1 A lcé después mis ojos y miré, y he aquí un varón que tenía en su mano un cordel de medir.

I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

2 Y le dije: ¿Adónde vas? Y él me respondió: A medir a Jerusalén, para ver cuánta es su anchura, y cuánta su longitud.

Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”

3 Y he aquí, salía aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo, y otro ángel le salió al encuentro,

Behold, the angel who talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him,

4 y le dijo: Corre, habla a este joven, diciendo: Sin muros será habitada Jerusalén, a causa de la multitud de hombres y de ganado en medio de ella.

and said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.

5 Y o seré para ella, dice Jehová, muro de fuego en derredor, y para gloria estaré en medio de ella.

For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.

6 E h, eh, huid de la tierra del norte, dice Jehová, pues por los cuatro vientos de los cielos os esparcí, dice Jehová.

Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says Yahweh.

7 O h Sión, la que moras con la hija de Babilonia, escápate.

‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’

8 P orque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Tras la gloria me enviará él a las naciones que os despojaron; porque el que os toca, toca a la niña de su ojo.

For Yahweh of Armies says: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.

9 P orque he aquí, yo voy a alzar mi mano sobre ellos, y serán despojo para los que eran sus esclavos, y sabréis que Jehová de los ejércitos me envió.

For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me.

10 C anta y alégrate, hija de Sión; porque he aquí que vengo, y moraré en medio de ti, dice Jehová.

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell within you,’ says Yahweh.

11 Y se unirán muchas naciones a Jehová en aquel día, y me serán por pueblo, y moraré en medio de ti; y entonces conocerás que Jehová de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti.

Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell among you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

12 Y Jehová poseerá a Judá como su heredad en la tierra santa, y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén.

Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.

13 C alle toda carne delante de Jehová; porque él se ha levantado de su santa morada.

Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!”
