1 H ow doth the city sit solitary was full of people! She that was great among the nations is become as a widow; the princess among the provinces is become tributary!

Как одиноко стоит столица, что некогда была многолюдной! Она стала, как вдова, а была великой среди народов, была царицей над областями, но стала рабыней.

2 S he weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she hath no comforter; all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.

Горько плачет она ночью, и слезы текут по ее щекам. Нет у нее утешителя среди всех возлюбленных ее, все друзья изменили ей и стали врагами.

3 J udah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude; she dwelleth among the nations, she findeth no rest: all her pursuers have overtaken her within the straits.

Иудея пошла в изгнание, после бед и тяжкого рабства. Поселилась она среди других народов, но не нашла покоя. Все ее преследователи настигли ее посреди бедствия.

4 T he ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn assembly: all her gates are desolate; her priests sigh, her virgins are in grief; and as for her, she is in bitterness.

Дороги Сиона плачут, потому что никто не идет на праздник. Все ворота столицы опустели, стонут священники ее, девушки печальны, горько и ей самой.

5 H er adversaries have become the head, her enemies prosper; for Jehovah hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the adversary.

Враги правят ею, неприятели ее благоденствуют. Горе послал ей Господь из-за множества ее беззаконий. Дети ее пошли в плен, враг гонит их перед собой.

6 A nd from the daughter of Zion all her splendour is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture; and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.

Все великолепие покинуло дочь Сиона. Вожди ее подобны оленям, не находящим пастбища; обессиленные, они бегут впереди погонщика.

7 I n the days of her affliction and of her wanderings, since her people fell into the hand of an adversary, and none did help her, Jerusalem remembereth all her precious things which she had in the days of old: the adversaries have seen her, they mock at her ruin.

В дни своих бедствий и скитаний вспомнила столица о всех драгоценностях, которые были у нее в прежние дни. Когда народ ее попал в руки врага, никто не помог ей; враги смотрели на нее и смеялись над ее поражением.

8 J erusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore is she removed as an impurity: all that honoured her despise her because they have seen her nakedness; and she sigheth, and turneth backward.

Ужасно согрешила столица, поэтому она и стала нечистой. Все, кто прославлял ее, теперь презирают, потому что увидели ее наготу. Да и сама она вздыхает и отворачивается;

9 H er impurity was in her skirts, she remembered not her latter end; and she came down wonderfully: she hath no comforter. Jehovah, behold my affliction; for the enemy hath magnified himself.

ее нечистота замарала ей подол. И так как она не задумывалась о будущем, падение ее было ошеломительным, и не было у нее утешителя. – О Господь, взгляни на мое страдание, ведь враг торжествует!

10 T he adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her precious things; for she hath seen the nations enter into her sanctuary, concerning whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.

Враг похитил у нее все самое ценное; она видит, как в ее святилище входят язычники, те, кому Ты запретил вступать в Твое собрание.

11 A ll her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their precious things for food to revive soul. See, Jehovah, and consider, for I am become vile.

Весь народ ее стонет в поисках хлеба, отдает драгоценности свои за пищу, лишь бы жизнь сохранить. – О Господь, обрати Твой взор и посмотри как я унижена! Вопль Иерусалима

12 I s it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, whom Jehovah hath afflicted in the day of his fierce anger.

Неужели это не трогает вас, все проходящие мимо? Взгляните и посмотрите, есть ли страдание, подобное моему страданию, которое постигло меня, которое Господь послал на меня в день Своего пылающего гнева?

13 F rom on high hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them; he hath spread a net for my feet; he hath turned me back; he hath made me desolate faint all the day.

Свыше Он послал огонь, послал его в кости мои. Он раскинул сеть для ног моих, опрокинул меня. Он опустошил меня и наполнил дни мои болезнью.

14 T he yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, they are come up upon my neck; he hath made my strength to fail; the Lord hath delivered me into hands out of which I am not able to rise up.

Беззакония мои Он взял и, связав их, сделал из них ярмо. Владыка возложил его на шею мою, чем ослабил силы мои. Он отдал меня в руки тех, кому я не могу противостоять.

15 T he Lord hath cast down all my mighty men in the midst of me; he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men; the Lord hath trodden as a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.

Владыка низложил среди меня всех сильных моих, собрал против меня войска, чтобы истребить моих юношей; как в давильне, истоптал Владыка девственную дочь Иуды.

16 F or these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water: for the comforter that should revive my soul is far from me; my children are desolate, for the enemy hath prevailed.

Вот почему я плачу, и из глаз моих потоками льются слезы. Рядом нет никого, кто бы утешил меня, оживил бы душу мою. Дети мои разорены, потому что враг одолел их.

17 Z ion spreadeth forth her hands; there is none to comfort her; Jehovah hath commanded concerning Jacob, his adversaries round about him; Jerusalem is as an impurity among them.

Сион простирает руки свои, но нет никого, кто бы утешил его. Господь повелел окружающим народам враждовать с Иаковом. Иерусалим стал мерзостью среди них.

18 J ehovah is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment. Hear, I pray you, all ye peoples, and behold my sorrow. My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.

– Праведен Господь, а я была непокорна слову Его. Послушайте, все народы, и взгляните на страдание мое. Девушки и юноши мои пошли в плен.

19 I called for my lovers, they have deceived me; my priests and mine elders have expired in the city, while they sought them food to revive their soul.

Звала я возлюбленных моих, но они меня предали. Священники и старцы мои умирали в городе, ища себе пищи, чтобы сохранить себе жизнь.

20 S ee, Jehovah, for I am in distress, my bowels are troubled; my heart is turned within me, for I have grievously rebelled: without, the sword hath bereaved, within, it is as death.

Взгляни, Господь, как я страдаю: душа моя мается, и сердце потеряло покой, потому что я упорно противилась Тебе. Снаружи меч лишил меня детей, а внутри – поселилась смерть.

21 T hey have heard that I sigh: I have no comforter: all mine enemies have heard of my calamity; they are glad that thou hast done it. Thou wilt bring the day that thou hast called, and they shall be like unto me.

Люди услышали стоны мои, но нет мне утешителя. Все враги мои услышали о бедствии моем и были рады тому, что Ты сделал со мною. Пусть же наступит день, объявленный Тобой, когда с ними случится то же, что и со мной.

22 L et all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.

Пусть все их злодеяния предстанут пред Тобой, и поступи с ними так же, как Ты поступил со мною за все грехи мои, потому что многочисленны стоны мои, и изнемогает сердце мое.
