1 ¡ Cómo ha quedado sola la ciudad populosa! La grande entre las naciones se ha quedado como viuda, La señora entre provincias ha sido hecha tributaria.

How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become tributary!

2 S in cesar llora en la noche, y las lágrimas surcan sus mejillas. No tiene quien la consuele de entre todos sus amantes; Todos sus amigos le han traicionado, se le volvieron enemigos.

She weeps bitterly in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has no one to comfort her: All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they are become her enemies.

3 J udá está desterrada, sujeta a opresión y a dura servidumbre; Ella habita entre las naciones, y no halla descanso; Todos sus perseguidores la alcanzaron entre las estrechuras.

Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude; she dwells among the nations, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her within the straits.

4 L as calzadas de Sión están de luto, porque no hay quien venga a las fiestas solemnes; Todas sus puertas están desoladas, sus sacerdotes gimen, Sus vírgenes están afligidas, y ella está en amargura.

The ways of Zion do mourn, because no one come to the solemn assembly; all her gates are desolate, her priests do sigh: her virgins are afflicted, and she herself is in bitterness.

5 S us enemigos han sido puestos por cabeza, sus aborrecedores fueron prosperados, Porque Jehová la afligió por la multitud de sus transgresiones; Sus hijos salieron para la cautividad delante del enemigo.

Her adversaries are become the head, her enemies prosper; for Yahweh has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her young children are gone into captivity before the adversary.

6 D esapareció de la hija de Sión toda su hermosura; Sus príncipes han venido a ser como ciervos que no hallan pasto, Y caminan sin fuerzas delante del perseguidor.

From the daughter of Zion all her majesty is departed: her princes are become like deer that find no pasture, they are gone without strength before the pursuer.

7 J erusalén, cuando cayó su pueblo en manos del enemigo y no hubo quien la ayudase, Se acordó de los días de su aflicción, y de su vida errante, Y de todos los bienes que tuvo desde los tiempos antiguos. La miraron los enemigos, y se burlaron de su ruina.

Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that were from the days of old: when her people fell into the hand of the adversary, and no one helped her, The adversaries saw her, they mocked at her desolations.

8 P ecado grave cometió Jerusalén, por lo cual se ha vuelto cosa impura; Todos los que la honraban la han menospreciado, porque vieron su vergüenza; Y ella suspira, y se vuelve de espaldas.

Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she has become as an unclean thing; all who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yes, she sighs, and turns backward.

9 S u inmundicia está en sus faldas, y no se acordó de su fin; Por eso ha caído de modo tan sorprendente, y no tiene quien la consuele. Mira, oh Jehová, mi aflicción, porque el enemigo se ha engrandecido.

Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn’t remember her latter end; therefore is she come down wonderfully; she has no comforter: see, Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.

10 E xtendió su mano el enemigo a todas sus cosas preciosas; Ella ha visto entrar en su santuario a las naciones De las cuales mandaste que no entrasen en tu congregación.

The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the nations are entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.

11 T odo su pueblo gime en busca de pan; Dieron por la comida todas sus cosas preciosas, para recobrar la vida. Mira, oh Jehová, y ve cómo estoy de despreciada.

All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to refresh the soul: look, Yahweh, and see; for I am become abject.

12 ¿ No os conmueve a cuantos pasáis por el camino? Mirad, y ved si hay un dolor como el dolor que me aflige; Porque Jehová me ha afligido en el día de su ardiente furor.

Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, With which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

13 D esde lo alto envió fuego y lo hizo penetrar en mis huesos; Ha tendido una red a mis pies, me ha tirado hacia atrás, Me dejó desolada, y con dolor todo el día.

From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them; He has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: He has made me desolate and faint all the day.

14 E l yugo de mis rebeliones ha sido atado por su mano; Las ataduras han sido echadas sobre mi cuello; ha debilitado mis fuerzas; Me ha entregado el Señor a merced de aquellos ante quienes no podré resistir.

The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand; They are knit together, they have come up on my neck; he has made my strength to fail: The Lord has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.

15 E l Señor ha desechado a todos mis valientes en medio de mí; Convocó contra mí asamblea para quebrantar a mis jóvenes; Como en un lagar ha hollado el Señor a la virgen hija de Judá.

The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men within me; He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men: The Lord has trodden as in a wine press the virgin daughter of Judah.

16 P or esta causa lloro; mis ojos, mis ojos se deshacen en lágrimas, Porque se alejó de mí el consolador que reanima mi alma; Mis hijos están desolados, porque el enemigo prevaleció.

For these things I weep; my eye, my eye runs down with water; Because the comforter who should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy has prevailed.

17 S ión extendió sus manos; no tiene quien la consuele; Jehová dio mandamiento contra Jacob, que sus enemigos la cercasen; Jerusalén se ha vuelto cosa impura entre ellos.

Zion spreads out her hands; there is no one to comfort her; Yahweh has commanded concerning Jacob, that those who are around him should be his adversaries: Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing.

18 J ehová es justo; yo contra su palabra me rebelé. Oíd ahora, pueblos todos, y ved mi dolor; Mis doncellas y mis jóvenes fueron llevados en cautiverio.

Yahweh is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: Please hear all you peoples, and see my sorrow: My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.

19 D i voces a mis amantes, mas ellos me han engañado; Mis sacerdotes y mis ancianos perecieron en la ciudad, Cuando buscaban comida para sí con que reanimarse.

I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city, While they sought them food to refresh their souls.

20 M ira, oh Jehová, estoy atribulada, mis entrañas hierven. Mi corazón se retuerce dentro de mí, porque me rebelé en gran manera. Por fuera, la espada me quita los hijos; por dentro, la muerte.

See, Yahweh; for I am in distress; my heart is troubled; My heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: Abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.

21 O yeron cómo gemía, mas no hay consolador para mí; Todos mis enemigos han oído mi desgracia, y se alegran de lo que tú has hecho. Haz que llegue el día que has anunciado, y sean como yo.

They have heard that I sigh; there is no one to comfort me; All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: You will bring the day that you have proclaimed, and they shall be like me.

22 V enga delante de ti toda su maldad, Y haz con ellos como hiciste conmigo por todas mis maldades; Porque muchos son mis gemidos, y mi corazón desfallece.

Let all their wickedness come before you; Do to them, as you have done to me for all my transgressions: For my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
