1 A demás, os voy a exponer, hermanos, el evangelio que os he predicado, el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también estáis firmes;

Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand,

2 p or el cual asimismo, si retenéis la palabra que os he predicado, sois salvos, si no creísteis en vano.

by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 P orque en primer lugar os transmití lo que asimismo recibí: Que Cristo murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a las Escrituras;

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 y que fue sepultado, y que resucitó al tercer día conforme a las Escrituras;

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

5 y que se apareció a Cefas, y después a los doce.

and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

6 D espués se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, de los cuales la mayoría viven aún, pero algunos ya se durmieron.

Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have also fallen asleep.

7 D espués se apareció a Jacobo; después a todos los apóstoles;

Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,

8 y al último de todos, como a un abortivo, se me apareció a mí.

and last of all, as to the child born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also.

9 P orque yo soy el más pequeño de los apóstoles, que no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, porque perseguí a la iglesia de Dios.

For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the assembly of God.

10 P ero por la gracia de Dios, soy lo que soy; y su gracia para conmigo no ha resultado estéril, sino que he trabajado más que todos ellos; pero no yo, sino la gracia de Dios conmigo.

But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was given to me was not futile, but I worked more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11 P orque, o sea yo o sean ellos, así predicamos, y así habéis creído.

Whether then it is I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.

12 P ero si se predica de Cristo que resucitó de los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos entre vosotros que no hay resurrección de muertos?

Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 P orque si no hay resurrección de muertos, tampoco Cristo resucitó.

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised.

14 Y si Cristo no resucitó, vana es entonces nuestra predicación, vana es también vuestra fe.

If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain.

15 Y somos hallados falsos testigos de Dios; porque hemos testificado en contra de Dios que él resucitó a Cristo, al cual no resucitó, si en verdad los muertos no resucitan.

Yes, we are found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Christ, whom he didn’t raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised.

16 P orque si los muertos no resucitan, tampoco Cristo resucitó;

For if the dead aren’t raised, neither has Christ been raised.

17 y si Cristo no resucitó, vuestra fe es vana; aún estáis en vuestros pecados.

If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins.

18 E ntonces también los que durmieron en Cristo, han perecido.

Then they also who are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

19 S i solamente en esta vida tenemos puesta nuestra esperanza en Cristo, somos los más dignos de lástima de todos los hombres.

If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

20 A hora bien, Cristo ha resucitado de los muertos; primicias de los que durmieron es hecho.

But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep.

21 P orque ya que la muerte entró por un hombre, también por un hombre la resurrección de los muertos.

For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.

22 P orque así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo todos serán vivificados.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

23 P ero cada uno en su debido orden: Cristo, las primicias; después, los que son de Cristo, en su venida.

But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s, at his coming.

24 D espués el fin, cuando entregue el reino al Dios y Padre, cuando haya suprimido todo principado, toda autoridad y potencia.

Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

25 P orque es preciso que él reine hasta que haya puesto a todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

26 Y el último enemigo que será suprimido es la muerte.

The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

27 P orque todas las cosas las sometió debajo de sus pies. Y cuando dice que todas las cosas han sido sometidas a él, claramente se exceptúa aquel que sometió a él todas las cosas.

For, “He put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when he says, “All things are put in subjection”, it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him.

28 Y cuando todas las cosas le estén sometidas, entonces también el Hijo mismo se someterá al que le sometió a él todas las cosas, para que Dios sea todo en todos.

When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all.

29 D e otro modo, ¿qué harán los que se bautizan por los muertos, si en ninguna manera los muertos resucitan? ¿Por qué, pues, se bautizan por los muertos?

Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised at all, why then are they baptized for the dead?

30 ¿ Y por qué nosotros peligramos en todo momento?

Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

31 O s aseguro, hermanos, por la gloria que de vosotros tengo en nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que cada día muero.

I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

32 S i como hombre batallé en Éfeso contra fieras, ¿de qué me aprovecha? Si los muertos no resucitan, comamos y bebamos, porque mañana moriremos.

If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then “let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

33 N o os dejéis engañar; las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres.

Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”

34 G uardad la debida sobriedad, y no sigáis pecando; porque algunos desconocen a Dios; para vergüenza vuestra lo digo.

Wake up righteously, and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

35 P ero dirá alguno: ¿Cómo resucitarán los muertos? ¿Con qué clase de cuerpo vendrán?

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised?” and, “With what kind of body do they come?”

36 I nsensato, lo que tú siembras no se vivifica, si no muere antes.

You foolish one, that which you yourself sow is not made alive unless it dies.

37 Y lo que siembras no es el cuerpo que ha de salir, sino el grano desnudo, ya sea de trigo o de otra cosa;

That which you sow, you don’t sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind.

38 p ero Dios le da un cuerpo como él quiso, y a cada semilla su propio cuerpo.

But God gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.

39 N o toda carne es la misma carne, sino que una carne es la de los hombres, otra carne la de las bestias, otra la de los peces, y otra la de las aves.

All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.

40 Y hay cuerpos celestiales, y cuerpos terrenales; pero uno es el resplandor de los celestiales, y otro diferente el de los terrenales.

There are also celestial bodies, and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial differs from that of the terrestrial.

41 U no es el resplandor del sol, otro el resplandor de la luna, y otro el resplandor de las estrellas, pues una estrella se diferencia de otra en el resplandor.

There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

42 A sí también es la resurrección de los muertos. Se siembra en corrupción, resucitará en incorrupción.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown perishable; it is raised imperishable.

43 S e siembra en deshonor, resucitará en gloria; se siembra en debilidad, resucitará en poder.

It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.

44 S e siembra cuerpo natural, resucitará cuerpo espiritual. Hay un cuerpo natural, y hay un cuerpo espiritual.

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.

45 A sí también está escrito: Fue hecho el primer hombre Adán alma viviente; el postrer Adán, espíritu vivificante.

So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

46 M as no es primero lo espiritual, sino lo natural; después, lo espiritual.

However that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual.

47 E l primer hombre, sacado de la tierra, es terrenal; el segundo hombre, que es el Señor, es del cielo.

The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 C ual el terrenal, tales también los terrenales; y cual el celestial, tales también los celestiales.

As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 Y así como hemos llevado la imagen del terrenal, llevaremos también la imagen del celestial.

As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 P ero esto digo, hermanos: que la carne y la sangre no pueden heredar el reino de Dios, ni la corrupción hereda la incorrupción.

Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.

51 H e aquí, os digo un misterio: No todos dormiremos; pero todos seremos transformados,

Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

52 e n un instante, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la final trompeta; porque se tocará la trompeta, y los muertos serán resucitados incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados.

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.

53 P orque es menester que esto corruptible sea vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal sea vestido de inmortalidad.

For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 Y cuando esto corruptible se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que está escrita: Sorbida es la muerte con victoria.

But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

55 ¿ Dónde está, oh muerte, tu victoria? ¿Dónde está, oh sepulcro, tu aguijón?

“Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?”

56 E l aguijón de la muerte es el pecado, y el poder del pecado, la ley.

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

57 P ero gracias sean dadas a Dios, que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 A sí que, hermanos míos amados, sed firmes y constantes, abundando en la obra del Señor siempre, sabiendo que vuestro trabajo en el Señor no es en vano.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
