerusalén Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, que solía estar delante del rey de Babilonia.

13 a nd he burned Yahweh’s house, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, he burned with fire.

Y quemó la casa de Jehová, y la casa del rey, y todas las casas de Jerusalén; y destruyó con fuego todo edificio grande.

14 A ll the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.

Y todo el ejército de los caldeos, que venía con el capitán de la guardia, destruyó todos los muros de Jerusalén en derredor.

15 T hen Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.

E hizo deportar Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia a los más pobres del pueblo, y a toda la otra gente del pueblo que había quedado en la ciudad, a los desertores que se habían pasado al rey de Babilonia, y a todo el resto de la multitud del pueblo.

16 B ut Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vineyard keepers and farmers.

Mas de los pobres del país dejó Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia para viñadores y labradores.

17 T he Chaldeans broke the pillars of brass that were in Yahweh’s house, and the bases and the bronze sea that were in Yahweh’s house in pieces, and carried all of their brass to Babylon.

Y los caldeos quebraron las columnas de bronce que estaban en la casa de Jehová, y las basas, y el mar de bronce que estaba en la casa de Jehová, y llevaron todo el bronce a Babilonia.

18 T hey also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered.

Se llevaron también los calderos, las palas, las despabiladeras, los tazones, las cucharas, y todos los utensilios de bronce con que se ministraba,

19 T he captain of the guard took away the cups, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lamp stands, the spoons, and the bowls; that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver.

y los incensarios, tazones, copas, ollas, candeleros, escudillas y tazas; lo de oro por oro, y lo de plata por plata, se lo llevó el capitán de la guardia.

20 T hey took the two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made for Yahweh’s house. The brass of all these vessels was without weight.

Las dos columnas, el estanque, y los doce bueyes de bronce que estaban debajo de las basas, que había hecho el rey Salomón para la casa de Jehová; el peso del bronce de todo esto era incalculable.

21 A s for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a line of twelve cubits encircled it; and its thickness was four fingers. It was hollow.

En cuanto a las columnas, la altura de cada columna era de dieciocho codos, y un cordón de doce codos la rodeaba; y su espesor era de cuatro dedos, y eran huecas.

22 A capital of brass was on it; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of brass: and the second pillar also had like these, and pomegranates.

Y había sobre ella un capitel de bronce; y la altura de cada capitel era de cinco codos, con una red y granadas alrededor del capitel, todo de bronce; y lo mismo era lo de la segunda columna con sus granadas.

23 T here were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were one hundred on the network all around.

Había noventa y seis granadas en cada hilera; todas ellas eran ciento sobre la red alrededor.

24 T he captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:

Tomó también el capitán de la guardia a Seraías, el principal sacerdote, a Sofonías, el segundo sacerdote, y los tres guardias del atrio.

25 a nd out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the middle of the city.

Y de la ciudad tomó a un oficial que era capitán de los hombres de guerra, a siete hombres de los consejeros íntimos del rey, que fueron encontrados en la ciudad, y al principal secretario de la milicia, encargado del alistamiento del pueblo de la tierra para la guerra, y sesenta hombres del pueblo que se hallaron dentro de la ciudad.

26 N ebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

Los tomó, pues, Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia, y los llevó al rey de Babilonia en Riblá.

27 T he king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

Y el rey de Babilonia los hirió, y los mató en Riblá, en la tierra de Hamat. Así Judá fue deportada de su tierra.

28 T his is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand twenty-three Jews;

Este es el pueblo que Nabucodonosor llevó cautivo: En el año séptimo, a tres mil veintitrés hombres de Judá.

29 i n the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty-two persons;

En el año dieciocho de Nabucodonosor, él llevó cautivas de Jerusalén a ochocientas treinta y dos personas.

30 i n the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

El año veintitrés de Nabucodonosor, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, llevó cautivas a setecientas cuarenta y cinco personas de los hombres de Judá; todas las personas en total fueron cuatro mil seiscientas. Joaquín es libertado y recibe honores en Babilonia

31 I n the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty-fifth day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and released him from prison;

Y sucedió que en el año treinta y siete del cautiverio de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, a los veinticinco días del mes, Evil-merodac, rey de Babilonia, en el año primero de su reinado, alzó la cabeza de Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo sacó de la cárcel.

32 a nd he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

Y habló con él amigablemente, e hizo poner su trono sobre los tronos de los reyes que estaban con él en Babilonia.

33 a nd changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:

Le hizo mudar también los vestidos de prisionero, y comía pan en la mesa del rey siempre todos los días de su vida.

34 a nd for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Y continuamente se le daba su sustento de parte del rey de Babilonia, cada día una porción durante todos los días de su vida, hasta el día de su muerte.
