1 I n the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 A nd the earth was waste and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Земля была пуста и безлика, тьма была над бездной, и Дух Божий парил над водами.

3 A nd God said, Let there be light. And there was light.

Бог сказал: «Да будет свет», – и появился свет.

4 A nd God saw the light that it was good; and God divided between the light and the darkness.

Бог увидел, что свет хорош, и отделил его от тьмы.

5 A nd God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Бог назвал свет днем, а тьму – ночью. Был вечер, и было утро – день первый.

6 A nd God said, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it be a division between waters and waters.

И сказал Бог: «Да будет свод между водами, чтобы отделить воду от воды».

7 A nd God made the expanse, and divided between the waters that are under the expanse and the waters that are above the expanse; and it was so.

Бог создал свод и отделил воду под сводом от воды над ним, и стало так.

8 A nd God called the expanse Heavens. And there was evening, and there was morning—a second day.

Бог назвал свод небом. Был вечер, и было утро – день второй.

9 A nd God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together to one place, and let the dry appear. And it was so.

И сказал Бог: «Да соберутся вместе воды под небом, и да появится суша», и стало так.

10 A nd God called the dry Earth, and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

Бог назвал сушу землей, а собранные воды назвал морями и Бог увидел, что это хорошо.

11 A nd God said, Let the earth cause grass to spring up, herb producing seed, fruit-trees yielding fruit after their kind, the seed of which is in them, on the earth. And it was so.

«Да произведет земля растительность: растения с их семенами и различные виды деревьев на земле, которые приносят плод с семенем внутри», – сказал Бог, и стало так.

12 A nd the earth brought forth grass, herb producing seed after its kind, and trees yielding fruit, the seed of which is in them, after their kind. And God saw that it was good.

Земля произвела растительность: разные виды растений, приносящих семя, и все виды деревьев, приносящих плод с семенем внутри. И Бог увидел, что это хорошо.

13 A nd there was evening, and there was morning—a third day.

Был вечер, и было утро – день третий.

14 A nd God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens, to divide between the day and the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

И Бог сказал: «Да будут светила на небесном своде, чтобы отделять день от ночи, и пусть они служат знаками, чтобы различать времена, дни, и годы,

15 a nd let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth. And it was so.

и пусть они будут светильниками на небесном своде, чтобы светить на землю». И стало так.

16 A nd God made the two great lights, the great light to rule the day, and the small light to rule the night,—and the stars.

Бог создал два великих светила – большое светило, чтобы управлять днем, и малое светило, чтобы управлять ночью, а также Он создал звезды.

17 A nd God set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth,

Бог поместил их на небесном своде, чтобы они светили на землю,

18 a nd to rule during the day and during the night, and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

управляли днем и ночью и отделяли свет от тьмы. Бог увидел, что это хорошо.

19 A nd there was evening, and there was morning—a fourth day.

Был вечер, и было утро – день четвертый.

20 A nd God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living souls, and let fowl fly above the earth in the expanse of the heavens.

Бог сказал: «Да наполнится вода живностью, и да полетят над землей по небосводу птицы».

21 A nd God created the great sea monsters, and every living soul that moves with which the waters swarm, after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Бог создал огромных морских чудищ, разные виды движущейся живности, кишащей в воде, и разные виды крылатых птиц. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

22 A nd God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply on the earth.

Бог благословил их и сказал: «Плодитесь и размножайтесь, наполняйте воды в морях, и пусть птицы множатся на земле».

23 A nd there was evening, and there was morning—a fifth day.

Был вечер, и было утро – день пятый.

24 A nd God said, Let the earth bring forth living souls after their kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth, after their kind. And it was so.

И сказал Бог: «Да произведет земля разные виды живности: скот, пресмыкающихся и диких зверей», и стало так.

25 A nd God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Бог создал разные виды диких зверей, и скота, и все виды пресмыкающихся. И увидел Он, что это хорошо.

26 A nd God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over the whole earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.

Потом Бог сказал: «Создадим человека – Наш образ и Наше подобие, – пусть он царствует над рыбами морскими и птицами небесными, над скотом, над всей землей и над всеми пресмыкающимися».

27 A nd God created Man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Так Бог сотворил человека по образу Своему, по образу Божьему Он сотворил его; мужчину и женщину Он сотворил их.

28 A nd God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over every animal that moveth on the earth.

Бог благословил их и сказал: «Плодитесь и размножайтесь; наполняйте землю и владейте ею. Царствуйте над рыбами морскими, и птицами небесными, и над всеми пресмыкающимися».

29 A nd God said, Behold, I have given you every herb producing seed that is on the whole earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree producing seed: it shall be food for you;

Затем Бог сказал: «Я даю вам все растения с семенами по всей земле и все деревья, дающие плод с семенем внутри; они будут вам в пропитание.

30 a nd to every animal of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth on the earth, in which is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so.

И всем зверям земным, и всем птицам небесным, и всем пресмыкающимся – всем, в ком дышит жизнь – Я даю в пищу всякую зелень». И стало так.

31 A nd God saw everything that he had made, and behold it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Бог посмотрел на все, что Он создал, и все было очень хорошо. Был вечер, и было утро – день шестой.
