1 T he burden of the valley of vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?

Profecía sobre el valle de la visión. ¿Qué te pasa ahora, que con todos los tuyos has subido sobre los terrados?

2 Y ou that are full of shouting, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; your slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.

Tú, llena de alborotos, ciudad turbulenta, ciudad alegre; tus muertos no son muertos a espada, ni muertos en guerra.

3 A ll your rulers fled away together. They were bound by the archers. All who were found by you were bound together. They fled far away.

Todos tus príncipes huyeron juntos, fueron apresados sin usar el arco; todos los que en ti se hallaron, fueron atados juntamente, aunque habían huido lejos.

4 T herefore I said, “Look away from me. I will weep bitterly. Don’t labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

Por eso dije: Dejadme, lloraré amargamente; no os afanéis por consolarme de la destrucción de la hija de mi pueblo.

5 F or it is a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.”

Porque es día de alboroto, de angustia y de confusión, de parte del Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos, en el valle de la visión, para derribar el muro, y clamar al monte.

6 E lam carried his quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.

Y Elam tomó la aljaba, con carros y con jinetes, y Kir sacó el escudo.

7 Y our choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.

Tus hermosos valles fueron llenos de carros, y los de a caballo acamparon a la puerta.

8 H e took away the covering of Judah; and you looked in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

Entonces cayó la defensa de Judá; y miraste en aquel día hacia el arsenal de armas de la casa del bosque.

9 Y ou saw the breaches of David’s city, that they were many; and you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

Visteis las brechas de la ciudad de David, que se multiplicaron; y recogisteis las aguas del estanque de abajo.

10 Y ou numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.

Y contasteis las casas de Jerusalén, y derribasteis casas para fortificar el muro. Necio estoicismo ante la inminente ruina

11 Y ou also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn’t look to him who had done this, neither did you have respect for him who purposed it long ago.

Hicisteis una alberca entre los dos muros para las aguas del estanque viejo; pero no mirasteis al que hizo esto, ni tuvisteis respeto al que lo ideó antiguamente.

12 I n that day, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, called to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to dressing in sackcloth:

Por eso, el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos, llamó en aquel día a llanto y a lamento, a raparse el cabello y a vestir cilicio;

13 a nd behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die.”

pero lo que hubo fue jolgorio y alegría, matando vacas y degollando ovejas, comiendo carne y bebiendo vino, diciendo: Comamos y bebamos, porque mañana moriremos.

14 Y ahweh of Armies revealed himself in my ears, “Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you until you die,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

Esto fue revelado a mis oídos de parte de Jehová de los ejércitos: Que este pecado no será expiado hasta que muráis, dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos. Sebná será sustituido por Eliaquim

15 T hus says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, “Go, get yourself to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say,

Jehová de los ejércitos dice así: Ve, entra a este tesorero, a Sebná el mayordomo, y dile:

16 ‘ What are you doing here? Who has you here, that you have dug out a tomb here?’ Cutting himself out a tomb on high, chiseling a habitation for himself in the rock!”

¿Qué tienes tú aquí, o a quién tienes aquí, que labraste aquí sepulcro para ti, como el que en lugar alto labra su sepultura, o el que esculpe para sí morada en una peña?

17 B ehold, Yahweh will overcome you and hurl you away violently. Yes, he will grasp you firmly.

He aquí que Jehová te hace rebotar con violencia, hombre, y te vuelve a agarrar.

18 H e will surely wind you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a large country. There you will die, and there the chariots of your glory will be, you shame of your lord’s house.

Te enrolla en un ovillo y te arroja como una bola a un país extenso; allí morirás, y allí estarán los carros de tu gloria, oh vergüenza de la casa de tu señor.

19 I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.

Y te arrojaré de tu lugar, y de tu puesto serás apeado.

20 I t will happen in that day that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah,

En aquel día llamaré a mi siervo Eliaquim, hijo de Hilcías,

21 a nd I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your belt. I will commit your government into his hand; and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

y lo vestiré con tus vestiduras, y lo ceñiré con tu talabarte, y entregaré en sus manos tu autoridad; y será por padre al morador de Jerusalén, y a la casa de Judá.

22 I will lay the key of David’s house on his shoulder. He will open, and no one will shut. He will shut, and no one will open.

Y pondré la llave de la casa de David sobre su hombro; y abrirá, y nadie cerrará; cerrará, y nadie abrirá.

23 I will fasten him like a nail in a sure place. He will be for a throne of glory to his father’s house.

Y lo hincaré como una clavija en lugar firme; y será por asiento de honra a la casa de su padre.

24 T hey will hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the pitchers.

Colgarán de él toda la honra de la casa de su padre, los hijos y los nietos, todos los vasos menores, desde las tazas hasta toda clase de jarros.

25 “ In that day,” says Yahweh of Armies, “the nail that was fastened in a sure place will give way. It will be cut down, and fall. The burden that was on it will be cut off, for Yahweh has spoken it.”

En aquel día, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, la clavija hincada en lugar firme será quitada; será quebrada y caerá, y la carga que sobre ella se puso se echará a perder; porque Jehová habló.
