1 О т этого сердце мое трепещет и бросается с места прочь.

Aye, my heart trembleth at this also, and leapeth up out of its place:

2 С лышите! Слышите гром Его голоса и грохот из уст Его!

Hear attentively the roar of his voice, and the murmur going forth from his mouth.

3 П о всему поднебесью посылает Он молнии, посылает их до краев земли.

He sendeth it forth under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4 Г олос Его рокочет вослед, гласом величия Он гремит и не сдерживает зарниц когда голос Его услышан.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency, and holdeth not back the flashes when his voice is heard.

5 Д ивно грохочет Бог Своим голосом, Он творит великое – не постичь нам.

God thundereth marvellously with his voice, doing great things which we do not comprehend.

6 Г оворит Он снегу: «Пади на землю», – дождю и ливню: «Лейте сильнее!»

For he saith to the snow, Fall on the earth! and to the pouring rain, even the pouring rains of his might.

7 О н прекращает труды каждого человека, чтобы все люди знали дело Его.

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

8 И уходят звери в свои убежища и в берлогах своих лежат.

And the wild beast goeth into its lair, and they remain in their dens.

9 И з Его покоев приходит вихрь, и северный ветер приносит стужу.

From the chamber cometh the whirlwind; and cold from the winds of the north.

10 Д ыханием Божьим творится лед и твердеют вольные воды.

By the breath of God ice is given; and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

11 Н аполняет Он тучи влагой и молнии мечет из облаков.

Also with plentiful moisture he loadeth the thick clouds, his light dispels the cloud;

12 К ружат они по воле Его над лицом всей земли, совершая, что Он повелит.

And they are turned every way by his guidance, that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the circuit of the earth,

13 Т о приходят, как бич, покарать людей, то, даруя им милость, насыщают землю.

Whether he cause it to come as a rod, or for his land, or in mercy.

14 В ыслушай это, Иов; подумай, как чудны Божьи дела.

Hearken unto this, Job; stand still and discern the wondrous works of God.

15 З наешь ли ты, как управляет тучами Бог, как блестит зарницей из облака Своего?

Dost thou know how +God hath disposed them, and how he causeth the lightning of his cloud to flash?

16 З наешь ли ты, как уравновешены облака, знаешь ли чудеса Того, Кто познанием совершенен?

Dost thou know about the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him that is perfect in knowledge?

17 О ты, кому жарко в своей одежде, когда замолкнет земля перед южным ветром,

How thy garments become warm when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

18 т ы ли вместе с Ним распростер небеса твердые, словно литое зеркало?

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, firm, like a molten mirror?

19 Н аучи нас, что нам Ему сказать, мы не в силах найти слова из-за тьмы.

Teach us what we shall say unto him! We cannot order by reason of darkness.

20 С ообщить ли Ему, что хочу с Ним говорить? Но кто себе желает смерти?

Shall it be told him if I would speak? if a man say, surely he shall be swallowed up.

21 Н икто не может взглянуть на солнце, когда оно блестит в небесах, после того, как расчистит их ветер.

And now see not the light as it gleameth, it is in the skies. But the wind passeth by and cleareth them.

22 С севера грядет блеск золотой; Бог приближается в страшном великолепии.

From the north cometh gold; with +God is terrible majesty.

23 В семогущий – мы не можем Его постичь, силой и правдой Он велик, праведностью богат, никого не угнетает.

The Almighty, we cannot find him out: excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance of justice, he doth not afflict.

24 П оэтому люди боятся Его, разве не боятся Его все мудрые сердцем?

Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
