1 D avid volvió a reunir a todos los escogidos de Israel, treinta mil.

David again gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

2 Y acompañado de todo el pueblo que iba tras él, se puso en marcha desde Baalá de Judá, para subir desde allí el arca de Dios, sobre la cual era invocado el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, que mora entre los querubines.

David arose, and went with all the people who were with him, from Baale Judah, to bring up from there God’s ark, which is called by the Name, even the name of Yahweh of Armies who sits above the cherubim.

3 P usieron el arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, y la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab, que está en la colina; y Uzá y Ayó, hijos de Abinadab, guiaban el carro nuevo.

They set God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house that was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.

4 Y cuando lo llevaban de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en la colina, con el arca de Dios, Ayó iba delante del arca.

They brought it out of Abinadab’s house, which was in the hill, with God’s ark; and Ahio went before the ark.

5 Y David y toda la casa de Israel danzaban delante de Jehová con toda clase de instrumentos de madera de haya; con arpas, salterios, panderos, flautas y címbalos.

David and all the house of Israel played before Yahweh with all kinds of instruments made of cypress wood, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with castanets, and with cymbals.

6 C uando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uzá extendió su mano al arca de Dios, y la sostuvo; porque los bueyes tropezaban.

When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached for God’s ark, and took hold of it; for the cattle stumbled.

7 Y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uzá, y lo hirió allí Dios por aquella temeridad, y cayó allí muerto junto al arca de Dios.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzzah; and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by God’s ark.

8 Y se entristeció David por haber herido Jehová a Uzá, y fue llamado aquel lugar Pérez-uzá, hasta hoy.

David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzzah; and he called that place Perez Uzzah, to this day.

9 Y temiendo David a Jehová aquel día, dijo: ¿Cómo ha de venir a mí el arca de Jehová?

David was afraid of Yahweh that day; and he said, “How could Yahweh’s ark come to me?”

10 D e modo que David no quiso traer para sí el arca de Jehová a la ciudad de David; y la hizo llevar David a casa de Obed-edom geteo.

So David would not move Yahweh’s ark to be with him in David’s city; but David carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.

11 Y estuvo el arca de Jehová en casa de Obed-edom geteo tres meses; y bendijo Jehová a Obed-edom y a toda su casa. David trae el arca a Jerusalén

Yahweh’s ark remained in Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house three months; and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom and all his house.

12 F ue dado aviso al rey David, diciendo: Jehová ha bendecido la casa de Obed-edom y todo lo que tiene, a causa del arca de Dios. Entonces David fue, y llevó con alegría el arca de Dios de casa de Obed-edom a la ciudad de David.

King David was told, “Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that belongs to him, because of God’s ark.” So David went and brought up God’s ark from the house of Obed-Edom into David’s city with joy.

13 Y cuando los que llevaban el arca de Dios habían andado seis pasos, él sacrificaba un buey y un carnero cebado.

When those who bore Yahweh’s ark had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.

14 Y David danzaba con toda su fuerza delante de Jehová vestido sólo con un efod de lino.

David danced before Yahweh with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod.

15 A sí David y toda la casa de Israel subieron el arca de Jehová con júbilo y sonido de trompeta.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up Yahweh’s ark with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 C uando el arca de Jehová llegó a la ciudad de David, aconteció que Mical hija de Saúl miró desde una ventana, y vio al rey David que saltaba y danzaba delante de Jehová; y le menospreció en su corazón.

As Yahweh’s ark came into David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out through the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Yahweh; and she despised him in her heart.

17 M etieron, pues, el arca de Jehová, y la pusieron en su lugar en medio de una tienda que David le había levantado; y sacrificó David holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante de Jehová.

They brought in Yahweh’s ark, and set it in its place, in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

18 Y cuando David acabó de ofrecer los holocaustos y ofrendas de paz, bendijo al pueblo en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos.

When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of Armies.

19 Y repartió a todo el pueblo, y a toda la multitud de Israel, así a hombres como a mujeres, a cada uno un pan, y un pedazo de carne y una torta de pasas. Y se fue todo el pueblo, cada uno a su casa.

He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.

20 C uando volvió David para bendecir su casa, salió Mical a recibir a David y le dijo: ¡Cuán honrado ha quedado hoy el rey de Israel, descubriéndose hoy delante de las criadas de sus siervos, como se descubre sin decoro un cualquiera!

Then David returned to bless his household. Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious the king of Israel was today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the servants of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

21 E ntonces David respondió a Mical: Fue delante de Jehová, quien me eligió prefiriéndome a tu padre y a toda tu casa, para constituirme por príncipe sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel. Por tanto, danzaré delante de Jehová.

David said to Michal, “It was before Yahweh, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Yahweh, over Israel. Therefore I will celebrate before Yahweh.

22 Y aun me haré más vil que esta vez, y seré bajo a tus ojos; pero seré honrado delante de las criadas de quienes has hablado.

I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in my own sight. But of the servants of whom you have spoken, they will honor me.”

23 Y Mical hija de Saúl no tuvo ya hijos hasta el día de su muerte.

Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.
