1 С лова Амоса, одного из пастухов Текоа – то, что он видел об Израиле за два года до землетрясения, когда Уззия был царем Иудеи, а Иеровоам, сын Иоаша, царем Израиля.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 О н сказал: – Прогремит Господь с Сиона воскликнет Он громким голосом из Иерусалима, и засохнут пастбища пастухов. и завянет вершина Кармила. Суд над соседями Израиля

And he said, Jehovah roareth from Zion, and uttereth his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withereth.

3 Т ак говорит Господь: – За три греха Дамаска, и за четыре, не отвращу Мой гнев. За то, что он молотил Галаад молотильными досками с железными зубьями,

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.

4 Я пошлю огонь на дом Хазаила, и он пожрет крепости Венадада.

And I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

5 Я сокрушу ворота Дамаска; погублю обитателей из долины Авен и того, кто держит скипетр в Бет-Эдене. Народ Арама пойдет в плен в Кир, – говорит Господь.

And I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith Jehovah.

6 Т ак говорит Господь: – За три греха Газы, и за четыре, не отвращу Мой гнев. Потому что она брала в плен целые народы и продавала их в Эдом.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gazah, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver up to Edom.

7 Я пошлю огонь на стены Газы, и он пожрет ее крепости.

And I will send a fire on the wall of Gazah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

8 Я погублю горожан Ашдода и того, кто держит скипетр в Ашкелоне. Я обращу Свою руку против Экрона – пока не умрет последний из филистимлян, – говорит Владыка Господь.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord Jehovah.

9 Т ак говорит Господь: – За три греха Тира, и за четыре, не отвращу Мой гнев. За то, что он продавал в рабство Эдому жителей целых поселений, пренебрегая братским союзом.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant.

10 Я пошлю огонь на стены Тира, и он пожрет его крепости.

And I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

11 Т ак говорит Господь: – За три греха Эдома, и за четыре, не отвращу Мой гнев. За то, что он преследовал своего брата мечом, подавляя всякое сострадание, что гнев его горел непрестанно, и ярость его всегда пылала –

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity; and his anger did tear continually, and he kept his wrath for ever.

12 Я пошлю огонь на Теман, и он пожрет крепости Боцры.

And I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

13 Т ак говорит Господь: – За три греха Аммона, и за четыре, не отвращу Мой гнев. За то, что он вспарывал животы беременным женщинам в Галааде, когда расширял свои границы,

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

14 Я зажгу огонь на стенах Раввы, он пожрет ее крепости, среди криков войны в день брани, среди вихрей свирепых в день бури.

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.

15 Ц арь ее пойдет в плен вместе со своими приближенными, – говорит Господь.

And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith Jehovah.
