1 E ntonces me fue dada una caña semejante a una vara de medir, y se me dijo: Levántate, y mide el santuario de Dios, y el altar, y a los que adoran en él.

A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.

2 Y el patio que está fuera del santuario déjalo aparte, y no lo midas, porque ha sido entregado a los gentiles; y ellos hollarán la ciudad santa durante cuarenta y dos meses.

Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.

3 Y concederé a mis dos testigos que profeticen por mil doscientos sesenta días, vestidos de cilicio.

I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

4 E stos testigos son los dos olivos, y los dos candeleros que están en pie delante del Dios de la tierra.

These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands, standing before the Lord of the earth.

5 Y si alguno quiere hacerles daño, sale fuego de la boca de ellos, y devora a sus enemigos; y si alguno quiere hacerles daño, debe morir él de la misma manera.

If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

6 É stos tienen la potestad de cerrar el cielo, a fin de que no llueva en los días de su profecía; y tienen potestad sobre las aguas para convertirlas en sangre, y para herir la tierra con toda clase de plagas, cuantas veces quieran.

These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

7 C uando hayan acabado su testimonio, la bestia que sube del abismo hará guerra contra ellos, y los vencerá y los matará.

When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

8 Y sus cadáveres quedarán en la plaza de la gran ciudad que en sentido espiritual se llama Sodoma y Egipto, donde también nuestro Señor fue crucificado.

Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

9 Y gente de los pueblos, tribus, lenguas y naciones verán sus cadáveres durante tres días y medio, y no permitirán que sean puestos en los sepulcros.

From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

10 Y los moradores de la tierra se regocijarán sobre ellos y se alegrarán, y se enviarán regalos unos a otros; porque estos dos profetas atormentaron a los moradores de la tierra.

Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

11 Y después de los tres días y medio, entró en ellos un espíritu de vida enviado por Dios, y se pusieron de pie, y cayó gran temor sobre los que los veían.

After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.

12 Y oyeron una gran voz del cielo, que les decía: Subid acá. Y subieron al cielo en una nube; y sus enemigos los vieron.

I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.

13 E n aquella hora hubo un gran terremoto, y la décima parte de la ciudad se derrumbó, y en el terremoto murieron siete mil personas; y los demás se aterrorizaron, y dieron gloria al Dios del cielo.

In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14 E l segundo ay pasó; he aquí, el tercer ay viene rápido. La séptima trompeta

The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.

15 E l séptimo ángel tocó la trompeta, y sonaron grandes voces en el cielo, que decían: Los reinos del mundo han venido a ser de nuestro Señor y de su Cristo; y él reinará por los siglos de los siglos.

The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”

16 Y los veinticuatro ancianos que estaban sentados delante de Dios en sus tronos, se postraron sobre sus rostros, y adoraron a Dios,

The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

17 d iciendo: Te damos gracias, Señor Dios Todopoderoso, el que eres y que eras y que has de venir, porque has tomado tu gran poder, y has reinado.

saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

18 Y se airaron las naciones, y tu ira ha venido, y el tiempo de juzgar a los muertos, y de dar el galardón a tus siervos los profetas, a los santos, y a los que temen tu nombre, a los pequeños y a los grandes, y de destruir a los que destruyen la tierra.

The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

19 Y el santuario de Dios fue abierto en el cielo, y el arca de su pacto se dejó ver en su santuario. Y se produjeron relámpagos, voces, truenos, terremotos y gran granizo.

God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.
