1 E ntonces Moisés respondió diciendo: He aquí que ellos no me creerán, ni oirán mi voz; porque dirán: No se te ha aparecido Jehová.

Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’”

2 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Qué es eso que tienes en tu mano? Y él respondió: Una vara.

Yahweh said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”

3 É l le dijo: Échala en tierra. Y él la echó en tierra, y se hizo una culebra; y Moisés huía de ella.

He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.

4 E ntonces dijo Jehová a Moisés: Extiende tu mano, y agárrala por la cola. Y él extendió su mano, y la tomó, y se volvió vara en su mano.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

5 P or esto creerán que se te ha aparecido Jehová, el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac y Dios de Jacob.

“That they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”

6 L e dijo además Jehová: Mete ahora tu mano en tu seno. Y él metió la mano en su seno; y cuando la sacó, he aquí que su mano estaba leprosa como la nieve.

Yahweh said furthermore to him, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7 Y dijo: Vuelve a meter tu mano en tu seno. Y él volvió a meter su mano en su seno; y al sacarla de nuevo del seno, he aquí que se había vuelto como la otra carne.

He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

8 S i aconteciera que no te creyesen ni obedeciesen a la voz de la primera señal, creerán a la voz de la postrera.

“It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

9 Y si aún no creyesen a estas dos señales, ni oyesen tu voz, tomarás de las aguas del río y las derramarás en tierra; y se cambiarán aquellas aguas que tomarás del río y se harán sangre en la tierra.

It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”

10 E ntonces dijo Moisés a Jehová: ¡Ay, Señor!, nunca he sido hombre de fácil palabra, ni antes, ni desde que tú hablas a tu siervo; porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.

Moses said to Yahweh, “O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

11 Y Jehová le respondió: ¿Quién dio la boca al hombre?, ¿o quién hizo al mudo y al sordo, al que ve y al ciego? ¿No soy yo Jehová?

Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?

12 A hora pues, ve, y yo estaré con tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que hayas de hablar.

Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”

13 Y él dijo: ¡Ay, Señor!, envía, te ruego, por medio del que debes enviar.

He said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”

14 E ntonces Jehová se enojó contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿No conozco yo a tu hermano Aarón, levita, y que él habla bien? Y he aquí que él saldrá a recibirte, y al verte se alegrará en su corazón.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Moses, and he said, “What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15 T ú le hablarás a él, y pondrás en su boca las palabras, y yo estaré con tu boca y con la suya, y os enseñaré lo que hayáis de hacer.

You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16 Y él hablará por ti al pueblo; él te será a ti en lugar de boca, y tú serás para él en lugar de Dios.

He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

17 Y tomarás en tu mano esta vara, con la cual harás las señales. Moisés regresa a Egipto

You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”

18 A sí se fue Moisés, y volviendo a su suegro Jetró, le dijo: Iré ahora, y volveré a mis hermanos que están en Egipto, para ver si aún viven. Y Jetró dijo a Moisés: Ve en paz.

Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive.” Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.”

19 D ijo también Jehová a Moisés en Madián: Ve y vuélvete a Egipto, porque han muerto todos los que procuraban tu muerte.

Yahweh said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”

20 E ntonces Moisés tomó su mujer y sus hijos, y los puso sobre un asno, y volvió a tierra de Egipto. Tomó también Moisés la vara de Dios en su mano.

Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God’s rod in his hand.

21 Y dijo Jehová a Moisés: Cuando hayas vuelto a Egipto, mira que hagas delante de Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano; pero yo endureceré su corazón, de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.

Yahweh said to Moses, “When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

22 Y dirás a Faraón: Jehová ha dicho así: Israel es mi hijo, mi primogénito.

You shall tell Pharaoh, ‘Yahweh says, Israel is my son, my firstborn,

23 Y a te he dicho que dejes ir a mi hijo, para que me sirva, mas no has querido dejarlo ir; he aquí yo voy a matar a tu hijo, tu primogénito.

and I have said to you, “Let my son go, that he may serve me”; and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.’”

24 Y aconteció en el camino, que en una posada Jehová le salió al encuentro, y quiso matarlo.

On the way at a lodging place, Yahweh met Moses and wanted to kill him.

25 E ntonces Siporá tomó un pedernal afilado y cortó el prepucio de su hijo, y lo echó a sus pies, diciendo: A la verdad tú me eres un esposo de sangre.

Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”

26 A sí le dejó luego ir. Y ella dijo: Esposo de sangre, a causa de la circuncisión.

So he let him alone. Then she said, “You are a bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.

27 Y Jehová dijo a Aarón: Ve a recibir a Moisés al desierto. Y él fue, y lo encontró en el monte de Dios, y le besó.

Yahweh said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.

28 E ntonces contó Moisés a Aarón todas las palabras de Jehová que le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había dado.

Moses told Aaron all Yahweh’s words with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.

29 Y fueron Moisés y Aarón, y reunieron a todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel.

Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

30 Y habló Aarón acerca de todas las cosas que Jehová había dicho a Moisés, e hizo las señales delante de los ojos del pueblo.

Aaron spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31 Y el pueblo creyó; y oyendo que Jehová había visitado a los hijos de Israel, y que había visto su aflicción, se inclinaron y adoraron.

The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
