1 N ow after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place, where he was about to come.

Después de estas cosas, designó el Señor también a otros setenta, a quienes envió de dos en dos delante de él a toda ciudad y lugar adonde él había de ir.

2 T hen he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.

Y les decía: La mies a la verdad es mucha; mas los obreros, pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies.

3 G o your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

Id; he aquí que yo os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.

4 C arry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.

No llevéis bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado; y a nadie saludéis por el camino.

5 I nto whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’

En cualquier casa donde entréis, primeramente decid: Paz a esta casa.

6 I f a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.

Y si hubiese allí algún hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; y si no, se volverá a vosotros.

7 R emain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.

Y permaneced en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que tengan; porque el obrero es digno de su salario. No andéis cambiando de casa en casa.

8 I nto whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.

En cualquier ciudad donde entréis, y os reciban, comed lo que os pongan delante;

9 H eal the sick who are therein, and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’

y sanad a los enfermos que en ella haya, y decidles: Se ha acercado a vosotros el reino de Dios.

10 B ut into whatever city you enter, and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say,

Mas en cualquier ciudad donde entréis, y no os reciban, saliendo por sus calles, decid:

11 ‘ Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’

Aun el polvo de vuestra ciudad, que se ha pegado a nuestros pies, lo sacudimos contra vosotros. Empero, sabed esto, que el reino de Dios se ha acercado.

12 I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

Os digo que en aquel día será más tolerable el castigo para Sodoma, que para aquella ciudad. Ayes sobre las ciudades impenitentes

13 “ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Betsaida!, que si en Tiro y en Sidón se hubieran hecho los milagros que se han hecho en vosotras, hace tiempo que sentadas en cilicio y ceniza, se habrían arrepentido.

14 B ut it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.

Por tanto, en el juicio será más tolerable el castigo para Tiro y Sidón, que para vosotras.

15 Y ou, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.

Y tú, Capernaúm, que hasta los cielos fuiste levantada, hasta el Hades serás abatida.

16 W hoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

El que a vosotros oye, a mí me oye; y el que a vosotros desecha, a mí me desecha; y el que me desecha a mí, desecha al que me envió. Regreso de los setenta

17 T he seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”

Volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos someten en tu nombre.

18 H e said to them, “I saw Satan having fallen like lightning from heaven.

Y les dijo: Yo veía a Satanás caer del cielo como un rayo.

19 B ehold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.

He aquí os doy potestad de hollar serpientes y escorpiones, y sobre todo poder del enemigo, y nada os dañará.

20 N evertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Pero no os regocijéis de que los espíritus se os someten, sino regocijaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos. Jesús se regocija

21 I n that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”

En aquella misma hora Jesús se regocijó en el Espíritu Santo, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque ocultaste estas cosas a sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado a niños. Sí, Padre, porque así fue de tu agrado.

22 T urning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”

Todas las cosas me fueron entregadas por mi Padre; y nadie conoce quién es el Hijo sino el Padre; ni quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo lo quiera revelar.

23 T urning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,

Y volviéndose a los discípulos, les dijo aparte: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis;

24 f or I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”

porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; y oír lo que oís, y no lo oyeron. El buen samaritano

25 B ehold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Y he aquí que un intérprete de la ley se levantó y dijo, para probarle: Maestro, ¿qué he de hacer para heredar la vida eterna?

26 H e said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”

Él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Cómo lees?

27 H e answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

Aquél, respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con todas tus fuerzas, y con toda tu mente; y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

28 H e said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”

Y le dijo: Bien has respondido; haz esto, y vivirás.

29 B ut he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”

Pero él, queriendo justificarse a sí mismo, dijo a Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?

30 J esus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalén a Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; e hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto.

31 B y chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Coincidió que descendía un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, pasó por el lado opuesto del camino.

32 I n the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.

Asimismo un levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, pasó por el otro lado.

33 B ut a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion,

Pero un samaritano que iba de camino, vino cerca de él, y viéndole, fue movido a compasión;

34 c ame to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

y acercándose, vendó sus heridas, echándoles aceite y vino; y poniéndole sobre su propia cabalgadura, lo llevó a un mesón, y cuidó de él.

35 O n the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’

Al partir al día siguiente, sacó dos denarios, y los dio al mesonero, y le dijo: Cuídale; y todo lo que gastes de más, yo te lo pagaré cuando regrese.

36 N ow which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”

¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fue el prójimo del que cayó en manos de los ladrones?

37 H e said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

Él dijo: El que usó de misericordia con él. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo. Jesús visita a Marta y a María

38 A s they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

Aconteció que yendo de camino, entró en una aldea; y una mujer llamada Marta le recibió en su casa.

39 S he had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

Ésta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual, sentándose a los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra.

40 B ut Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”

Pero Marta se preocupaba con muchos quehaceres, y acercándose, dijo: Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me deje servir sola? Dile, pues, que me ayude.

41 J esus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,

Respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, estás preocupada y acongojada con muchas cosas.

42 b ut one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Pero sólo una cosa es necesaria; y María ha escogido la parte buena, la cual no le será quitada.
