1 O tra vez entró Jesús en la sinagoga; y había allí un hombre que tenía seca una mano.

He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered.

2 Y le acechaban para ver si le sanaría en sábado, a fin de poder acusarle.

They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.

3 E ntonces le dijo al hombre que tenía la mano seca: Levántate y ponte en medio.

He said to the man who had his hand withered, “Stand up.”

4 Y les dijo: ¿Es lícito en sábado hacer bien, o hacer mal; salvar una vida, o matar? Pero ellos callaban.

He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?” But they were silent.

5 Y después de echarles una mirada alrededor con ira, entristecido por la dureza de sus corazones, le dijo al hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y la mano le quedó restablecida.

When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.

6 Y los fariseos comenzaron en seguida a tramar con los herodianos contra él para ver cómo destruirle. La multitud a la orilla del mar

The Pharisees went out, and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

7 M as Jesús se retiró al mar con sus discípulos, y le siguió gran multitud de Galilea. También de Judea,

Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,

8 d e Jerusalén, de Idumea, del otro lado del Jordán, y de los alrededores de Tiro y de Sidón, una gran multitud, enterada de todo cuanto Jesús estaba haciendo, acudió a él.

from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.

9 Y les dijo a sus discípulos que le tuviesen lista una barca, a causa del gentío, para que no le estrujaran.

He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press on him.

10 P orque había sanado a muchos; hasta el punto de que cuantos padecían dolencias, se le echaban encima para tocarle.

For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.

11 Y siempre que los espíritus inmundos le veían, caían delante de él y gritaban, diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios.

The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, “You are the Son of God!”

12 M as él les advertía seriamente que no manifestasen quién era. Elección de los doce apóstoles

He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.

13 S ubió al monte, y llamó junto a sí a los que él quiso; y vinieron a él.

He went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.

14 Y designó a doce, para que estuviesen con él, y para enviarlos a predicar,

He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach,

15 y que tuviesen autoridad para sanar enfermedades y para expulsar demonios.

and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:

16 D esignó a los doce y puso a Simón por sobrenombre Pedro;

Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter;

17 a Jacobo, el hijo de Zebedeo, y a Juan el hermano de Jacobo, a quienes puso por sobrenombre Boanerges, es decir, Hijos del trueno;

James the son of Zebedee; John, the brother of James, and he called them Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder;

18 a Andrés, Felipe, Bartolomé, Mateo, Tomás, Jacobo el de Alfeo, Tadeo, Simón el cananita,

Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;

19 y Judas Iscariote, el mismo que le traicionó. La blasfemia contra el Espíritu Santo

and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. He came into a house.

20 L uego entró en una casa. Y se aglomeró de nuevo la multitud, hasta el punto de que no podían ni probar bocado.

The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21 C uando se enteraron sus parientes, salieron para hacerse cargo de él; porque decían: Está fuera de sí.

When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him: for they said, “He is insane.”

22 Y los escribas que habían bajado de Jerusalén decían: Está poseído por Beelzebú, y: En nombre del príncipe de los demonios es como expulsa éste los demonios.

The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons.”

23 É l les llamó junto a sí y les decía en parábolas: ¿Cómo puede Satanás expulsar a Satanás?

He summoned them, and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?

24 S i un reino está dividido contra sí mismo, ese reino no puede seguir en pie.

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 Y si una casa está dividida contra sí misma, esa casa no podrá mantenerse en pie.

If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 Y si Satanás se ha levantado contra sí mismo, y se ha dividido, no puede mantenerse en pie, sino que ha llegado su fin.

If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can’t stand, but has an end.

27 P ero nadie puede entrar en la casa de un hombre forzudo y saquear sus bienes, si primero no ata al forzudo, y entonces podrá saquear su casa.

But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder, unless he first binds the strong man; and then he will plunder his house.

28 E n verdad os digo que todo será perdonado a los hijos de los hombres, los pecados y las blasfemias, cualesquiera que sean;

Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;

29 p ero el que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, no tiene jamás perdón, sino que es reo de un pecado eterno.

but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”

30 P orque decían: Tiene un espíritu inmundo. La madre y los hermanos de Jesús

—because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

31 E n esto, llegaron su madre y sus hermanos, y quedándose afuera, enviaron a llamarle.

His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.

32 H abía una multitud sentada alrededor de él, y le dijeron: Tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera, y te buscan.

A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”

33 É l les respondió diciendo: ¿Quiénes son mi madre y mis hermanos?

He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”

34 Y mirando en torno a los que estaban sentados en corro a su alrededor, dijo: Éstos son mi madre y mis hermanos.

Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!

35 P orque cualquiera que hace la voluntad de Dios, ése es mi hermano, mi hermana, y mi madre.

For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.”
