1 C lama a voz en cuello, no te detengas; alza tu voz como trompeta, y anuncia a mi pueblo su transgresión, y a la casa de Jacob sus pecados.

“Cry aloud, don’t spare. Lift up your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Q ue me buscan cada día, y aparentan deleitarse en saber mis caminos, como gente que hubiese hecho justicia, y que no hubiese dejado la ley de su Dios; me piden justos juicios, y les agrada acercarse a Dios.

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways. As a nation that did righteousness, and didn’t forsake the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments. They delight to draw near to God.

3 ¿ Por qué, dicen, ayunamos, y no hiciste caso; humillamos nuestras almas, y no te diste por enterado? He aquí que en el día de vuestro ayuno buscáis vuestro propio gusto, y explotáis a todos vuestros trabajadores.

‘Why have we fasted,’ say they, ‘and you don’t see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and you don’t notice?’ “Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and oppress all your laborers.

4 H e aquí que para contiendas y debates ayunáis, y para dar de puñetazos al desvalido; no ayunéis como hoy, para que vuestra voz sea oída en lo alto.

Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness. You don’t fast today so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 ¿ Es tal el ayuno que yo escogí, que por un día aflija el hombre su alma, que incline su cabeza como un junco, y haga cama de cilicio y de ceniza? ¿Llamaréis a esto ayuno, y día agradable a Jehová?

Is this the fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to humble his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under himself? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh?

6 ¿ No es más bien el ayuno que yo escogí, desatar las cadenas de maldad, soltar las coyundas del yugo, y dejar ir libres a los quebrantados, y que rompáis todo yugo?

“Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

7 ¿ No es que partas tu pan al hambriento, y a los pobres errantes albergues en tu casa; que cuando veas al desnudo, lo cubras, y no te escondas de tu hermano?

Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

8 E ntonces brotará tu luz como el alba, y tu curación se echará de ver rápidamente; e irá tu justicia delante de ti, y la gloria de Jehová será tu retaguardia.

Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness shall go before you; and Yahweh’s glory will be your rear guard.

9 E ntonces invocarás, y te oirá Jehová; clamarás, y dirá él: Heme aquí. Si quitas de en medio de ti el yugo, el dedo amenazador, y el hablar maldad;

Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away from among you the yoke, finger pointing, and speaking wickedly;

10 y si repartes tu pan al hambriento, y sacias al alma afligida, en las tinieblas brotará tu luz, y tu oscuridad será como el mediodía.

and if you pour out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then your light will rise in darkness, and your obscurity will be as the noonday;

11 J ehová te guiará continuamente, y en las sequías saciará tu alma, y dará vigor a tus huesos; y serás como huerto de riego, y como manantial de aguas, cuyas aguas nunca faltan.

and Yahweh will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters don’t fail.

12 Y los tuyos edificarán las ruinas antiguas; los cimientos de muchas generaciones levantarás, y serás llamado reparador de portillos, restaurador de calzadas para poblados. La observancia del día de reposo

Those who shall be of you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Paths with Dwellings.

13 S i retrajeres a causa del sábado tu pie, de hacer tu voluntad en mi día santo, y lo llamares delicia; y al día santo de Jehová, honorable; y lo honrares, no andando en tus propios caminos, ni buscando tu negocio, ni hablando de él,

“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words:

14 e ntonces te deleitarás en Jehová; y yo te haré subir sobre las alturas de la tierra, y te alimentaré con la heredad de Jacob tu padre; porque la boca de Jehová lo ha hablado.

then you shall delight yourself in Yahweh; and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth; and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father:” for Yahweh’s mouth has spoken it.
