1 Y ou are the children of Yahweh your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

Hijos sois de Jehová vuestro Dios; no os sajaréis, ni os raparéis a causa de muerto.

2 F or you are a holy people to Yahweh your God, and Yahweh has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Porque eres pueblo santo a Jehová tu Dios, y Jehová te ha escogido para que le seas un pueblo único de entre todos los pueblos que están sobre la tierra. Animales limpios e inmundos

3 Y ou shall not eat any abominable thing.

Nada abominable comerás.

4 T hese are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,

Estos son los animales que podréis comer: el buey, la oveja, la cabra,

5 t he deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the chamois.

el ciervo, la gacela, el corzo, la cabra montés, el íbex, el antílope y el carnero montés.

6 E very animal that parts the hoof, and has the hoof cloven in two and chews the cud, among the animals, that may you eat.

Y todo animal de pezuñas, que tiene hendidura de dos uñas, y que rumia entre los animales, lo podréis comer.

7 N evertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of those who have the hoof cloven: the camel, the hare, and the rabbit. Because they chew the cud but don’t part the hoof, they are unclean to you.

Pero no comeréis, entre los que rumian o entre los que tienen pezuña hendida: camello, liebre y conejo; porque rumian, mas no tienen pezuña hendida, serán inmundos;

8 T he pig, because it has a split hoof but doesn’t chew the cud, is unclean to you. You shall not eat their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses.

ni cerdo, porque tiene pezuña hendida, mas no rumia; os será inmundo. De la carne de éstos no comeréis, ni tocaréis sus cuerpos muertos.

9 T hese you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales may you eat.

De todo lo que vive en el agua, podréis comer: todo lo que tiene aleta y escama.

10 Y ou shall not eat whatever doesn’t have fins and scales. It is unclean to you.

Mas todo lo que no tiene aleta y escama, no comeréis; inmundo será.

11 O f all clean birds you may eat.

Toda ave limpia podréis comer.

12 B ut these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,

Y éstas son de las que no podréis comer: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el azor,

13 t he red kite, the falcon, the kite after its kind,

el gallinazo, el milano según su especie,

14 e very raven after its kind,

todo cuervo según su especie,

15 t he ostrich, the owl, the seagull, the hawk after its kind,

el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota y el gavilán según sus especies,

16 t he little owl, the great owl, the horned owl,

el búho, el ibis, el calamón,

17 t he pelican, the vulture, the cormorant,

el pelícano, el buitre, el somormujo,

18 t he stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

la cigüeña, la garza según su especie, la abubilla y el murciélago.

19 A ll winged creeping things are unclean to you. They shall not be eaten.

Todo insecto alado será inmundo; no se comerá.

20 O f all clean birds you may eat.

Toda ave limpia podréis comer.

21 Y ou shall not eat of anything that dies of itself. You may give it to the foreigner living among you who is within your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to Yahweh your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

Ninguna cosa mortecina comeréis; al extranjero que está en tus poblaciones la darás, y él podrá comerla; o véndela a un extranjero, porque tú eres pueblo santo a Jehová tu Dios. No cocerás el cabrito en la leche de su madre. La ley del diezmo

22 Y ou shall surely tithe all the increase of your seed, that which comes out of the field year by year.

Indefectiblemente diezmarás todo el producto del grano que rinda tu campo cada año.

23 Y ou shall eat before Yahweh your God, in the place which he chooses, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock; that you may learn to fear Yahweh your God always.

Y comerás delante de Jehová tu Dios en el lugar que él escoja para poner allí su nombre, el diezmo de tu grano, de tu vino y de tu aceite, y las primicias de tus manadas y de tus ganados, para que aprendas a temer a Jehová tu Dios todos los días.

24 I f the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it, because the place is too far from you, which Yahweh your God shall choose, to set his name there, when Yahweh your God shall bless you;

Y si el camino es tan largo para ti, de modo que no puedes llevarlo, por estar lejos de ti el lugar que Jehová tu Dios haya escogido para poner en él su nombre, cuando Jehová tu Dios te bendiga,

25 t hen you shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose.

entonces lo venderás y guardarás el dinero en tu mano, y vendrás al lugar que Jehová tu Dios escoja;

26 Y ou shall trade the money for whatever your soul desires, for cattle, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul asks of you; and you shall eat there before Yahweh your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

y emplearás el dinero en todo lo que desees: vacas, ovejas, vino, sidra, o en cualquier cosa que tú desees; y comerás allí delante de Jehová tu Dios, y te alegrarás tú y tu familia.

27 Y ou shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no portion nor inheritance with you.

Y no desampararás al levita que habite en tus poblaciones; porque no tiene parte ni heredad contigo.

28 A t the end of every three years you shall bring all the tithe of your increase in the same year, and shall store it within your gates.

Al fin de cada tres años sacarás todo el diezmo de tus productos de aquel año, y lo guardarás en tus ciudades.

29 T he Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the foreigner living among you, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

Y vendrá el levita, que no tiene parte ni heredad contigo, y el extranjero, el huérfano y la viuda que estén en tus poblaciones, y comerán y serán saciados; para que Jehová tu Dios te bendiga en toda obra que tus manos hagan.
