1 C ontend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!

(По слав. 34). Давидов псалом. Бори се, Господи, с ония, които се борят с мене; Воювай против ония, които воюват против мене.

2 T ake hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help!

Вземи оръжие и щит, И стани да ми помогнеш.

3 D raw out also the spear and javelin and close up the way of those who pursue and persecute me. Say to me, I am your deliverance!

Изтръгни и копие, та затвори пътя на гонителите ми; Кажи на душата ми: Аз съм избавител Твой.

4 L et them be put to shame and dishonor who seek and require my life; let them be turned back and confounded who plan my hurt!

Нека се посрамят и се опозорят Ония, които искат да погубят душата ми; Нека се върнат назад и се смутят Ония, които ми мислят зло.

5 L et them be as chaff before the wind, with the Angel of the Lord driving them on!

Нека бъдат като плява пред вятъра, И ангел Господен да ги гони.

6 L et their way be through dark and slippery places, with the Angel of the Lord pursuing and afflicting them.

Нека бъде пътят им тъмен и плъзгав, И ангел Господен да ги гони.

7 F or without cause they hid for me their net; a pit of destruction without cause they dug for my life.

Защото без причина скриха за мене мрежата си в трап; Без причина изкопаха яма за душата ми.

8 L et destruction befall unawares; let the net he hid for me catch him; let him fall into that very destruction.

Да дойде върху всеки един от тях неочаквана погибел; И мрежата му, която е скрил, нека улови самия него. Той нека падне в същата погибел.

9 T hen I shall be joyful in the Lord; I shall rejoice in His deliverance.

А моята душа ще се весели в Господа, Ще се радва в избавлението Му:

10 A ll my bones shall say, Lord, who is like You, You Who deliver the poor and the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who snatches away his goods?

Всичките ми кости ще рекат; Господи, кой е подобен на Тебе, Който избавяш сиромаха от по-силния от него, Да! сиромаха и немощния от грабителя му?

11 M alicious and unrighteous witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I know not.

Несправедливи свидетели въстават И питат ме за неща, за които аз не зная нищо

12 T hey reward me evil for good to my personal bereavement.

Въздават ми зло за добро, За да бъде в оскъдност душата ми.

13 B ut as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting, and I prayed with head bowed on my breast.

А аз, когато те боледуваха, Аз се обличах във вретище, Смирявах с пост душата си, И молитвата ми се връщаше в пазухата ми и се повтаряше;

14 I behaved as if grieving for my friend or my brother; I bowed down in sorrow, as one who bewails his mother.

Обхождах се като с приятел, като с мой брат, Ходех наведен и нажален както кога жалее някой майка си.

15 B ut in my stumbling and limping they rejoiced and gathered together; the smiters (slanderers and revilers) gathered against me, and I knew them not; they ceased not to slander and revile me.

Но когато накуцвах в пътя си, те се зарадваха и се събраха. Побойници се събраха против мене, - човеци, които аз не знаех; Късаха ме без да престават.

16 L ike profane mockers at feasts they gnashed at me with their teeth.

Като нечестивите смешкари в пиршества Скърцаха на мене със зъби.

17 L ord, how long will You look on ? Rescue my life from their destructions, my dear and only life from the lions!

Господи до кога ще гледаш? Избави душата ми от погубленията им, Живота ми от тия лъвове.

18 I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among a mighty throng.

Аз ще те славословя в голямо събрание, Ще Те хваля между многочислени люде.

19 L et not those who are wrongfully my foes rejoice over me; neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without cause.

Да не тържествуват над мене Ония, които несправедливо враждуват против мене; Нито да помигват с очи Ония, които ме мразят без причина.

20 F or they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful matters against those who are quiet in the land.

Защото не говорят за мир, Но измислюват лъжливи думи против тихите на земята.

21 Y es, they open their mouths wide against me; they say, Aha! Aha! Our eyes have seen it!

Да! те отвориха широко срещу мене устата си; Казваха: О, хохо! очите ни видяха!

22 Y ou have seen this, O Lord; keep not silence! O Lord, be not far from me!

Ти си видял, Господи, да не премълчаваш; Господи, да се не отдалечиш от мене,

23 A rouse Yourself, awake to the justice due me, even to my cause, my God and my Lord!

Стани и събуди се за съда ми; За делото ми, Боже мой и Господи мой.

24 J udge and vindicate me, O Lord my God, according to Your righteousness (Your rightness and justice); and let not rejoice over me!

Съди ме, Господи Боже мой, според правдата Си, И да не тържествуват над мене.

25 L et them not say in their hearts, Aha, that is what we wanted! Let them not say, We have swallowed him up and utterly destroyed him.

Да не кажат в сърцето си: Ето желанието ни се изпълни. Нито да кажат: Погълнахме го.

26 L et them be put to shame and confusion together who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify and exalt themselves over me!

Да се посрамят и се опозорят заедно всички Ония, които се радват на злощастието ми; Да се облекат със срам и с позор Ония, които се големеят против мене.

27 L et those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.

Да възклицават и да се зарадват Ония, които благоприятствуват на правото ми дело, И винаги нека казват: Да се възвеличи Господ, Който желае благоденствие на слугата Си.

28 A nd my tongue shall talk of Your righteousness, rightness, and justice, and of Your praise all the day long.

И езикът ми ще разказва Твоята правда И твоята хвала всеки ден.
