1 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:

Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 S on of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah.

Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel que profetizan, y di a los que profetizan de su propio corazón: Oíd palabra de Jehová.

3 T hus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Así dice el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de los profetas insensatos, que andan en pos de su propio espíritu, y de cosas que no han visto!

4 O Israel, thy prophets have been like foxes in desert places.

Como zorras entre las ruinas, son tus profetas, oh Israel.

5 Y e have not gone up into the breaches, nor made up the fence for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of Jehovah.

No habéis subido a las brechas, ni habéis edificado un muro alrededor de la casa de Israel, para que resista firme en la batalla en el día de Jehová.

6 T hey have seen vanity and lying divination, that say, Jehovah saith! and Jehovah hath not sent them; and they make to hope that the word will be fulfilled.

Vieron vanidad y adivinación mentirosa. Dicen: Ha dicho Jehová, y Jehová no los envió; con todo, esperan que él confirme la palabra de ellos.

7 H ave ye not seen a vain vision, and spoken a lying divination, when ye say, Jehovah saith; and I have not spoken?

¿No habéis visto visión vana, y no habéis dicho adivinación mentirosa, pues que decís: Dice Jehová, no habiendo yo hablado?

8 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye speak vanity, and have seen lies, therefore behold, I am against you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto vosotros habéis hablado vanidad, y habéis visto mentiras, por tanto, he aquí yo estoy contra vosotros, dice el Señor Jehová.

9 A nd my hand shall be against the prophets that see vanity and that divine lies: they shall not be in the council of my people, neither shall they be written in the register of the house of Israel, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I the Lord Jehovah.

Y estará mi mano contra los profetas que ven vanidad y adivinan mentiras; no estarán en la congregación de mi pueblo, ni serán inscritos en el libro de la casa de Israel, ni volverán a la tierra de Israel; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová.

10 B ecause, yea because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace! and there is no peace; and one buildeth up a wall, and lo, they daub it with untempered —

Por tanto, por haber extraviado a mi pueblo, diciendo: Paz, no habiendo paz; y porque cuando uno edifica una pared a la ligera, los otros la recubren con lodo suelto,

11 s ay unto them which daub it with untempered that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing rain, and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall, and a stormy wind shall burst forth.

di a los recubridores con lodo suelto, que se caerá; vendrá lluvia torrencial, y enviaré piedras de granizo que la hagan caer, y viento tempestuoso la romperá.

12 A nd lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing with which ye have daubed ?

Y he aquí que cuando la pared se haya caído, ¿no os dirán: Dónde está la embarradura con que la recubristeis?

13 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will cause to burst forth a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing rain in mine anger, and hail-stones in fury for utter destruction.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Jehová: Haré que la rompa viento tempestuoso en mi furor, y lluvia torrencial vendrá en mi enojo, y piedras de granizo con furia para consumir.

14 A nd I will break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered; and it shall fall, and ye shall be destroyed in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I Jehovah.

Así desbarataré la pared que vosotros recubristeis con lodo suelto, y la echaré por tierra, y será descubierto su cimiento, y caerá, y seréis consumidos en medio de ella; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

15 A nd I will accomplish my fury upon the wall, and upon them that daub it with untempered, and will say unto you, The wall is no, neither they that daubed it,

Desfogaré así mi furor en la pared y en los que la recubrieron con lodo suelto; y os diré: No existe la pared, ni los que la recubrieron,

16 t he prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see a vision of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord Jehovah.

los profetas de Israel que profetizan acerca de Jerusalén, y ven para ella visión de paz, no habiendo paz, dice el Señor Jehová.

17 A nd thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them,

Y tú, hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro contra las hijas de tu pueblo que profetizan de su propio corazón, y profetiza contra ellas,

18 a nd say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the women that sew pillows for all wrists, and that make veils for the head of every stature to catch souls! Will ye catch the souls of my people, and will ye save your own souls alive?

y di: Así dice el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de aquellas que cosen cintas mágicas para todos los codos, y hacen velos mágicos para la cabeza de todas las tallas, para cazar las almas! ¿Habéis de cazar las almas de mi pueblo, para mantener así vuestra propia vida?

19 A nd will ye profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for morsels of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that listen to lying?

Vosotros me habéis deshonrado ante mi pueblo por puñados de cebada y por pedazos de pan, matando a las personas que no deben morir, y dando vida a las personas que no deben vivir, mintiendo a mi pueblo que escucha las mentiras.

20 W herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against your pillows, that the souls which ye catch by their means may fly away; and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, the souls that ye catch, that they may fly away.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo estoy contra vuestras cintas mágicas, con que cazáis las almas al vuelo; yo las libraré de vuestras manos, y soltaré para que vuelen como aves las almas que vosotros cazáis volando.

21 A nd I will tear your veils and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I Jehovah.

Romperé asimismo vuestros velos mágicos, y libraré a mi pueblo de vuestra mano, y no estarán más como presa en vuestra mano; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

22 B ecause with falsehood ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and have strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, to save his life:

Por cuanto acobardasteis con mentiras el corazón del justo, al cual yo no entristecí, y fortalecisteis las manos del impío, para que no se apartase de su mal camino, pretendiendo hacerle vivir,

23 t herefore ye shall no more see vanity, nor divine divinations; and I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I Jehovah.

por tanto, no veréis más visión vana, ni practicaréis más adivinación; y libraré mi pueblo de vuestra mano, y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
