1 H abló David a Jehová las palabras de este cántico, el día que Jehová le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl.

David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,

2 D ijo: Jehová es mi roca y mi fortaleza, y mi libertador;

and he said: “Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;

3 D ios mío, fortaleza mía, en él confiaré; Mi escudo, y el fuerte de mi salvación, mi alto refugio; Salvador mío; de violencia me libraste.

God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence.

4 I nvocaré a Jehová, quien es digno de ser alabado, Y seré salvo de mis enemigos.

I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

5 M e rodearon ondas de muerte, Y torrentes de perversidad me atemorizaron.

For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

6 L azos del Seol me rodearon; Tendieron sobre mí trampas de muerte.

The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.

7 E n mi angustia invoqué a Jehová, Y clamé a mi Dios; Él oyó mi voz desde su templo, Y mi clamor llegó a sus oídos.

In my distress, I called on Yahweh. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.

8 L a tierra fue conmovida, y tembló, Y se conmovieron los cimientos de los cielos; Se estremecieron, porque se indignó él.

Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.

9 H umo subió de su nariz, Y de su boca fuego consumidor; Carbones fueron por él encendidos.

Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.

10 E inclinó los cielos, y descendió: Y había tinieblas debajo de sus pies.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.

11 Y cabalgó sobre un querubín, y voló; Voló sobre las alas del viento.

He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.

12 P uso tinieblas por su escondedero alrededor de sí; Oscuridad de aguas y densas nubes.

He made darkness a shelter around himself: gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 P or el resplandor de su presencia se encendieron carbones ardientes.

At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.

14 Y tronó desde los cielos Jehová. Y el Altísimo dio su voz;

Yahweh thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.

15 E nvió sus saetas, y los dispersó; Y lanzó relámpagos, y los destruyó.

He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and confused them.

16 E ntonces aparecieron los torrentes de las aguas, Y quedaron al descubierto los cimientos del mundo; A la reprensión de Jehová, Por el soplo del aliento de su nariz.

Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by Yahweh’s rebuke, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 E nvió desde lo alto y me tomó; Me sacó de las muchas aguas.

He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.

18 M e libró de poderoso enemigo, Y de los que me aborrecían, aunque eran más fuertes que yo.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

19 M e asaltaron en el día de mi quebranto: Mas Jehová fue mi apoyo,

They came on me in the day of my calamity, but Yahweh was my support.

20 Y me sacó a lugar espacioso; Me libró, porque puso en mí su complacencia.

He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 J ehová me ha premiado conforme a mi justicia; Conforme a la limpieza de mis manos me ha recompensado.

Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.

22 P orque yo he guardado los caminos de Jehová, Y no me aparté impíamente de mi Dios.

For I have kept Yahweh’s ways, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 P ues todos sus decretos estuvieron delante de mí, Y no me he apartado de sus estatutos.

For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 F ui recto para con él, Y me he guardado de mi maldad;

I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

25 P or lo cual me ha recompensado Jehová conforme a mi justicia; Conforme a la limpieza de mis manos delante de su vista.

Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.

26 C on el misericordioso te mostrarás misericordioso, Y recto para con el hombre íntegro.

With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.

27 L impio te mostrarás para con el limpio, Y rígido serás para con el perverso.

With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

28 P orque tú salvas al pueblo afligido, Mas tus ojos están sobre los altivos para abatirlos.

You will save the afflicted people, But your eyes are on the haughty, that you may bring them down.

29 T ú eres mi lámpara, oh Jehová; Mi Dios alumbrará mis tinieblas.

For you are my lamp, Yahweh. Yahweh will light up my darkness.

30 C ontigo desbarataré ejércitos, Y con mi Dios asaltaré muros.

For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.

31 E n cuanto a Dios, perfecto es su camino, Y acrisolada la palabra de Jehová. Escudo es a todos los que en él esperan.

As for God, his way is perfect. Yahweh’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

32 P orque ¿quién es Dios, sino sólo Jehová? ¿Y qué roca hay fuera de nuestro Dios?

For who is God, besides Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God?

33 D ios es el que me ciñe de fuerza, Y quien despeja mi camino;

God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.

34 Q uien hace mis pies como de ciervas, Y me sostiene en las alturas;

He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.

35 Q uien adiestra mis manos para la batalla, De manera que se doble el arco de bronce con mis brazos.

He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass.

36 M e diste asimismo el escudo de tu salvación, Y tu benignidad me ha engrandecido.

You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.

37 T ú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, Y mis pies no han resbalado.

You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.

38 P erseguiré a mis enemigos, y los destruiré, Y no volveré hasta acabarlos.

I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.

39 L os consumiré y los heriré, de modo que no se levanten; Caerán debajo de mis pies.

I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet.

40 P ues me ceñiste de fuerzas para la pelea; Has humillado a mis enemigos debajo de mí,

For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

41 Y has hecho que mis enemigos me vuelvan las espaldas, Para que yo destruyese a los que me aborrecen.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

42 C lamaron, y no hubo quien los salvase; Aun a Jehová, mas no les oyó.

They looked, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.

43 C omo polvo de la tierra los molí; Como lodo de las calles los pisé y los trituré.

Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.

44 M e has librado de las contiendas del pueblo; Me guardaste para que fuese cabeza de naciones; Pueblo que yo no conocía me servirá.

You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.

45 L os hijos de extraños se someterán a mí; Al oír de mí, me obedecerán.

The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.

46 L os extraños se debilitarán, Y saldrán temblando de sus encierros.

The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.

47 V iva Jehová, y bendita sea mi roca, Y engrandecido sea el Dios de mi salvación.

Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

48 E l Dios que venga mis agravios, Y sujeta pueblos debajo de mí;

even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,

49 E l que me libra de enemigos, Y aun me exalta sobre los que se levantan contra mí; Me libraste del varón violento.

who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

50 P or tanto, yo te confesaré entre las naciones, oh Jehová, Y cantaré a tu nombre.

Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.

51 É l salva gloriosamente a su rey, Y usa de misericordia para con su ungido, A David y a su descendencia para siempre.

He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
