1 T hen said Solomon: Jehovah said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

Соломон сказал: – Господь сказал, что Ему по нраву обитать в густом облаке.

2 B ut I have built a house of habitation for thee, even a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

Я построил для Тебя величественный дом – место, чтобы Тебе обитать в нем навеки. Обращение Соломона к народу (3 Цар. 8: 14-21)

3 A nd the king turned his face and blessed the whole congregation of Israel; and the whole congregation of Israel stood.

Когда все собрание израильтян стояло там, царь повернулся и благословил их.

4 A nd he said: Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying,

Затем он сказал: – Благословен Господь, Бог Израиля, Который Своими руками исполнил то, что Своими устами обещал моему отцу Давиду! Ведь Он говорил:

5 S ince the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:

«Со дня, когда Я вывел Мой народ из Египта, Я не избирал города ни в одном из родов Израиля, чтобы там построить дом для Моего Имени, и не избирал никого в вожди для Моего народа, Израиля.

6 b ut I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

Но ныне Я избрал Иерусалим, чтобы там пребывало Мое Имя, и избрал Давида, чтобы он правил Моим народом, Израилем».

7 A nd it was in the heart of David my father to build a house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.

Мой отец Давид думал построить дом для Имени Господа, Бога Израиля.

8 B ut Jehovah said to David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart;

Но Господь сказал моему отцу Давиду: «Ты задумал построить дом для Моего Имени и хорошо сделал, что задумал это.

9 n evertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

Но не ты построишь дом, а твой сын, твоя плоть и кровь, построит дом для Моего Имени».

10 A nd Jehovah has performed his word which he spoke; and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and I have built the house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.

Господь исполнил Свое обещание. Я сейчас сижу на троне Израиля, который унаследовал от своего отца Давида, как Господь и обещал, и я построил дом для Имени Господа, Бога Израиля.

11 A nd in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with the children of Israel.

Я поместил туда ковчег, в котором находится завет Господа, который Он заключил с Израилем. Молитва Соломона при посвящении храма (3 Цар. 8: 22-53)

12 A nd he stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of the whole congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands.

Соломон встал перед жертвенником Господа перед всем собранием израильтян и поднял руки.

13 F or Solomon had made a platform of bronze, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and he kneeled down on his knees before the whole congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward the heavens,

(Он сделал бронзовый помост пяти локтей в длину, пяти локтей в ширину и трех локтей в высоту и поставил его посередине внешнего двора.) Он встал на помосте, преклонил колени перед всем собранием израильтян, воздел руки к небу

14 a nd said, Jehovah, God of Israel! there is no God like thee, in the heavens or on the earth, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart;

и сказал: – Господи, Бог Израиля, нет бога, подобного Тебе, в небесах или на земле! Ты хранишь завет и милость к Твоим слугам, которые от всего сердца следуют Твоими путями.

15 w ho hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him; thou spokest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled with thy hand as at this day.

Ты сдержал обещание Твоему слуге Давиду, моему отцу. Ты произнес его Своими устами, и сегодня Своей рукой исполнил его.

16 A nd now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy sons take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.

И теперь, Господи, Бог Израиля, сдержи обещание, которое Ты дал Твоему слуге Давиду, моему отцу, сказав: «Не исчезнет у тебя преемник, сидящий предо Мной на престоле Израиля, если только твои сыновья будут держаться верного пути и следовать Моему Закону, слушаясь Меня, как слушался ты».

17 A nd now, Jehovah, God of Israel, let thy word be verified which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.

И теперь, Господи, Бог Израиля, пусть исполнится слово, сказанное Тобой Твоему слуге Давиду!

18 B ut will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? behold, the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

Но будет ли Бог действительно обитать на земле с людьми? Небеса, даже небеса небес, не могут вместить Тебя. Что же говорить об этом доме, который я построил!

19 Y et have respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, Jehovah, my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee;

Но услышь молитву Твоего слуги и его мольбу о милости, Господи, мой Бог! Услышь зов и молитву, которой молится пред Тобой Твой слуга.

20 t hat thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place in which thou hast said thou wouldest put thy name: to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

Пусть Твои глаза будут днем и ночью открыты на этот дом, это место, о котором Ты сказал, что положишь на него Свое Имя. Услышишь молитву, которой Твой слуга станет молиться, обращая свой взор к этому месту.

21 A nd hearken unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall pray toward this place, and hear thou from thy dwelling-place, from the heavens, and when thou hearest, forgive.

Услышь мольбы Твоего слуги и Твоего народа, Израиля, когда они станут молиться, обращая свой взор к этому месту. Услышь с небес, места Твоего обитания и, услышав, прости.

22 I f a man have sinned against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to adjure him, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

Если человек причинит ближнему своему зло и потребует от него клятвы, и тот придет и даст клятву перед Твоим жертвенником в этом доме,

23 t hen hear thou from the heavens, and do, and judge thy servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, giving him according to his righteousness.

