1 E n aquel tiempo, dice Jehová, yo seré por Dios a todas las familias de Israel, y ellas me serán a mí por pueblo.

At that time, says Yahweh, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

2 A sí dice Jehová: El pueblo que escapó de la espada halló gracia en el desierto; sí, Israel cuando voy a hacerle descansar.

Yahweh says, The people who were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

3 J ehová se manifestó a mí desde lejos, diciendo: Con amor eterno te he amado; por tanto, te he atraído a mí con mi gracia.

Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.

4 D e nuevo te edificaré, y serás edificada, oh virgen de Israel; todavía serás adornada con tus panderos, y saldrás a danzar con gente festiva.

Again will I build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: again you shall be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go out in the dances of those who make merry.

5 A ún plantarás viñas en los montes de Samaria; plantarán los que planten, y disfrutarán de ellas.

Again you shall plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy its fruit.

6 P orque habrá día en que clamarán los guardas en el monte de Efraín: Levantaos, y subamos a Sión, a Jehová nuestro Dios.

For there shall be a day, that the watchmen on the hills of Ephraim shall cry, Arise, and let us go up to Zion to Yahweh our God.

7 P orque así dice Jehová: Cantad por Jacob con alegría, y dad voces de júbilo a la cabeza de las naciones; anunciad, alabad, y decid: Oh Jehová, salva a tu pueblo, el remanente de Israel.

For Yahweh says, Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, Yahweh, save your people, the remnant of Israel.

8 H e aquí que yo los haré volver de la tierra del norte, y los reuniré de los últimos confines de la tierra, y entre ellos a ciegos y cojos, a la mujer que está encinta y a la que dio a luz juntamente; en gran compañía volverán acá.

Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth, along with the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who travails with child together: a great company shall they return here.

9 V endrán con llanto, y los guiaré con plegarias, y los haré andar junto a arroyos de aguas, por camino derecho en el cual no tropezarán; porque soy a Israel por padre, y Efraín es mi primogénito.

They shall come with weeping; and with petitions will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

10 O íd la palabra de Jehová, oh naciones, y hacedlo saber en las islas que están lejos, y decid: El que esparció a Israel lo reúne y lo guarda, como un pastor a su rebaño.

Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations, and declare it in the islands afar off; and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.

11 P orque Jehová ha rescatado a Jacob, lo redimió de mano del que es más fuerte que él.

For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

12 V endrán y darán gritos de gozo en lo alto de Sión, y correrán al bien de Jehová, al pan, al vino, al aceite, y al ganado de las ovejas y de las vacas; y su alma será como un huerto de riego, y nunca más tendrán dolor.

They shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow to the goodness of Yahweh, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13 E ntonces la virgen se alegrará en la danza, los jóvenes y los viejos juntamente; pues cambiaré su llanto en gozo, y los consolaré, y los alegraré de su dolor.

Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 Y satisfaré el alma del sacerdote con abundancia, y mi pueblo será saciado de mi bien, dice Jehová.

I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says Yahweh.

15 A sí dice Jehová: Se oye una voz en Ramá, lamento y llanto amargo; Raquel que llora por sus hijos, y rehúsa ser consolada por sus hijos, porque perecieron.

Yahweh says: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.

16 A sí dice Jehová: Reprime del llanto tu voz, y de las lágrimas tus ojos; porque hay salario para tu trabajo, dice Jehová, y volverán de la tierra del enemigo.

Yahweh says: Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says Yahweh; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

17 E speranza hay también para tu porvenir, dice Jehová, y los hijos volverán a su propia tierra.

There is hope for your latter end, says Yahweh; and your children shall come again to their own border.

18 B ien he oído a Efraín que se lamentaba: Me corregiste, y fui castigado como novillo indómito; conviérteme, y seré convertido, porque tú eres Jehová mi Dios.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are Yahweh my God.

19 P orque después que me aparté tuve arrepentimiento, y después que fui instruido, me castigué a mí mismo; me avergoncé y me confundí, porque llevé la afrenta de mi juventud.

Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I struck on my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

20 ¿ Es Efraín el hijo predilecto para mí?, ¿es el niño mimado?; pues siempre que hablo de él, todavía me viene con fuerza a la memoria. Por eso mis entrañas suspiran por él; ciertamente tendré de él compasión, dice Jehová.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says Yahweh.

21 E stablécete señales, ponte majanos altos, nota atentamente la calzada; vuélvete por el camino por donde te fuiste, virgen de Israel, vuelve a estas tus ciudades.

Set up road signs, make guideposts; set your heart toward the highway, even the way by which you went: turn again, virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities.

22 ¿ Hasta cuándo andarás vagando, oh hija contumaz? Porque Jehová ha creado una cosa nueva sobre la tierra: la mujer rodeará al varón.

How long will you go here and there, you backsliding daughter? for Yahweh has created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man.

23 A sí dice Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Aún dirán esta palabra en la tierra de Judá y en sus ciudades, cuando yo haga volver sus cautivos: Jehová te bendiga, oh morada de justicia, oh monte santo.

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I shall bring again their captivity: Yahweh bless you, habitation of righteousness, mountain of holiness.

24 Y habitará allí Judá, y también todas sus ciudades; los labradores, y los que van con rebaño.

Judah and all its cities shall dwell therein together, the farmers, and those who go about with flocks.

25 P orque satisfaré al alma cansada, y saciaré a toda alma entristecida.

For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished.

26 E n esto me desperté, y vi, y mi sueño me fue agradable. El nuevo pacto

On this I awakened, and saw; and my sleep was sweet to me.

27 H e aquí vienen días, dice Jehová, en que sembraré la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá de simiente de hombres y de ganados.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of animal.

28 Y así como me ocupé de ellos para arrancar y derribar, y trastornar y destruir y afligir, tendré cuidado de ellos para edificar y plantar, dice Jehová.

It shall happen that, like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so will I watch over them to build and to plant, says Yahweh.

29 E n aquellos días no dirán más: Los padres comieron las uvas agrias y los dientes de los hijos tienen la dentera,

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.

30 s ino que cada cual morirá por su propia maldad; los dientes de todo hombre que coma las uvas agrias, tendrán la dentera.

But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

31 H e aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, en los cuales haré nuevo pacto con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 N o como el pacto que hice con sus padres el día que tomé su mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto; porque ellos invalidaron mi pacto, aunque fui yo un marido para ellos, dice Jehová.

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh.

33 P ero este es el pacto que haré con la casa de Israel después de aquellos días, dice Jehová: Daré mi ley en su mente, y la escribiré en su corazón; y yo seré a ellos por Dios, y ellos me serán por pueblo.

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

34 Y no enseñará más ninguno a su prójimo, ni ninguno a su hermano, diciendo: Conoce a Jehová; porque todos me conocerán, desde el más pequeño de ellos hasta el más grande, dice Jehová; porque perdonaré la maldad de ellos, y no me acordaré más de su pecado.

and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from their least to their greatest, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

35 A sí dice Jehová, que da el sol para luz del día, las leyes de la luna y de las estrellas para luz de la noche, que agita el mar, y brama sus ondas; Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre:

Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; Yahweh of Armies is his name, says:

36 S i faltan estas leyes delante de mí, dice Jehová, también la descendencia de Israel faltará para no ser nación delante de mí eternamente.

If these ordinances depart from before me, says Yahweh, then the offspring of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.

37 A sí dice Jehová: Si los cielos arriba se pueden medir, y explorarse abajo los fundamentos de la tierra, también yo desecharé toda la descendencia de Israel por todo lo que hicieron, dice Jehová.

Yahweh says: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, says Yahweh.

38 H e aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, en que la ciudad será edificada a Jehová, desde la torre de Hananeel hasta la puerta del Ángulo.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that the city shall be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner.

39 Y saldrá más allá el cordel de la medida, directamente hasta el collado de Gareb, y torcerá hasta Goa.

The measuring line shall go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and shall turn about to Goah.

40 Y todo el valle de los cuerpos muertos y de las cenizas, y todas las llanuras hasta el arroyo de Cedrón, hasta la esquina de la puerta de los caballos al oriente, será santo a Jehová; no será arrancada ni destruida más para siempre.

The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to Yahweh; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever.
