1 Y me dijo: Hijo de hombre, ponte sobre tus pies, y hablaré contigo.

He said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.

2 Y luego que me habló, entró el espíritu en mí y me asentó sobre mis pies, y oí al que me hablaba.

The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

3 Y me dijo: Hijo de hombre, yo te envío a los hijos de Israel, a gentes rebeldes que se rebelaron contra mí; ellos y sus padres han pecado contra mí hasta este mismo día;

He said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

4 y los hijos tienen la cara dura y el corazón empedernido; yo te envío a ellos, y les dirás: Así dice el Señor Jehová.

The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I am sending you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh.

5 A caso ellos escuchen; pero si no escuchan, porque son una casa rebelde, siempre conocerán que ha habido profeta entre ellos.

They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

6 Y tú, hijo de hombre, no les temas, ni tengas miedo de sus palabras, aunque te hallas entre zarzas y espinos, y moras con escorpiones; no tengas miedo de sus palabras, ni temas delante de ellos, porque son casa rebelde.

You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

7 L es hablarás, pues, mis palabras, escuchen o dejen de escuchar; porque son muy rebeldes.

You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.

8 M as tú, hijo de hombre, oye lo que yo te hablo; no seas rebelde como esa casa rebelde; abre la boca, y come lo que te doy.

But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.

9 Y miré, y he aquí una mano extendida hacia mí, y en ella había un rollo de libro.

When I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein;

10 Y lo extendió delante de mí, y estaba escrito por delante y por detrás; y había escritas en él lamentaciones, endechas y ayes.

He spread it before me: and it was written within and without; and there were written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