то услышь с небес и воздай. Суди между Твоими слугами и воздай виновному, обрушив на его же голову то, что он сделал, и оправдай невиновного, утвердив его правоту.

24 A nd if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication before thee in this house;

Если Твой народ Израиль потерпит поражение от врагов из-за того, что согрешил против Тебя, но обратится и исповедует Твое Имя, молясь и вознося мольбы перед Тобою в этом доме,

25 t hen hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land that thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

то услышь с небес и прости грех Твоего народа, Израиля, и верни его обратно в ту землю, которую Ты дал ему и его отцам.

26 W hen the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, because thou hast afflicted them;

Если небеса затворятся и не будет дождя из-за того, что Твой народ согрешил против Тебя, и он обратит молитву к этому месту, исповедует Твое Имя и отвернется от своего греха, потому что Ты наказал его,

27 t hen hear thou in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

то услышь с небес и прости грех Твоих слуг, Твоего народа, Израиля. Научи их доброму пути, чтобы им ходить по нему и пошли дождь на землю, которую Ты дал в наследие Твоему народу.

28 I f there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their gates; whatever plague or whatever sickness there be:

Если землю поразят голод или мор, тлетворный ветер или плесень, саранча или гусеницы, или если враги осадят один из городов израильтян – какая бы ни пришла беда или болезнь, –

29 w hat prayer, what supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, when they shall know every man his own plague, and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house;

то какую бы молитву, какую бы мольбу ни вознес один человек или весь Твой народ, Израиль, когда все они почувствуют свою скорбь и горесть и будут простирать руки к этому дому,

30 t hen hear thou from the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men),

услышь с небес, места Твоего обитания. Прости и воздай каждому по его делам, потому что Ты знаешь его сердце (ведь Ты один знаешь человеческие сердца),

31 t hat they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, all the days that they live upon the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

чтобы они боялись Тебя и ходили Твоими путями все время, что они будут жить на земле, которую Ты дал нашим отцам.

32 A nd as to the stranger also, who is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand and thy stretched-out arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house,

Также и чужеземца, который не из Твоего народа, Израиля, но который пришел из далекой земли ради Твоего великого Имени, Твоей могучей длани и Твоей простертой руки, когда он придет и обратит свою молитву к этому дому,

33 t hen hear thou from the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; in order that all peoples of the earth may know thy name, and may fear thee as do thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

то услышь с небес, с места Твоего обитания, и сделай все, о чем Тебя попросит чужеземец, чтобы все народы земли узнали Твое Имя и боялись Тебя, как Твой народ, Израиль, и узнали, что этот дом, который я построил, называется Твоим Именем.

34 I f thy people go out to battle against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;

Когда Твой народ пойдет воевать с врагами, каким бы путем Ты его ни повел, и когда он станет молиться Тебе, обратясь к этому городу, который Ты избрал, и к дому, который я построил для Твоего Имени,

35 t hen hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their right.

то услышь с небес его молитвы и мольбы и приди к нему на помощь.

36 I f they have sinned against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and give them up to the enemy, and they have carried them away captives unto a land far off or near;

Если они согрешат против Тебя – ведь нет никого, кто бы не грешил, – и Ты разгневаешься на них и отдашь их врагам, которые уведут их пленными в свою землю, будь она далеко или близко,

37 a nd if they shall take it to heart in the land whither they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done iniquity and have dealt perversely;

то если Твой народ переменится сердцем в земле, где они будут пленниками, если они покаются, станут молить Тебя в земле своего плена, говоря: «Мы согрешили, мы сотворили зло и поступали нечестиво»,

38 a nd if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;

и если они обратятся к Тебе от всего сердца и от всей души в земле врагов, которые пленили их, и станут молиться, обращаясь к земле, которую Ты дал их отцам, к городу, который Ты избрал, и к дому, который я построил для Твоего Имени,

39 t hen hear thou from the heavens, from the settled place of thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their right, and forgive thy people their sin against thee.

то услышь с небес, места Твоего обитания, их молитвы и мольбы и приди им на помощь. Прости тогда Твой народ, который согрешил против Тебя.

40 N ow, my God, I beseech thee, let thine eyes be open and let thine ears be attentive unto the prayer in this place.

И теперь, Бог мой, да будут глаза Твои открыты и слух Твой чуток к молитвам, которые будут возноситься на этом месте.

41 A nd now, arise, Jehovah Elohim, into thy resting-place, thou and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, Jehovah Elohim, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

Поднимись же, Господи Боже, и приди на место Твоего покоя, Ты и ковчег Твоей мощи. Пусть священники Твои, Господи Боже, облачатся в спасение, пусть святые Твои возрадуются о Твоей благости.

42 J ehovah Elohim, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember mercies to David thy servant.

Не отвергни, Господи Боже, помазанника Твоего. Помни о великой милости, обещанной слуге Твоему Давиду.
